I know it's been a while..but my house was sold...and had a lot on my plate. Also house hunting for the last month and the stars have a lined. We bought a house, have thirty days before we can move in. But, I was a bit reluctant to move...and now that I know I will be a state away from where I was born...sucks. Anyway I hope you enjoy.
When I thought Professor Snape couldn't get better he surprised me, after explaining everything to the man that had happened. The Potions Master walked with me straight to the Headmaster, who was somewhat furious at the accusations of Moody performing the 3 Unforgivable curses. However, when he directed me to show him, and I did...even Dumbledore could not deny the facts.
So, now until Moody could be replaced...I was under the teachings of Professor Snape for the remainder of the year. Who would also be keeping a very close eye upon the peg legged Professor, my father had also been informed and he was furious. Wanting Moody removed immediately, of course that wouldn't happen. But, life went on at Hogwarts much quicker than before. It could be simply, I had all my favorite Professors teaching me...plus I saw Professor Snape more often, getting a more adequate Defense lesson.
I did unfortunately receive my first E, but after everything with Moody it was understandable. I had stared at it all day, it was from Arithmancy which was a rather difficult class..but still I was better than this. It didn't honestly hurt my grade in the class over all, but it still bothered me. Seemed however, that Moody had gotten to Granger as well...as she had taken a downcline in her grades. Just E's mind you, but that actually had the two of us talking a bit more. We would never be friends, least I couldn't see that..but mutual respect may not be a terrible thing to achieve.
"I just can't understand...why he got away with performing all three Unforgivable curses. Least you have Professor Snape who actually likes you, who can take you under his wing." Granger had groaned to me.
I nodded to her. "Just show him respect, and his views on you could change." I replied calmly.
"How do I do that?" She asked.
"Well for starters, he gets annoyed when you raise your hand every five seconds. You have to at least let the other students get a minute to answer, and when they do and they are wrong don't huff." I explained calmly, and she actually nodded. "Also, keep correcting Ron and Potter on calling him Professor..and not evil git."
"I could tell that bothered you during the first year." She mused.
"Well obviously. Beside McGonagall he was the first person I had met in this world, and has helped me from day one. I knew he had my back, just as I have his." I told her calmly.
Granger seemed to consider this for a moment. "I will try, but I do agree Professor Snape is not evil...but he can be a bit of a grump."
I chuckled softly. "Not when you give him respect...he does teach a rather difficult class for most. He constantly has to clean up and counteract explosions."
"Never thought about it that way." Granger admitted. "I can see why he would be annoyed...but why does he take it out on Gryffindor?"
"Who keeps causing the explosions, and which house seems to distrust him the least?" I answered with a question. "Slytherin and Gryffindor are the only rivals in this school, everyone else coexisted peacefully for the most part. Even Hufflepuffs and Slytherins get along, but magic shouldn't be undivided….but United."
A clapping sound could be heard behind me, turning quickly. I saw Mr. Crouch standing there with a smile on his face. "Excellent conclusion, indeed Ms. Malfoy...or am I to call you Swan this year...to keep you safe from the Death Eaters?"
"Swan in public, but I am a Malfoy." I replied simply.."but my father feels that the name Swan will keep me and the rest of my family safe."
"I can't help but agree." Crouch replied calmly, before looking to Granger who nodded to him...and he to her.
"Thank you sir." I told him calmly, nodding softly to his form. I looked him up and down, before I froze. "Sir..please avoid the forest this year."
He looked at me confused. "Why?"
"It will save your life." I told him, simply. I just knew if he went into the forest he would perish by the hands of someone in this school. "A death eater is a threat to you…I don't have all the answers though, but don't mention this to Moody."
Mr. Crouch eyed me, along with Granger for a few moments. "Very well." He eventually said, before walking off. I assumed to find Dumbledore, someone who I knew had secrets to hide.
"What was that about?" My companion asked, couldn't really call her a friend.
"Mr. Crouch will be killed in the Dark Forest, if he goes in there...I am preventing that...least trying to."
"Ah!" A gruff voice exclaimed, turning I saw Professor Moody walking forward. "Miss Swan, you have not been in my classes..why is that?"
"I am studying under Professor Snape..one on one instead, Professor Dumbledore signed off on it.." I replied simply.
"I am aware of that." He snapped, once again I could feel him trying to break through my borders. I knew, I had to give him something so he would stop...so I allowed him to see the abuse my muggle father used to bestow upon my small frame. Supplying a few fake memories, thankful that my Potions Professor was so skilled in his teachings. Moody seemed satisfied with this, as I felt him withdrawal from my head, but I knew better than to let my guard down around him. "Some parents shouldn't be…." He muttered before walking off.
"What was that about?" Izzy asked, as she walked up.
I turned to her, my eye flicking to Granger. "He is a dangerous man, and he is hiding something...never let your guards down around him."
They both eyed me, before I began walking off for my Defense lesson of the day. My eyes locked ahead of me, as I made sure all my private thoughts were kept hidden...waiting for Christmas to arrive, I want to be with my family...not here. That was a scary thought, as I loved this school, since the first day I arrived; but even the castle was afraid I could feel it.
I told Professor Snape what I had done when I entered his office. I told him everything after all, he was impressed and annoyed. Impressed I could block Moody out, annoyed that the man was still searching through my head. Least I could say I had a teacher who knew how to teach, but flattery did nothing for the Dark man sitting at his desk. I knew this all too well, since the first day I stepped foot into his classroom. He was completely real, by that I meant he was what people are in their deepest hearts.
"Shall we begin?" The man spoke finally, before we began our lesson. Every weekend was tiring, and every weekend I loved every moment of it. Every month now he taught me a new Defense charm, some that he himself developed. Besides Painilplity, I was tasked with completing each charm..and successfully performing them by the end of said month. Needless to say, once Sunday rolled around I met my fellow seer absolutely exhausted.
Diedra never pried, but she knew I was taxing myself way too much, asking if I needed to rest. I'd shake my head, and keep continuing on like any other week. It was then she decided we could start seeing each other less during the school year, moving on to every other Sunday. Claiming that I was ready, but I think it was because she knew I needed a break. I would be forever grateful. My brother, and friends were also quite grateful that I could rest...and by rest spend a lot more quality time with them.
"Sis, I worry about you….you don't have to kill yourself. Granger, Potter, and the younger male Weasley…they don't torment you anymore." My brother told me on the fly as we were walking to the kitchens, where we eat with Filch, and the rest of our friends now. "You started all this to show off to Granger, but I don't like seeing you so exhausted."
"Draco, I am fine…really. I can't afford to drop any of these classes right now." I explained to him. "Besides, I like my classes and like my teachers."
He was silent, while gently saying with a smirk. "You especially like Potions….and Defense teacher." He replied, as we sat down to eat.
Rolling my eyes before smiling. "Are you getting into Transfiguration?" I asked, the look on his face was priceless.
"You wouldn't." My brother hissed.
"How fast would that rumor fly?" I asked, while Filch snorted.
"Well Mr. Malfoy..I do believe Amelia got you." The caretaker stated, while everyone laughed and my brother sulked
"My sister is mean." He muttered.
I looked at him, before wrapping my arms around him. "But ya love me."
"That's debatable." He replied with a grin, gaining a pout from me and more laughter around.
Uh oh, Snape is officially grading her on Defense XD. Honestly I can't wait to get to Sixth year and see how he teaches and entire class Defense..
Ready for questions...just 2 today.
1) What kind of dress do you think Amelia will where, and who do you think she will go with to the Yule Ball?
2) Do you think Snape will use Amelia for demonstrations once he is Defense teacher?
