The next day, at school, I learned there would be a 8th grade trip to New Mexico for a graduation celebration. That will take place just two days after the girls come back from there. It will be two weeks as well.

"I don't think I can go," said Jessi.

"Oh, yeah, is it because of your dance recital around the same time?" I asked.

"Yes," said Jessi. "I also plan to invite you to come see me perform."

"I can't wait for that," I said.

"Me, either. I'm thinking about inviting all of BSC members," said Jessi.

"Only Mary Anne and the Willis will be gone by then," I said (Dawn would be leaving the day before the trip).

"It's on a Sunday. They can still come before they leave," said Jessi.

"True," I said.

"We can ask them during the club meeting," said Jessi.

"Okay," I said.

After lunch, in History, the permission slips were being passed around, but Jessi and I turned them down.

"I have a dance recital while you guys are gone," said Jessi.

"And, I'll be going to see her perform," I said.

"No problem," said the teacher.

After school, we met the girls halfway on the way home.

"I would like to ask you girls something at the club meeting," said Jessi.

"Alright," said Kristy.

At my house, we were watching a few of the Pikes kids. The triplets and Vanessa were with their friends, so we're just having the three younger kids. Although I can watch those kids on my own, I got a book report that is due and my parents are giving me a day off to do it, which is why Jessi came home with me.

"I'll do my book report later," said Jessi. "Want me to take the younger kids outside while you do your report?"

"Sure, that would be great," I said.

I love book reports. I get As on them. I finished reading the book, so I just need to write it out now. I was writing it. I was working on it in the living room when Mom came home.

"Jessi offered to take Nicki, Margo, and Claire outside while I'm doing my report," I said.

"Okay," said Mom.

They came in five minutes later.

"We're just getting a snack," said Jessi.

"Mom's home anyway," I said.

"Alright," said Jessi.

She did the report after they went to do their homework. We were done before 5:00 pm.

"Perfect timing. We might as well leave now for the club meeting," I said.

"I'll bring my stuff on the way to save me time," said Jessi.

We went out there and walked with Stacey.

"Jess just needs to bring her things to her house on way to the club meeting," I said.

"Okay. We do have time for it," said Stacey.

That's what she did and came back out.

"I put my things near my hook where we put our backpacks the night before," said Jessi.

At the club, Jessi said, "Our 8th grade trip for Mexico is coming up after you girls come back, but Mal and I can't go because of my recital and she sees me perform."

"Oh, yeah. We all do that," said Stacey.

"When are you and Mary Anne leaving for Maine?" asked Jessi. "It's on a Sunday."

"I think on a Monday," said Kaylee. "But I'm not sure."

"If you girls are still here, want to come?" asked Jessi.

"Sure," said Kaylee.

"Count me in," said Mary Anne.

"I'll have to double check with my mom," said Kaylee.

"No rush," said Jessi.

"We'll have to take a day off from baby-sitting that day," I said. "It's usually at 1:00 pm if I recall."

"Yes, you got it right," said Jessi.

"I'll talk to Logan to be ready while Kristy talks to Shannon," said Mary Anne.

"Deal," said Kristy.

We do that to treat ourselves if we want to take a day off every once in a while. Kristy usually doesn't like to disappoint the clients, but thank goodness for our associate members if they're needed. They're normally free. It's only for two hours. And, we go out to eat after that. Jessi is talented and wants to be a professional dancer.

After the club meeting, Jessi and I walked back to my house. She was staying over for dinner. After dinner, we hung out until her mom came for her for 8:00 pm.
