Robbie's POV
(One month later)
It's strange. I'm going back to Los Angeles in the middle of the year.
"Okay, Robbie, Candace, the reason why we're going to Los Angeles is because...we're moving back there." No freaking way. I'm gonna see Cat again!
"Wait, mom, is this for real? We're moving back to L.A.?" I'm literally jumping up and down in my seat.
"Yes, however Cat's in the hospital. Apparently people tried to kill her. She's not doing that well but her mom got me the job, I did the interview over the phone. The pay is going to be amazing." Cat's hurt? And someone tried to kill her? I'll kill those fuckers myself. Nobody messes with my Cat.
"Wait, Candy Cat isn't doing well?" Wow, Candace. New nickname?
"Candy cat, where did that nickname come from?" Nice to know that Mom's also curious
"The last time we were here she got me a bunch of candy. Is she going to die?" God, please. I don't want her to go.
"Last I heard, they put her in a coma because of the pain, her mom said that she should be waking up right about now." Thank goodness. The first thing I wanna do is to see Cat.
…
After we get our car, I immediately dash to the front seat.
"Mom, just drive to the hospital! I wanna see Cat by myself." Tears are silently streaming down my face.
"Okay, I'll just be with Candace at home. Be back soon." I nod my head and lean against the window. If Cat's gone, then what is there to live for? I've lost everything already, and if Cat dies...I won't know what to do anymore.
I hop off the car and go to Cat's room, where she's hooked up to all these wires and machinery, and she has a mask on...I can't take it. I don't like seeing my baby hurt.
"Cat? Cat?" I see her eyes flutter open slowly and she takes her mask off.
"R-Robbie? Is that really you?" She sounds a little weak, but I can still hear her.
"I told you that I would come back for you." I brush some hair out of her face and she elevates her headrest.
"Owwy. So, how long are you gonna be here in L.A.?" I smile and kiss her on the forehead.
"I'm back for good. Your mom gave my mom a job, so we came back. And we live right next door to your place." I could see the smile slowly growing on her face.
"Yay! You're back! I can't believe it!" Neither can I.
"Wait, so what exactly happened to you?" Her smile is slowly fading away.
"At school...Ben, from the basketball team, he was talking bad about you and I, and we argued, and then it got physical. I started to swing at him, and he swung at me. I eventually...got stabbed by his scissors. I felt like it also grazed my lung." I hate Ben. I fucking hate him.
"I'm gonna kill that motherfucker. Nobody lays a hand on my Cat." I ball up my fist, and the adrenaline is pumping through me.
"No, Robbie, don't. He's already locked up for attempted murder. And, sorry if I'm gonna break your heart like this, but...I found a boyfriend." Wait, what?!
"Who?"
"Oh, his name's justkiddingpleasetakeajoke." Come on! How'd I fall for that?
"Cat!" I scold.
"Remember? I told you that I would never leave you. And I still won't leave you. You're all I want. I love you." She runs her fingers through my hair, and we make eye contact. She has the most beautiful eyes in the world.
"Do you still get the death threats?" I look at my phone.
"Yeah, but I don't really care anymore. Because I have something that they don't." I kiss her on the forehead.
"What is it?"
"I have you. They're probably so jealous of me. Nobody deserves you, Cat. Not even me." She's probably so annoyed with me right now.
"You deserve me. Keep those three words in your..." Oh, God. She's starting to black out. I'm pressing the nurse button as fast as I can. Everyone comes in and they put an oxygen mask over her.
"Okay, you have to leave." This doctor's dragging me out.
"No, please! She's my girlfriend!"
"I don't care, you have to leave." He continues to drag me out.
"Cat!" I yell as loud as I can. I'm running downstairs and crying. If the worst is real, then...she's gone. Now what do I do? I guess it's just time to find someone new-
"Hey, she's all cleared. You're free to go inside." I wipe away my tears and go back up to her room.
"Robbie, I'm sorry." I take a seat next to her bed and kiss her on the forehead again.
"Don't leave me like that ever again, you understand me?" I look her dead in the eye.
"You're mine and I'm yours. We aren't allowed to leave each other. I woke up because I didn't wanna leave you. You're the sweetest, most adorable guy in the world." She kisses me on the cheek and I kiss her back.
"You're still the same Cat that I met two months ago." I give her a little laugh.
"Glad to know that you didn't change at all, baby." Living in L.A.'s gonna be fun. Especially with my girlfriend at my side.
