Brett woke up on Saturday and packed his stuff before checking out of the hotel and heading to the gym. He immediately went to the locker room to lock his bags up before heading up to Nick's office.

"Hey what time is your flight?" Nick asked as Brett took a seat.

"2. I need to leave here before 1." Brett replied quietly.

"I'll be in New York soon to check out the new gym." Nick said.

Brett nodded, "Cool. Are you coming for the grand opening on Monday?"

Nick shook his head, "I'll miss that, but I'll be there soon afterwards."

Brett nodded, unable to get his mind off the job offer Blaine had offered him.

Previous Night:

"Job of a lifetime, huh?" Brett smirked.

"Yep. Trust me." Blaine grinned, "A personal trainer to the Lakers."

Brett froze, "Wait…you're serious?"

"Yeah." Blaine grinned, "It's an incredible opportunity. I know you said you're in a relationship but just think about it for a few days."

Brett licked his lips thoughtfully. It really was the job of a lifetime.

Santana was at her gym, working out around 8am when she ran into Ryder.

"Hey Ryder." She said, wanting to be friendly.

"Hey San." Ryder grinned, "I feel like I haven't seen you in forever."

She nodded, "It has been a while."

"You still with Brett?" Ryder asked, looking around for the blond man.

"Yes I am. He's not here right now." She said.

Ryder nodded, "Don't worry. I'm happy with Lindsay but I do miss you."

Santana nodded, "I'm glad. You guys make a cute couple."

"Thanks. I guess I'll see you around?" Ryder asked.

Santana nodded, "Sure!" She smiled.

She finished up her workout before heading home.

At noon Brett headed around to say goodbye to everyone before grabbing his bags from the locker room.

"Come back and visit!" Lori smiled, "We miss you."

Brett chuckled and nodded, "I will." He said as they high fived.

As he turned to leave, he ran into Blaine.

"Hey! Good, I caught you!" Blaine grinned.

Brett nodded, grinning, "What's up, Blaine?"

Blaine pulled Brett towards the doors, "I just wanted to give you this." He said, handing the taller man a folded piece of paper.

"What's this?"

"The salary for the job offer. It's…well, it's a nice chunk of change. Like I said, just call me in a few days." Blaine said.

Brett swallowed and nodded, "I'll uh…I'll let you know." He said as he pocketed the piece of paper into his back pocket without looking at it.

"I'll talk to you soon then." Blaine smiled before walking out of the building.

Brett sighed and waved to the others before heading out of the building. He went straight to the airport.

A little after 9pm, Santana was making the bed. She pulled the red comforter up and sat on the edge of the bed, taking a deep breath.

She couldn't explain why she was so anxious to see Brett, but she was.

She furrowed her brow when she heard a knock on her front door. She stood up and went to see who it was.

"Sebastian?" she said, surprised to see him there, holding a box.

"Hey San…I uh…I'm not here to start any drama. I just figured I should bring your stuff that you left at my place." He said quietly.

Santana sighed and reached out for the box, "Thanks."

He nodded, "Can I…can we talk?" he asked, handing the box to her.

She sighed, "You can't come in Sebastian."

He groaned, "I'm not going to try anything. I just…I need some closure."

She narrowed her eyes at him, "We can talk right here." She said, knowing she needed to stand her ground.

Sebastian hung his head and sighed before nodding, "I just…I gotta know…"

"Know what?"

"Did you ever think we could've been more than just fuck buddies?" Sebastian asked, meeting her eyes.

She sighed, "Of course I thought that at one point but not anymore. I'm in love with Brett and I'm not going to fuck it up with him."

Sebastian nodded, "We would've made a great couple."

She bit her bottom lip, "You should leave."

He sighed and nodded, "I guess this is really goodbye..." He muttered, "Bye San."

She nodded, "Bye Sebastian."

Santana watched as he walked to the elevator and pressed the button.

He went down to the lobby and walked towards the door before bumping shoulders with someone.

"Sorry." He said, realizing he had knocked their bag out of their grip.

Brett nodded, "It's fine. I got it." He said as Sebastian bent over, grabbing the bag.

He handed it to Brett who furrowed his brow, recognizing Sebastian from the one time he had seen him and the picture he had found of Santana and Sebastian.

"Here you go." Sebastian said, handing the duffle bag to the Brett.

Brett swallowed and nodded, "You're Sebastian."

Sebastian eyes went wide when he realized it was Brett, "Ye…yeah."

"Why are you here?" Brett asked, bluntly.

Bash swallowed, "I was just bringing her some of her stuff from my place. Nothing happened."

Brett nodded but didn't know or trust this guy.

Sebastian sighed, "Well…bye."

Brett nodded against, still silent before walking to the elevator.

He set his bags down and pressed the penthouse floor button. He took a deep breath, thinking about what to do.

Would Santana tell him even if he didn't bring it up?

He wanted to think that she would tell him if Sebastian came by, but he wasn't sure.

He got to the penthouse floor and picked his bags up before walking to her door. He pulled out his keys and unlocked the door then walked in.

He locked the door behind him and walked to the living room but didn't see her.

"San?" He said, hanging his coat up before looking around for her.

She came running out of the guest bedroom where she had been putting the box Sebastian had dropped off.

"Hey!" She beamed, rushing over to hug him.

Brett smiled when she wrapped her arms around his waist. He hugged her back.

"I missed you." He mumbled, trying to not think about whether Sebastian had been the penthouse that night.

She held him tightly before pulling back a bit, "I'm so glad that you're back."

Brett nodded, smiling at her, "Me too."

"You okay?" She asked, concerned.

He nodded and replied, "I'm good. What have you been up to?"

Santana sighed, "Not much. Um…Sebastian came by a little while ago…"

Brett let out a breath he hadn't noticed he was holding. He silently waited for her to continue.

"Nothing happened. He dropped off a box of my stuff and wanted to talk but I didn't let him in the apartment…" She said, quickly.

Brett nodded, "Okay."

"I didn't cheat on you, Brett." She added quietly.

Brett leaned down and kissed her lips softly before whispering, "I love you." against her lips.

She smiled, nodding, "I love you too. Have you eaten anything for dinner yet?"

He shook his head, "Nope. I'm starving."

"I'll order us some Chinese food." She smiled.

"Is it alright if I take a quick shower?" Brett asked.

She nodded, "Go ahead. I can do a load of laundry for you too…"

Brett smiled, "You don't have to do that."

"I know but I want to." Santana replied.

Brett nodded and carried his bags to her bedroom. He grabbed his dirty clothes and piled them onto the floor. He pulled off his jeans and shirt before walking to Santana's bathroom.

While he was in the shower Santana ordered their food and grabbed his clothes, taking them to her laundry room. She put them in the washer before noticing a piece of paper sticking out of a jean pocket. She grabbed it and checked the rest of the pockets before starting the washer.

As she walked back to her bedroom. She bit her bottom lip and set the piece of paper on Brett's bag. She wanted to see what it was but she wanted to respect his privacy.

She heard the shower turn off and moment later Brett came walking into the bedroom with a towel around his waist.

"I started your laundry and ordered us some food." She said before adding, "Oh and I found this paper in your pocket. I didn't know whether it was important or not."

Brett nodded, "Thanks…" He muttered, unsure about mentioning the job offer.

He grabbed his bag and set it on the lounge chair. He looked through it, pulling out a pair of blue boxers and some pajama pants.

"You okay?" She asked, concerned by his silence.

Brett nodded and pulling on his clothes before turning to face her, "I'm good." He said grabbing the paper.

He unfolded it and looked at the numbers written on it. His eyes widened a little at the six-digit number.

"Brett?" Santana said, walking closer, "What is it?"

He licked his lips and sat on the edge of her bed, "We should talk…" He muttered

Santana felt her heart stop, "What about?"

Brett opened his mouth to speak before there was a knock on the front door.

"That's probably the food." She said, "I'll uh…I'll go get it."

He nodded and bit his bottom lip as she walked out.

Brett looked down at the number again. He couldn't believe he could make that much if he took the job.

But taking the job would mean moving back to LA…which meant leaving Santana and he wasn't sure he could do that.

He stood up and pulled on a t-shirt before walking to the living room.

Santana walked in with the food and set it on the coffee table.

She looked at him nervously, "So uh…what do we need to talk about?"

Brett sighed, "I got a major job offer while I was in LA."

Santana swallowed and sat down, "Oh…"

He sighed, "Yeah…"

She licked her lips, "Are you…taking it?"

Brett sighed again, "It's an incredible opportunity. I'd be a personal trainer for the Lakers…"

Santana's eyes widened, "That's amazing."

"That paper you found in my jeans…it was the starting salary for the job."

She nodded, licking her lips, "Are you going to take it?" She asked.

Brett swallowed and shrugged, "I don't think so. I really just…" He paused before adding, "I can't just leave you. I love you…I'm in love with you and I don't want to leave you."

"Is the salary good?"

Brett chuckled humorlessly, "Yeah. It would be quite a raise from what I'm getting paid now."

Santana smiled sadly, "I don't want to mess up your dreams Brett. If…if you want it then…then you should go."

Brett sighed and shook his head, unsure of what to do.

I know…it's another cliffhanger but I wanted to post something now. I'll post the next chapter ASAP. Please Review!
