Minerva woke to sun filtering in the large bay window. It took her just a moment to realize her chambers didn't allow this much sunlight through. We are in the Forbidden Cottage she realized. She turned to the side and saw Harry resting comfortably, his arms wrapped securely around her. She pressed a lingering kiss to his lips.
"I do love your kisses," he said in a sleep filled voice. "Best way to wake up."
Minerva smiled then asked, "Do you happen to know how we made it to Forbidden Cottage? I seem to recall still being in the Infirmary when I fell asleep."
Harry grinned before answering, "I apparated us last night when I first woke. Poppy wants to see us both for a check up sometime today. I assume we will be knocking down Neville and Hermione's door sometime today as well so we can get our babies."
Minerva nodded before she moved and straddled his waist. She interlaced their hands and gave him such a sad look before she dropped her face and lost her battle with her tears. "I nearly lost you and it terrified me," she confessed. "I am not entirely sure I could survive such a thing."
Harry sat up and wrapped his arms around her. "I shall try every way possible to stay with you," Harry promised. "Look at me."
Minerva raised her head and met his gaze. "Let me in," he begged as he pushed on her mental barriers.
Suprised by the requested, she dropped her mental shields and allowed him entry. He projected his thoughts. He showed her moments between them and the emotions he felt. He showed her when he first saw her at their wedding and their wedding night. He showed her his emotions of the day the twins were born and the first moment he held them. He finished up with scenes of him merely watching her sleep and thinking how incredibly lucky he was.
Tears of wonder filled her as she looked at him. "I will never intentionally leave you," he swore. "I love you so much it hurts at times. You are my forever."
Minerva cried out her emotions as she clung to him. He gently rocked her and carrssed her baby bump. "I never dreamed I could love this deeply," she said some time later. She pulled him into an earth shattering kiss and vanished their clothes wordless and wandless. She raised up enough to line him up and then impaled herself on him. "Love me," she pleaded desperately.
"Always," he answered. "But no more using magic. Your reserves are depleted and you need to recharge them."
"Make me scream your name and you have yourself a deal," she bargained. Harry raised an eyebrow, laughed and then he focused solely on his wife and her needs.
"Harry is fully healed," Poppy said suprised. "There is no lingering damage. If I hadn't of seen you yesterday, I wouldn't have believed you were injured at all."
"That's good to know," Harry said cheekily. "How about Minerva and the baby?"
"Minerva's magical reserves are steadily building," Poppy answered. "I prefer limited use of magic for another 24 hours just to be on the cautious side. The baby is exceptional. Somehow Minerva's magic has created a magical cocoon and is providing increased nutrients to the baby. We will have to put you on a potion regime. Your magic is ensuring the baby is getting most of the nutrients and you are not getting enough. It is nothing to worry about and is easily fixed."
"A magical cocoon," Minerva asked confused. "I have not heard of such."
"It is a rare occurrence," Poppy admitted. "I am not suprised by it considering it is you two." Harry just snorted in amusement and smiled at his wife.
Herione answered the door with a smile on her face. "They are in the nursery," she said. "Lilly has loved having company."
Harry gave Hermione a kiss on the cheek and headed towards the nursery. Minerva hugged her friend. "Thanks for taking care of them," she whispered. "I hope they were well-behaved."
"That's what families do," Hermione said gently. "We help out when we can. Besides a couple of hair changing mishaps they were good. Ainslie was displeased at the book Neville picked put for their night-time story. She levitated a different one to him."
Minerva grinned before following Hermione into the nursery. Harry had both Calum and Ainslie wrapped up in his embrace. Minerva walked over her family and kissed her babies on their foreheads. "Hello my wee ones," she cooed. "Mum has missed you."
"Mummy," Ainslie screamed excitedly. Minerva smiled and plucked her daughter out of Harry's arms. Minerva held her close to her heart and then reach for Calum as well. A smile graced her lips as she felt him grasp her shirt tightly.
