Avengers Crisis On Earth X Chapter 36
Barry walks into the main cockpit of the Waverider as he sees Iris
"You okay?" he asks
"I don't think I can answer that right now" said Iris as the two hugged.
"Is Scott okay?" she asks Barry
"Scott is doing fine. He's resting up with The Avengers. Still can't believe he took a beating from Thawne just to protect you. I couldn't thank him enough" Barry replied.
"We should be on our honeymoon" Iris said.
"We should be on a beach drinking Mai Tais out of coconuts" Barry adds.
"Considering this spaceship is looking for the doppelgangers"
"We should have just eloped"
Meanwhile as Scott was recovering..
"Lang?" said Cap as he walked in to check on him.
"Oh hey Cap" Scott replied
"You did good keeping the others safe"
"Yeah well at the cost of some getting captured"
"But you called for backup getting The Legends here. You kept Felicity, Iris and Kara safe against the doppelgangers"
"At least everyone is safe right?"
Steve simply smiled and put his hand on Scott's shoulder and tells him,
"Sam had the right idea telling me about you. Glad to have you on the team Lang"
"Thanks Cap"
Steve leaves the room and runs into Natasha.
"How's Lang?" she asks.
"He's gonna be alright. How about you?"
"I'm fine"
"Where's Stark?"
"He's with Bruce trying to work on saving Stein.
Meanwhile...
"F.R.I.D.A.Y? Gideon? I need your help ladies" said Stark messing about with his tech trying to solve how to save Stein.
"Boss the Professor's and Jax's injuries are caused by a link from the Firestorm Matrix" said F.R.I.D.A.Y
"As Dr. Snow put it, it's the only thing keeping them alive"
"Can you run all possible solutions to safely unlink them for treatment?" Bruce asks.
"Running all possible solutions" said Gideon.
"Shall I run some too boss" asked F.R.I.D.A.Y
"Go ahead"
The two scientists watched the two A.I run every possible scenario.
"I'm sorry Dr. Banner and Mr. Stark . There are no possible options to safely unlink Professor Stein and Mr. Jefferson" said Gideon.
"She's right boss. There is no other way" added F.R.I.D.A.Y.
Tony and Bruce simply had faces of disappointment and sadness
"Mr. Stark? Shall I inform Dr. Snow?"
"No need Gideon. Bruce and I well tell her"
"Understood"
Tony sighed as he sunk into his chair hands covering his face.
"If you can't break the news, I'll do it" said Bruce.
Back at the medical bay, Caitlin was still hard at work.
"How are you feeling Jax?" she asks.
"Don't worry about me. How's Grey?" he replied
"I have him sedated. Don't worry. Gideon and I are doing everything we can to fix him" she assured
"Okay good" said Jax weakly
Caitlin leaves the room going down the hallway as she runs inro both Bruce and Ray Palmer.
"Still no improvement?" asked Ray
"He's getting worse"
"Marty or Jax?"
"Both"
"I just can't believe there's nothing Gideon can do. Maybe F.R.I.D.A.Y and Tony can figure something out?"
"Yeah. About that... We all tried. We ran every possible scenario we could to safely unlink the two so we could treat them but uh... Both F.R.I.D.A.Y and Gideon said that there was no possible way" said Bruce.
"Medically speaking Professor Stein shouldn't even be alive right now. The only thing that kept him from dying is"
"Jax. Bonding with him. Yeah"
"Jax is basically functioning as a human life support machine able to keep the Professor alive but... Only for so long"
"Does Jax know?"
"That he's gonna die too? I didn't know how to tell him"
"It'll be okay. We have a whole mess of smart people on this ship. Someone's gonna figure out something"
As Ray left, Caitlin could only tear up. Bruce didn't have much word to offer so all he could do was hug her.
"You heard what Ray said. It's gonna be okay Caitlin. The important thing is that we all tried. God knows we all tried.
As Caitlin fought back tears Bruce simply just continued to hug her.
Curtis, Rocket, Amanya and Zari headed to the main lab on the Waverider meeting up with The Ray.
"Ohhhhhh man I have died an gone to geek heaven"
"If your going nuts over a spaceship then lord knows you would make a mess in your superhero tights if you were at the lab in the Avengers Compound. You and Stark would've gotten along just fine" added Rocket.
"Wait there's a lab with more advanced tech than this on your Earth?"
"You bet your ass Terrific!" However outside Earth I'm the tech genius of the group"
"Nows not the time boys" added Amanya.
"Told ya we'd pick the right guys" said Zari
"Pick the right guys to do what?"
"Hunt Nazis".

"The Ray ?" asked Rocket

"Really? That's it?" asked Zari
"Eh he came up with it himself. Trying to make himself out to be the world's greatest Outlaw, when in actually he turned out to lead myself and some other as The Guardians of the Galaxy. Bless him. Still think it's the stupidest thing ever"
"Actually I think saving the galaxy is probably the coolest thing ever!" said Curtis.
"By the way Ray, nice helmet, you look like one of those blowhards of the Nova Corps. Anyway what's the deal with the name, "Mr. Terrific"
"I named it after one of my favorite wrestlers as a kid. Anyway can we talk about these Nazis? " Curtis answered.
"They vanished" said Zari.
"Owning the the fact that they have their own Waverider" added Amanya
"A Nazi Waverider?" asked Curtis
"My guess they plan on using said Waverider for a freaking Nazi invasion. They wouldn't have a space ship like that unless they had planetary domination in mind" added Rocket
"Yeah we've been tracking them from the radiation signal from Overgirl because of her" Zari began
"Extreme exposure to solar radiation are these reading right? " Curtis finished.
"Yeah. The readings are right why?" asked Zari.
"Because they're slowly reaching the chanter shake out limit level" explained Curtis.
"Which means Overgirl is losing time"
"Which means if Overgirl doesn't get a new heart she'll go supernova and destroy everything with the city"
"Which means that Oliver's douchebag doppelganger is gonna send everything he has out way to get that heart" Rocket.
Back at the medical bay
"Jefferson? I need to tell you something." said Stein
Jax then unhookee himself from the sedation machine as he walks over.
"Well talk fast. Because unless you're sedated, Gideon can't do a damn thing to patch you back up"
"Can't you see I'm dying?" asked Stein
"What are you talking about man?"
"I'm old Jefferson. Even if I wasn't shot, no one lives forever"
"Grey I don't even want to hear you talking like that man"
"As long as we're connected, I'm nothing more than an anchor around your neck. Which is why you must help me"
"I don't understand"
Stein the points to a vial of blue liquid.
"Not Cisco's drug" argued Jax.
"Gideon resynthesized the liquid and she assures me that it will free you from my body's biology"
"And it will free you from mine. I'm the only thing that's keeping you alive man. You're asking me to kill you Grey!"
"I'm asking you to let me die so that you may live. Please hand me the vial. I know you think you're strong enough for the both of us. But unless I do this then we'll both die"
"Then we both die I don't care!"
"No. You have your whole life ahead of you. But now it's time for you to let me go."
"I'm not ready for you to go"
"I'm not either but when you think about it, compared to the cosmos, one's life is but the blink of an eye"
