Swaine was just about to head off to bed but first he had to check on whoever was in the sick bay so they were alright for the night. Luckily Jim could now look after himself so he didn't have to check on him. Mike didn't need round the clock care but still needed to be checked on a few times a day.
Swaine opened the door to the sick bay. It was empty! Swaine nearly yet out a yell when he noticed this. He couldn't believe Mike would do this especially in his condition. He looked around outside to see if anyone knew where he was but before he could look too far, a call came through on the phone inside.
Swaine went to pick it up.
"Swaine here." Swaine answered.
"Commander White here Swaine. Just wondering how your patient is doing?" Maxines voice answered back.
Swaine went white as he heard this question. He looked around the sick bay for an answer he could possibly give her.
"Swaine…." Maxine asked again.
"Yes sorry Ma'am. He's doing the best he can be." Swaine said, sweating.
"Can I talk to him?" Maxine asked.
Swaine had been dreading that question and now she had asked it. What was he going to say?!

"And it was never seen again…." Bomber finished her story.
The whole bridge crew moaned together. Bomber looked around surprised at the reaction that her story had gotten.
"What?!" Bomber laughed.
"That story is so predictable!" Nav moaned as the rest of the team agreed with her.
"Yeah. Creepy dolls terrorize the family and then the family members are killed off one by one and the doll is never seen again." Spider groaned.
"Well, if you can do any better go ahead." Bomber said as she crossed her arms in disgust.
Spider rubbed his hands together. Kate and Mike leaned back in their chairs as they expected this story to be as lame as the last one. Charge and RO had pretty much fallen asleep so weren't really listening. Buffer had gotten up and done something else. So really only Nav was still listening.
"It all starts on a boat just like this one…" Spider began his story.
"Spider, if this is a ghost story… Do you have to use this boat?" Kate asked, chuckling.
"It just makes the story X." Mike backed Spider.
"Can I carry on the story please?!" Spider cried passionately.
The rest of the team didn't say another word. Spider took a deep breath in and continued his story that promised to be pretty good after all of that.

"I'm afraid the CO is busy at the moment." Swaine finally answered Maxine's question.
"Oh. I thought he was going to stay in the sick bay." Maxine sounded puzzled.
"He was. Lieutenant Mcgregor said she needed a hand so he's gone to help her." Swaine lied.
"Oh right. Well make sure he calls me back as soon as possible."
"Yeah I will. I'm sure he won't be long."
"Right well I'll speak to him later then."
"Yes Ma'am."
The call ended after that. Swaine took a deep sigh of relief. He just had to hope now that wherever Mike was and whatever he was doing it wouldn't be long. He tapped the table as he waited. He then got tired of waiting and went to see where everyone was.
He made his way around the quarters as he searched for people. He had been warned about the water on the floor so was being careful not to fall over.
"You alright Swaine?" One of the crewmen asked him as Swaine went by.
"I'm just looking for someone." Swaine smiled back.
"Well don't be too long. You don't want to keep everyone awake do you?" The crewman said as he walked into his quarters.
Swaine nodded. He then carried on looking and heard laughter coming from another room so went towards it.

"It all started on a boat just like this one…. It was called the HMAS Reagan…."
The whole crew had now been woken up by Spiders storytelling. They weren't all really interested but for Spiders sake they listened.
"They were on a secret mission after their commander had been told where they were going…" Spider said looking over to Mike.
"Don't look at me like that Spider." Mike smirked.
"Everything was going well until they got right out into the ocean…."
This made everyone wake up a little bit more. It was supposed to be a ghost story but it was sounding quite similar to what was going on now.
"They were peacefully getting along until they caught up in a very bad storm…. Lightning struck the boat twice…."
As soon as Spider had said this lightning crashed against the window which made everyone jump.
"Where did that come from?!" Buffer jumped.
Everyone turned to Spider to continue the story.
"A crash of thunder soon followed…."
Thunder crashed over the bridge. They all looked around. This must be a conquindence.
"The storm seemed to calm down but then another crash of lightning hit the bridge dead straight…."
Nav and Bomber gasped as they heard this. Buffer, RO and Charge all rolled their eyes at this. Mike and Kate just smiled at each other as they had heard all this before.
"The whole crew were killed by the lightning strike and the strong waves that lapped over the boat…."
"Oh nice ending!" Buffer piped up.
"I haven't finished!" Spider cried to Buffer.
Buffer took a step back when Spider had said this. Mike gave Buffer a look to not interrupt Spider again.
"Everything was fine but any boat that went past ever since swear they see a ghost ship going past their bow. They also say they see the crew still working on it…."
"And let me guess those ships are never seen again?" Buffer interrupted quietly.
"No. Some boats come back some don't…. It just depends on the ship's crew mood I guess."
"Oh my God!" Buffer yelled.
"That's it. That's the end of the story." Spider said leaning back in his chair looking happy with himself.
"Bit of an emotional story then a ghost one Spider." Kate smirked.
"Well I think that should be the last one tonight." Charge yawned.
The whole bridge crew agreed with this statement. Most of them were dropping off anyway. Charge, RO and Buffer went first with Spider not too far behind. Nav said goodnight and left next. Mike and Kate were staying on the bridge for the night but Bomber stayed in her seat. Mike soon noticed this.
"You alright Bomber?" Mike asked concerned.
"Yeah I'm fine." Bomber answered quietly.
"You don't look it." Kate backed Mike.
"It's just that story… It's kind of got to me." Bomber smiled.
Mike nodded at Kate. Kate nodded back and went to work on something else. Mike kneeled down by Bomber for a talk.
"HMAS Reagan isn't real right sir?" Bomber asked as a first question.
"I don't think so Bomber. I think I would know if there was one called that." Mike answered.
"It's just a story right?"
"Yeah."
"What about the storm?"
"It'll be over soon. Spider really has to set the scene doesn't he?!" Mike laughed.
Bomber chuckled quietly. This made her feel a lot better as she left the bridge for a night's rest. Mike struggled to get back up again but managed as Kate walked over. She gave him an unsympathetic look.
"Don't…" Mike started.
"I won't. It's just Swaine will be mad at me." Kate yawned.
"Are you sure you want to stay up here? I can get someone else to stay up tonight."
"No. Anyway someone has to look after you." Kate smiled as she got to work.
Mike smiled and shook his head. Spider might be good at telling ghost stories but if it scared the bridge crew again they might have to not have another night like that again.
