"we need to talk." He growled as he stepped around her and into the house without waiting for an invitation.

"W ... What do you mean?" She said

"Why didn't you tell me that you basically had this place to yourself for two weeks! We get SO little time together as it is!" He roared

She flinched, she knew he would be angry, but she hadn't anticipated HOW angry.

"I'm sorry, okay! It's just ... When we're alone, things tend to get... You know... Heavy! And I was scared!"

His anger seemed to suddenly evaporate as a look of pain crossed his handsome face.

"Are... are you afraid that I might hurt you?" He said, his voice cracking with emotion, that was one of his biggest fears as well.

"What?! No! What I meant was ... When I'm alone with you, the monster in me kind of... Takes over, and ... I'm just scared, okay?! I've never felt like this about anyone before and this is all new for me!" She practically blerted out.

He considered her for a long moment before a crooked grin crossed his face.

"And how, exactly do you feel about me?" He quipped

"I Think I might be ... Falling in love with you." She said, speaking quickly, before she lost her nerve.

He suddenly strode to her and embraced her as his lips met hers.

"Thank the moon!" He said as he kissed her again.

"I was actually coming to see you because I... Have a confession to make. When I gave you that necklace, I wasn't completely honest with you about it's meaning... At least for us." He stepped back from her a little and took her hands in his.

"When a wolf gives a moonstone to someone, it means that person is very special to them, it means that they consider that person their ... Soulmate." He explained

Eliza's mouth fell open as her hand reached up to touch the necklace.

"You ... You gave this to me because you consider me your ... Soulmate?!" She repeated, not sure if she had heard him correctly, or if it was just wishful thinking on her part.

"Well ... Yeah ... But... If you don't feel ..."

She suddenly grabbed the front of his jacket and pulled him into a kiss.

"Of COURSE I feel the same way, you idiot!" She said as she kissed him again.

"So ... Since you're here, do you ... Want to hang out?" She asked shyly

He grinned at her

"I'd love to."

They passed the afternoon hours playing video games, watching TV, and enjoying each other's company.

"Eliza looked at her watch.

"Well ... It's time to water the gardens for the evening, and I guess you ... Need to be getting home and whatever." She said disappointedly.

"No, I really don't, I mean I could stay ... Only if you want me to of course." He stammered, inwardly cringing at how lame he sounded.

Ugh why did love have to be so AWKWARD?

She smiled at him. "I'd like that."

They watered the gardens together in comfortable silence.

"I forgot how relaxing this was." He said

"Yeah, even more so when we don't have the government after us." She replied with a laugh.

"Totally agree there." He replied as they turned their hoses off and headed back towards the house. Wyatt felt joy flutter in his heart as Eliza wrapped her arm around his and leaned her head against his shoulder as they walked.

They stopped as they reached the back patio.

His gaze turned to the treeline, he knew he should be going, yet, he couldn't seem to.

"You have to go, don't you?" She said, not bothering to hide the disappointment in her voice.

"Yeah ... No ... I mean ... Not really ..." He said.

"Then don't." She said, her tone sure and even.

He blinked at her and shook his head like a dog shaking water out of its ears.

"I'm sorry, what?" He replied, not sure if he heard her correctly

She stepped close to him and wrapped her arms around his waist

"I'm saying, that I want you to stay." She said as she kissed him.

The rational, responsible side of him knew that he should ask her if she was sure, and if this is what she really wanted, but the monster in him had other plans, a growl escaped him as he scooped her up into his arms and carried her inside.

He laid her down in the couch with surprisingly gentility considering he was half feral at this point. Eliza's own monster side began to take over and she grabbed the front of his jacket and pulled him down against her as her lips met his again in another searing kiss.

"Eliza ..." Wyatt said, her name coming out as an agonized growl as he wrenched his mouth away from hers and with a great effort, as though it were the hardest thing he'd ever done, he disentangled himself from her arms.

He stood on the other side of the coffee table, eyes still glowing, and taking deep, steadying breaths in an effort to calm himself which made him sound like a panting lion after it had made a kill.

"Wyatt?" Eliza's voice brought him back to reality as he finally felt the wild animal, always waiting within him finally calm down enough for him to have somewhat rational thoughts.

"Whoa! Okay ...! Sorry ... Kinda got carried away there." He said, blushing as he ran his hand through his hair.

She offered a smile as she pulled herself into a sitting position on the couch. "Not just you."

He sat next to her and took her hands in his.

"Eliza, I love you, but this thing between us is still new, and we're still figuring it out. I just ... I don't want us to take a step that we're not ready for yet."

She gifted him with one of those rare, amazing genuine smiled of hers

"You're right ... And I agree." She said as she put her hand against his cheek.

"So ... I guess I'd better be heading home after all." He said, the fact that he yearned to stay with every fiber of his wolfy being was evident in the time of his voice.

"You really are an amazing boyfriend, you know that?" She told him as she walked him to the door.

He laughed. "Well ... I don't know about that." He replied as they lingered at the back door.

"You can come over for breakfast tomorrow, I'm a pretty good cook." She said, not even caring how eager she came across.

Wyatt's mouth spread into a grin that lit up his whole face.

"That sounds great." He replied as he opened the door to go, but not before capturing her lips in one final, lingering kiss before he bounded off into the night.

Wyatt caught the scent of bacon frying as he stepped out of the treeline and hopped lightly over the backyard's stone wall and his mouth instantly watered.

"It's open!" Eliza called from the kitchen as she heard a knock at the back door.

"It's almost ready." She said as she began to set the table.

"Wow ... That smells AMAZING! I would literally smell that all the way from the treeline." He said as he helped her.

She smiled bashfully as she poured two glasses of orange juice and portioned the bacon and eggs she had cooked out onto two plates.

"Most people don't know this about me but ... I'm also really into cooking, and not just zombie type food, all kinds of food. Cooking can be surprisingly scientific." She said as they sat down to eat.

Wyatt cocked his head amusingly at her, there was still a lot about her that he didn't know, but he was certainly keen to learn.

"Oh man ... This is amazing!" He said around a mouthful of bacon and eggs.

She smiled at him. "Thanks."

They enjoyed their breakfast in comfortable silence

"That was great! I don't think I'll have to eat again for the rest of the day!" He said as he helped her wash and dry the dishes.

"Do you wanna hang out and watch some TV?" She asked

His face fell

"I wish I could, but today is the wolf pup's first trip out hunting, and I promised Willa I'd help."

"Oh ... Okay." She said, disappointment plain on her face.

"But ... I can stop by this evening." He offered eagerly

She smiled at him

"That sounds great." She said as he glanced at the clock in the stove

"I have to go ...I'll see you later?" He said as he pulled her close to him

She stroked his cheek gently with her finger, he let out a consented sigh and leaned into her touch.

"You'd better go, you don't want Willa to be mad at you, and I don't want her mad at ME either for keeping you." She said with a laugh

He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her one final time.

"I'll see you this evening." He said with conviction before bounding out the door on all fours.

She smiled as she watched him leap lightly over the stone wall that bordered the backyard as her hand come to rest in the beautiful necklace he had given her.

NOW she finally understood how Zed had felt when he had first announced that Addy was 'the one' , and that somehow... One day, he was going to marry her.

Back then she had called him insane ... Now, in an interesting twist of karma, she found herself in the same situation.

One thing she was certain of though, was that he WAS her soulmate as much as she was his, and she was willing to do whatever it took, and face whatever she has to face time with him.
