Alice. Syfy story.

Alice and Lindsey

Chapter twenty-three: Make Your Choice

(Lindsey pov.)

"Don't forget me." Chris then showed up.

"Am I interrupting something?" Jack asked.

I turned to Hatter and Alice who were making space away from each other. Yup, I felt heart broken again.

Hatter picked up a stick and started charging at Jack. "You think you can beat me with that?"

"I'm no old man."

"Oi!" Charlie was on the ground tied up. How did I miss that?

"Hey! No one is fighting unless it's me and I'm a black belt, remember?"

"Who's your new friend?" Jack asked.

"Just a friend."

"Really? You two look pretty friendly."

"Jealous Jack?" Alice asked him in a cocky-shocked way.

"A little." Jack said being very serious. "Wait, did I hear that right? The guy who's engaged to a Duchess, is jealous of-"

"Maybell?!" Hatter spoke out of nowhere. From behind Chris appeared a woman in a yellow dress. "Hello David."

"Ah. There is a name. Your friends with the passed Mark March." Jack said.

"How are-"

"I've been hiding out. I never left Wonderland." She said. This was Maybell? The girl that Hatter...lossed to his best friend? Wow! She was like a real princess. No way was I competing with that!

"Someone looks grey." Jack said. He was looking at me. Could he tell that I was upset? Jealous also? He had the smug look in his eyes if he didn't show it on his face.

"Enough! Jack. Look. Alice, Lindsey, I'm sorry that we treated you that way. But you have to understand, we had to. No choice." Chris said.

"It was all an act?" Alice asked.

"Yes."

"I don't believe you."

"Come on. We need to get out of here. I have a horse ready."

"She's not going anyway with you." Hatter said.

"She can't stay here." Jack said.

"Says who?!" I demanded.

"Stop this. I need to know about my dad. Is he here?" Alice asked.

"Yes. And if we hurry, I'll take you right to him." Jack said.

"Truth to the word. I'll be going with you." Chris said.

"And you?" Hatter looked to Maybell. "Of course." She said.

"We need to hurry. I have people moving him into the city and if we go now, we can get there by nightfall." Jack said.

"Of course. Right." Alice was taking all that Jack just told her. "Wow."

"Don't tell me you trust this guy?" Hatter asked.

"No way." I said before Alice could.

"Lindsey."

"No Alice. I can't. I can't do this again. You saw everything. He's a prince, the son of a woman who killed a whole kingdom and it taking people from our world to bring them to her! I will never trust this man. I don't even know who he is anymore." I said my peace. I was done. "If you want to risk seeing if your father is here, fine, but I'm not trusting him." I told her.

"You trust me." Alice scoffed.

I rolled my eyes.

"Your not sure about her either." Chris could tell from my face. "Your right. I'm not even sure I can trust you." I looked to her. "You went off in the night to make a deal with the queen! You didn't tell ME where you hid the ring before we got caught! Alice, you were the one who had us come all this way here! If you didn't get so over the top with Jack at dinner, my gosh! We wouldn't have gone through the looking glass in the first place!"

Suddenly a huge shockwave echoed through the woods. I felt off balance by what happened. Jack and Chris held their ground by crouching.

Alice and Hatter fell. I looked at myself, what had I just done?

"Your wondering why you have such a familiar feeling about this place? It's not the books." Maybell was speaking. In a second she was floating two feet above the ground.

"What in the-"

"You, are a cursed child." She said.

"A what?" I asked.

"A cursed child. It leans you were born, but your parents never even acnolleged you. You've never felt love. A loveless born." Chris said.

"You mean, like when you told us, those six years ago, about your parents." Alice pointed out.

The memory was fresh in my mind. She explain how her parents never loved each other whatsoever. It wasn't like one liked the other but the other didn't. It was both people, who just hated each other.

"How is that-"

"Possible? Easy. My parents, didn't love each other when they had me. Then Duchess came along and gave her everything because she was the beautiful angel. The only thing about this," Pointing at my mark on my back. "Is because you've been too long in Alice's world. The real world. You were born here, but your parents took you away to get out of the queen's way. She was collecting the cursed children. You made number six. The first happened to be the white princess." Chris explained.

I couldn't believe I was hearing this. I was...a super child? And evil child?

"Don't be afraid. i was at first. But then, I met Mark and David. I had a change. I felt like I was loved. Even if I couldn't feel it." Maybell said.

I held onto my parents rings in my hand. How could this be? I was...actually a part of wonderland?!

"I'm sorry I had to trick your mind Alice. But I was trying to get you to leave wonderland."

"That dream. My cat." Alice looked mad.

"Yes. I'm sorry. And I'm sorry for you to Lindsey."

I was getting mad now. "You. You had me thinking, that Alice, Hatter, you AND Jack, all of you had abandoned me?! Left me to be alone?!" The whole earth shook under our feet.

"I said I was sorry. I had no control over what you saw! I was mainly trying to get Alice to go back home. Or figure out her father was still alive and here! Did the smiling cat not give you anything?!" Chris asked.

"Please. Lindsey. Enough. I know how it feels. I also felt like I was alone. But I'll tell you one thing-"

"Just don't bother!" I yelled. I felt a hand on my shoulder, it was Alice. "I'll never leave you behind! Your my sister!" She shouted at me.

I felt tears in my eyes. I hugged her as I collapsed to the ground. "I'm so sorry!" I said to her.

"It's alright. Jack knows about my dad. He know where he is." Alice said.

I nodded my head. I understood. She had to find her father. "But I still don't trust Jack." I said staying on what I said.

"He wants the ring!" Hatter yelled.

"He hasn't asked for the ring? Do you Jack?" Alice asked thinking he'd say no.

"I do."

"You...do?"

"It's the only way to get you back home. It powers the looking glass and won't work without it." Jack said.

"It's all an act." Hatter said.

"Am I an act, David?" Maybell asked.

"No. Just-" Hatter was stunned. He was like getting ganged up on my all these girls.

His feelings were getting mixed up. "He's working for his mother."

"Then why aren't there hundreds of suits at my back? You think I followed my nose to find you here?" Jack asked.

"How did you find us here?" I asked.

"He sent for me." Jack said looking at Hatter.

Now we all were stunned. "Come again?" Hatter asked.

"I'm the agent who's to take you to see Caterpillar." He said.

"You know Caterpillar?" Alice asked.

"Very well. And if you let me, I'll take you to him." Jack said.

"I don't believe this." It actually explained a lot. "The ring, it was a coup." I figured it out.

"Was. But, my mother got wind of it too soon. And found me in your world." Jack said.

"It was to save him. I offered my place in your world to keep that ring safe. I may have lived there for six years, but I still gone back and forth to see him and my sister. Especially when I heard about the...engagement." Chris said. "And...my real name is Ana." She added.

Now I really don't trust anyone. Only Hatter and Alice. And Charlie of course.

"I've seen what my mother has done up close. And I also know, what...my sister might do if she get's wind of the final cursed child."

"Sister?"

"Younger sister. Alicia, she isn't the best of...princesses." Jack said.

"Sounds just like your mother." I scoffed.

"Alice, you need to trust me. Make the choice." Jack said.

"Don't do it Alice." Hatter mumbled. But this time it wasn't that he didn't want her to go with him, it was more like, don't tell him about the ring till you've seen the proof.

"Who is it? A resistance insider, and future king, who already had your return trip planned out with your father, or this man?" He turned looking at Hatter.

I looked at Jack, he knew my choice, but wasn't fazed by it.

Alice on the other hand, "It's right where it belongs." And there it was. Given back to the white king on his throne.

"Huh. Under my very nose." Charlie said.

"Good luck Alice." Hatter said.

"What? No. You're coming with us."

"Caterpillar was very clear. You are to come alone. Not even Lindsey can come with us. For her own protection as well." Jack said.

"Well, I'm not moving from here anyway. I'll stay with Hatter. You know where to find us. I guess." I scoffed at Jack. I knew this would happen. It's always Alice. She's the number one hero. She's the center...golly I need to get my head on right.

"I'll protect her." Hatter told Alice.

"Be Careful." Maybell said.

"Your staying?" I asked her.

"Yes. Chris already has someone else there waiting." She said.

"The one who found out about the cursed children. And knows all about us. Dodo's daughter." Chris said.

Hatter and Alice both had the same look I did.

"Relax. She's nothing like him. She'll deal with him for shooting you, Hatter and for how he treated Alice by threatening to kill her. She doesn't take too kindly to killing the main objective." Chris explained.

I only nodded. And with that, Alice, Chris, and Jack were off to where Caterpillar was hiding. I was to stay put. I was left behind.

"Don't worry. They'll be fine." Maybell said.

"Like hell." Hatter shouted. "Charlie. I'm taking Guinevere." Hatter shouted. "Coming?" He asked me.

"On the horse? Your kidding me right?"

"You want an adventure?" He grinned at me.

I felt my heart beating fast. The thrill of an adventure...in wonderland no doubt. With THE Hatter. Oh hell yes! I grinned back and raced to him.

Hold on Alice. Were right behind you.

"Where do you think your going?" Charlie asked.

"The hills." Hatter said. I held on tight around him not scared this time. I was smiling too. If I can't get the prince, I'll enjoy the time I have while I still can.
