Hayley Marshall released a breath as soon as they both made their way into the woods. Her mind was completely blank for a while. The werewolf still didn't understand how she made out of the city alive...without a scar.

"You okay?" The vampire asked when she heard the rapid beat of the werewolf's heart beside her. "Are you turning, already?"

"What? No. I'm just processing everything," Hayley muttered. "Why did you do that?"

When she saw Katherine raising her eyebrow, the Labonair wolf elaborated, "I mean, I am grateful for what you did. But I really wasn't expecting you to do that. Not after all the lectures and threats, you give me daily."

"As I said, I have a reputation to uphold," Katherine said. "And I know Marcel enough to play him well, and get what I want." Because of the original Katherine memories, she knows Marcel remembered her as a badass woman who doesn't take shit from people. Katherine taught him some very important lessons about self-preservation. How to survive enemies that are stronger and bigger than them? Something that helped Marcel get through the war and come out on top.

"And the thing with Klaus, I was mostly bluffing. Marcel and I both know that Klaus is power-hungry. So I used the same thing to goad him. Marcel is Klaus' protege. Klaus believed he died during the 1900s and left the city to never turn back until this day. But as we can see, Marcel survived the attack at the Opera House and continued what the Original family started. And now that he built something for himself, Marcel wouldn't let Klaus take it away. So he agreed to our offer," Katherine explained to the young wolf, "If you know the enemy and know yourself, you don't need to fear the outcome of the battle."

"You are terrifying," Hayley breathed out, looking at the smirk on the Petrova doppelganger's face, "And that showdown was completely badass. I would love to take one of those lessons when I finally become an Alpha to my pack."

"You know what, since I am in a good mood, I will give you your first lesson. Don't trust anyone blindly. And, definitely, never trust a survivor until you find out what they did to stay alive," Katherine said, looking straight at the werewolf, "Werewolves are all about hierarchy. Being an Alpha is an honor... something you will have to prove every day. So if people start giving you shit because you are a girl, be sure to give it back to them tenfold. Prove them you are a fucking queen, and that you shouldn't be messed with."

"Right. Easy-peasy," The werewolf muttered, sarcastically, as they came into the clearing where Eve was already waiting for the duo.

"Alright, now off you go, and chain yourself up real tight. I am gonna hang these clothes for the other mutts," Katherine said, taking the bags from Hayley's hands. "And then leave the food and drinks."

"Try to be nice, please," Hayley nearly begged, as she decided to follow after Eve, even though she knows it is an absolute waste of breath when it comes to Katherine Pierce.

"Thanks for having my back, though," Hayley said, turning on her heel one last time.

"Just because I helped you; it doesn't mean I care. Your death would've been a minor inconvenience, that's all," Katherine said.

"Yup, I hear you," the wolf said over her shoulder dryly.

"You little piece of..."

"My brain suddenly came up with tons of dog jokes," Katherine muttered, as the wolves came into the clearing, with their clothes on.

"Please don't," someone muttered exhausted, and the vampire pouted dejected.

"Not even one," she urged one more time.

"I am Jackson. Jackson Kenner," the Alpha stepped from the group and said introduced himself.

"The poorly groomed Alpha of the crescent pack," The vampire stated.

"It's hard to get a haircut when you are cursed to turn into a human only on the nights of the full moon," Jackson said with a faint smile, running his fingers through his wild hair, not at all affected by the vampire pun...statement. The wolves were used to the strange vampires' bluntness after the first three times she came along with Hayley.

The wolves were wary of her...and rightfully so, after all the things Marcel and his vampires put them through. They were curious and suspicious as to why on earth a vampire would help an unknown werewolf in finding her cursed 'long last' pack. That too, without asking for help in the first place. From what Hayley told to Eve, Katherine contacted Hayley Marshall first, saying, she has information about her family. Hayley also mentioned that she never heard or saw the vampire before the bizarre phone call she received two months ago. The werewolf, apparently, hasn't even mentioned anyone about her search for her parents, outside her former pack. But somehow, the vampire knew about it. Katherine knew about Hayley's past and also knew the meaning behind the tattoo on her shoulder.

So, yes, the wolves were dubious.

They expected it to be some kind of elaborate plan of Marcel and his men, in an attempt to attack them and wipe out the whole pack once and for all. And they were using Hayley, Jackson's betrothed, as a means to an end. But the thought passed away as soon as it occurred, because, they know Marcel wouldn't be stupid enough to send his vampires to a war they can't win. Not when they knew werewolf bites are fatal to vampires.

Then the more the crescent wolves got to know the eccentric vampire, the less hostile they were. Because, as a werewolf they usually know when the other person is lying. It's an inbuilt mechanism, another one of the gifts that came with the werewolf curse. And, not once has the vampire lied to them throughout their talk. Katherine Pierce was either good at lying, or she was truthful the entire time. But since she is the reason the long last Labonair, Hayley Marshall...Andrea Labonair was with them, they decided to give the vampire benefit of the doubt.

"Hayley brought food," the vampire said to them, "There's crawfish, gumbo, and beer. Help yourselves."

As the wolves followed the smell of the food, Jackson stayed behind. He tucked his hand in the jeans pocket and cleared his throat. "I really wanted to meet, Andrea...Hayley," he corrected, shaking his head a bit.

"Well, she is breaking her bones as we speak," Katherine said, without any subtlety, whatsoever, "but...she asked me to spend the night with you canines, and get to know a bit about you lot. So, how about you grab a beer for both of us, and we can have a little heart to heart."

"I thought something happened to you when you didn't show up until the last minute," Eve said, as soon as the vampire was done with her werewolf documentary. Katherine had every werewolf stand in queue and held a phone in her hand. She started recording every member of the pack as they told her their name and something about them. Something Katherine had to show to Hayley the next day for a better understanding of her cursed family.

"We had a bit of run-in with Marcel," Katherine said, nonchalantly, still looking at her phone. The vampire raised her head when she noticed the sudden quiet in the clearing.

"What happened?" Jackson asked, concerned at the new information. His mind, whirling wild with a lot of situations, and none of them were great.

"Nothing, he just wanted to show he was a king, and that he has rules, about werewolves, running in the quarter," Katherine said, increasing the fear in the wolves with every word she spoke.

"He knows about Hayley?" It wasn't a question.

"Yeah. Apparently, Marcel had someone following us for the past two days. Now that I think about it, that's probably the weird feeling I got the other day," The Petrova doppelganger mumbled to herself.

"You have to leave the city if he knows about you? How did you even escape?" Oliver said.

The vampire gave him an insulting expression. "Do I look like someone who runs from a two-century-old vampire and his novice lackeys? I was Marcel's mentor back in world war I, and I just showed him that he might be a king, but he still has much to learn."

"So, what? You just asked Marcel to shove it, and he stepped aside?" one of the female werewolves asked in a dubious tone.

"Basically," the vampire said, shrugging her shoulders, "We have a deal now. Hayley and I will stay in the city, and we won't meddle in his dealings. In return, the vampires will leave us alone."

"We are just supposed to believe you made a deal with Marcel to let a werewolf stay in the quarter, and you came out of the fight unscratched?" Jackson asked now on his guard. The wolves were standing straight, keeping an eye on the surrounding around them, like they were expecting Marcel's men to jump out of the shadows and attack. Because, if the vampire can't win the fight against wolves in their wolf form, they sure as hell can when they are turned as humans. What if the vampire gave Marcel their location? What if she was playing them all along?

Katherine, as if she realized what was going on in the wolves' head, clicked her tongue and rolled her doe eyes, saying, "I am not here on Marcel's orders. Actually, I don't take orders from anyone. Period. So, put a stopper to whatever scenarios your mind has come up with. Marcel agreed to the deal because I used the Original Hybrid as leverage," the vampire huffed, "I don't call Klaus to New Orleans, concerning the information of you mutts. In return, the Original won't turn you guys into one of his hybrids and try to get revenge on Marcellus, for taking over the city the original's built. It's as simple as that."

When the wolves still looked her with narrowed eyes, Katherine threw her hands in the air, "God! Why is every supernatural so paranoid? I thought it only extended to Klaus and me."

The vampire made an annoying sound in the back of her throat, "How about this? If Marcel's men do come, you can kill me with this stupid stake," said the vampire, breaking the leg of a wooden chair, and throwing it to Jackson Kenner, "And if they don't come today to murder your furry arses, you little shits are going to prepare one big ass apology to me,"

And so they came to an agreement, and when there were just a few minutes left before they shift back to their wolf forms, the wolves turned their guards down and decided to trust Katherine, not to screw up in the future. Jackson Kenner, the current Alpha of the crescent pack, stepped forward, on behalf of the wolves, and said, "We are sorry. We just...we have a lot of bad blood with your kind, and it's hard to trust and definitely hard to trust someone we met a week ago. I mean, Hayley said she never met you before, and you just came out one day one your own to help her with a pack you have no alliance with in the past."

"I am not helping her out of the goodness of my cold dead heart," Katherine cut him off.

"I know that. Andrea- Hayley, said you might want our help in the future. But how are we supposed to believe you to help us when we both know the curse can't be reversed anytime soon. The witch is long dead, and we have lost all hope ages ago," Jackson intervened. "The whole thing is kinda far fetched."

"It might be far-fetched, but it is possible. I know what I am getting into when I decided to come to New Orleans. Werewolves are taboo here, and witches don't have much control with vampires lurking around everywhere. The witches of the French Quarter are living in fear...trying to find ways to increase their power. But Hayley is ready to do anything for her pack. Sure it might take time," Katherine said, waving her hands as she spoke, "But I know Hayley will achieve it if she decides to keep her mind on it. I saw potential in her. So, trust me when I say- if anyone's going to help you free from this stupid curse, then it's Hayley."

The wolves look stunned at the vampire's conviction, and suddenly, they had faith. Maybe there is a future for the Crescent Pack. They could get back to their normal lives...or as normal as the life of a werewolf could be. Maybe...there is hope for them, after all.

"You will get that big ass apology when you...if you come back the next full moon," a female voice from the pack muttered, and Katherine heard it perfectly.

"It better be good," the vampire said, with a hand on her waist.

"It's time," Eve said aloud, and all the werewolves scrambled back to the shadows, waiting for the curse to take effect. Jackson, however, came back after taking a couple of steps. He stood before the vampire and grabbed her in a quick hug and released her before she could say anything, and said, "I am sorry again. I wanted to say, I am glad Hayley is in your care. I know, I should normally say this to Hayley, but since I can't anytime soon, tell her something for me. Hayley and I are betrothed. She was supposed to be my wife. Our parents arranged it when we were little, but things didn't work out in the end, and our packs got cursed for making a huge misstep with vampires. And I know, it must, probably, be a lot for her to hear it, but tell her she is not alone in this, and that, I will be with her till the end. Tell her, this pack is going to follow her until the end for what she is doing."

"Right, no pressure," Katherine said, sarcastically, "I am just going to inform her that she already has a husband from some weird-ass arranged marriage. No biggie."

"Thanks," Jackson said with a wolfish grin and turned around.

"Hey, the next time you try to hug me...I tear out your arms straight off," The vampire warned over the Alpha's shoulder, for which the wolf lifted his hand in the air, and showed her a thumbs-up sign without turning back.

Stupid wolves and stupid hugs. No one's taking Katherine seriously.

While Katherine Pierce was making peace with the wolves in Lousiana, elsewhere, in the Charlotte cemetery of North Carolina, a group of morbid teenagers was smoking pot, and few others were drinking beer, just meters away from Pickett Mausoleum. It is the oldest wing in the largest cemetery, and what many didn't know about it was, in the crypt lies Mikael entombed by a Bennett witch back in the 90s. The Mikael who is known to be called The Destroyer. He is a vampire who hunts vampires.

Oblivious to this, the high school teenagers started to goof around. In their drug-induced minds, they started doing strange things. Like jumping from one tomb to another, believing they were Trazaan, and breaking their bones process, singing the theme song of SquareBob Square pant loudly, or, simply crying their eyes out, with no particular reason.

In the case of Frank Cassar, however, it was his sudden urge to call his girlfriend at 2 am in the midnight to profess his undying love. But unfortunately, he couldn't find a signal, and so Frank started, taking drunken steps towards the direction of the mausoleum, with the nearly empty beer bottle in his other hand. But suddenly, something interesting caught his eye when he reached the particular crypt.

The door of the oldest wing was left wide open, and the top slab of the tomb inside slid open. Frank narrowed his eyes to get a better view. He held out the flashlight in his phone, up in the air, and peaked inside the open tomb. However, the alcohol prevented him from screaming out and running off when he saw a mummified Mikael inside. Someone had broken off the chains around the vampire hunter, but he still laid there, unable to wake up due to the lack of blood.

It so happens that, when the ghosts from the other side came out into the world of living due to a spell gone wrong; Esther had someone go into the cemetery in hopes of trying to wake up Mikael so her husband could put a stop to their son's evil actions, and stop Klaus from creating any more of those abominations called hybrids. However, before the ghost could feed Mikael a bit of blood and wake him up, the necklace of the Original witch was burned by Bonnie Bennett, and the work was left halfway.

But the universe happens to work in mysterious ways.

So, when Frank accidentally tripped over his own leg and broke the bottle in his hand, blood dripped through his fingers and fell on the top of Mikael's mouth, making the vampire open his eyes and regain his senses. By the time the vampire hunter got up, Frank was long gone from the crypt, and Mikael had only one thing in his mind. It's the same thing he had on his mind before the Bennett witch desiccated him.

Kill the latest doppelganger that resides in Mystic Falls.

Only, this time he is going to complete his mission and no witch can stop him.

And that is how Katherine got a phone call from Caroline the next afternoon, informing her of the untimely death of Elena Gilbert...

I know, I know, that's one hell of a cliffhanger no one would've expected. But killing off Elena Gilbert is not done because of Elena haters or something like that, it was only done for the sake of plot development. I mean everything's going too easy, and so I decided to have a plot twist. I don't know how the story goes from now on but I am thinking it will be...good, I guess. I mean, I could always change it if I don't find any new ideas after this. But let's hope everything goes okay.

And, I also wanted to inform you about my new story called, Queen Of the Night. Its a TVD and Avengers crossover. I have bucky and Loki as the main love interests. Check out the story in my profile and tell me how it is, will you?

Thanks. Love you.

I hope you keep on supporting my weird ideas.
