They weren't that far from Cybertron when they were attacked by Megatron's flagship, the Titan. They managed to outrun the ship for a little while and sought shelter on a nearby planet in an attempt to evade the Decepticons. They weren't successful as the Titan was somehow able to track their signal. Instead of attacking from the air, the Decepticons set down a distance away and chose to attack on foot. Prowl, Data, Pivot and Cascade ran scenarios, but they were mostly in agreement that they were missing something important.

"There could be a spy," said Pivot. "How else would they know we have a pillar? I don't see another reason for them to be pursuing us like they did if they did not know."

"I knew it," cried Red Alert from his position at the monitors.

"I agree," said Data nodding. "They found us too easily."

"It is possible that they simply developed a way to track our energy signal," said Prowl. "It usually takes a week for our shielding methods to become null and void."

"We'll look into the possibilities," said Cascade. "But we need a plan of attack right now. Why are they engaging us on foot?"

"Something could be wrong with their ship and they can't risk damaging it," said Data. "They could also have the other pillar."

"Unlikely," responded Pivot. "They don't want to attack our ship because they could damage the pillar they know we have. My credits are on them not even knowing where the last pillar is which is why they want ours."

"That's an interesting theory," said Data. "Plausible as well."

"Then this tactic is a trap," said Prowl. "Initiating defense plan." With Optimus' approval, Prowl started giving out orders and the Autobots moved to follow them.

The fight was huge and spanned over a large area of the planet's surface. Numerous blows were exchanged between the sides, but neither side was gaining much ground. Cascade was flying above when she saw Jolt down on the field working on two fallen Autobots. She turned and headed down to give him a hand. What she could see about his situation that he couldn't, was three Decepticons advancing on his position. They weren't subtle about their approach so they did finally attract his attention. When the first one jumped in front of him, he automatically unleashed his whips. A crackling electric shock sent the first Decepticon to his knees while the second smaller Decepticon went flying to the ground in a cloud of dirt. The Decepticon that had snuck up behind him was promptly intercepted by Cascade flying into him and severing his head with her wings.

"I came to help," said Cascade shooting at the two downed Cons in front of them. "Though it looks like you had everything under control." Jolt simply nodded in acknowledgement.

Together they got the two Autobots stabilized and quickly got them off the field. Cascade went right back out to fight while Jolt started his work in the med bay. Jolt eventually headed back out into the field for more of the injured, but took a nasty shot from Megatron himself and collapsed on the field. Cascade wasn't far away and she headed toward Jolt immediately. Optimus quickly dispatched his current opponent and then occupied Megatron while Cascade examined Jolt's condition. The right side of his chest and arm was practically missing and his spark was flickering because of the damage to his spark chamber. Cascade immediately pulled his spark into one of her carrying chambers without hesitation. Suddenly a general comm went out to retreat and someone triggered the field to explode sending bots running everywhere. Cascade only had enough time to cut off Jolt's head and subspace it before the explosions reached her. She took to the sky burning the special fuel in her reserve to give her power and speed. As the explosions on the field subsided, she mercilessly cut down the enemy with the blades on her wings as she rapidly flew across the field. Those that hadn't already evacuated were massacred. She swung around and picked up Optimus and Kup dropping them closer to the safety of the ship and then went back for anyone else she could spot before she entered the ship herself.

"What's wrong with her?" asked UV eyeing Cascade from where he sat in the med bay.

"She's angry," said First Aid not glancing up from his work.

"Whoever blew the field took all the parts she could have scavenged for," said Chaosbreaker in sympathy. "I'm not happy about that either."

"Not to mention that Jolt got taken down right in front of her by Megatron and she couldn't stop it," said WestWind. "We need all of our medics after all."

"Did we lose him?" asked UV frowning.

"No, she had time to extract his spark," said Ratchet as he moved to examine his next patient. "But his body was lost when the field blew."

"Not all of it," interjected Cascade. She had just finished working on her last patient. She suddenly pulled an object from her subspace and plonked it onto an open berth. The rest of the bots in the med bay reeled back in surprise and disgust as they realized that it was Jolt's severed head. "It was the only part I could save, but at least it will save me from having to rebuild the neural lines. Those are such a pain to rebuild from scratch."

"You should recharge first youngling," suggested Ratchet.

"I can't I'm too revved up," she responded. "I pulled accelerant energon into my systems to get a boost in order to avoid the explosions. It's what's keeping me moving right now. I haven't burned through it yet."

"That's dangerous," said First Aid shaking his head.

"I didn't have much of a choice," she replied unhappily. "If the battle had continued, I would have burned through it all, but someone decided to blow the field." She began quickly pulling parts one by one from her subspace and soon enough a skeleton of a body started to form. Legs, arms, wiring and gears started to quickly come together to form a more complete body.

Finished with his patients, Ratchet came over to see how she was doing. "What specs are you using?" asked Ratchet as he watched her reattach Jolt's repaired head to the partially formed body. He had a vested interest in the speedy return of his apprentice and wanted the job done properly.

Cascade sent him the specs. "He'll look a little different," said Cascade shrugging. "I can't replicate him perfectly, but I've kept the electric whips and made a few modifications that should help him.

"What are you using as a spark chamber?" asked Ratchet.

"I actually have two spares," she said. "I was created to be a medic and that means I came with supplies." She glanced over at Ratchet as she felt him scanning her.

Ratchet had taken note of the damage to her frame and automatically scanned her. Repairing Jolt was important, but not at the cost of her health. Considering she was carrying his spark, the fuel wasn't the only thing putting stress on her systems.

"I'm okay," she reassured him immediately. "I fixed any breaches and the rest of the damage is only cosmetic."

Cascade ended up completing Jolt's body in two days by working straight through. She even enlisted Sunstreaker's help in repainting Jolt when she was finished. By then, she had nearly burned through the accelerated fuel in her systems. Even when Ratchet demanded that she tell him where she got the fuel from, she kept the fact that she had gotten it from Mercury a secret. The other medics were watching her carefully though as she seemed to grow highly agitated as the day progressed. She had all but demanded that the other medics scan her work over and over in case she missed something when she was finished, but finally the new body was ready for its spark. After one final scan of her own, she released Jolt's spark into his new body and the spark integrated into the new spark chamber without any problems.

Ratchet cautiously brought Jolt online slowly while monitoring his systems as they started to online one by one. Cascade in the meantime ended up offlining from exhaustion and hit the floor with a thud. First Aid picked her up and moved her to a nearby berth.

Jolt came online fully and inquired of Ratchet what had happened. Ratchet explained and then went over to work on Cascade. Jolt couldn't quite recollect what had happened after Megatron had shot him. He asked Mercury who was on the berth next to him what happened.

"They blew the entire field," explained Mercury. "It was beautiful thing, but sadly not my work."

"Megatron was still on it at the time so we suspect someone in his faction tried to double-cross him," said Hyperfall from another berth.

"I have new mods," said Jolt examining his systems curiously.

"Well, Cascade did build your body from scratch minus your head. She had to work with what she had," said First Aid.

"Yea, it was pretty disturbing when she came in here with just your head, but it was all she could salvage in time," added UV. "She was pretty angry about it."

"I understand the need for parts even though it's gruesome, but I don't think I can take it if she starts collecting heads," said FireSky. He had just walked in to talk with Hyperfall and he had heard the last part of the conversation.

"She gave you an entire new body, but you're lucky she was near you when you were attacked or she wouldn't have been able to save your spark," said Ratchet giving him a pointed look that clearly said don't do it again. "Sunstreaker painted you at her request so if you don't like the look complain to him."

Jolt snorted. There was no way he was doing that.

Ratchet handed him a data pad. "This is what you currently look like. You're slightly taller than you were and you have new mods that should help you with both your communications and medical duties. I'm sure there will be Autobots jealous of you that you got mods that only the defense forces have."

"How is she?" Jolt asked looking over in concern at where Cascade was recharging.

"She strained her systems with the accelerated fuel she ingested and carrying another spark for a length of time. The damage I'm fixing right now is merely cosmetic. She fixed any other injuries herself before she even arrived back in the med bay," said Ratchet. "She'll make a full recovery."

Jolt nodded his head in relief. If he wasn't still adjusting to his new systems at the moment, he'd be over with Ratchet scanning her himself.

"Hey youngling, you're coming with me for training so we can break in that new body of yours," said Ironhide walking in the door.

Jolt grimaced. He was more of a medic than a fighter. He certainly knew how to fight, but having to run through basic training again with Ironhide was not something he was looking forward to. He was apparently going to have to get used to his new systems very quickly. He vented and rolled off the berth following Ironhide out.
