Jaycee and Charlie stood in the guest room getting ready. Jaycee turned to Charlie. "Are you ready for this? Ready to get married?"
Charlie smiled and nodded. "I've been ready for a long time."
"And now it's finally happening." Jaycee smiled. "It's about time Phil came to his senses and made you his wife. Now let's get you married." Charlie nodded and they headed to City Hall.
They walked into the building and Charlie smiled when she saw Phil waiting with John and the others. "I have a few more surprises for you."
She looked at him. "What type of surprises?" She asked.
He smiled. "There are a few people who wanted to come help celebrate."
"Who?" She asked as she turned to the door of the courthouse. Charlie smiled when she saw her parents and grandparents come into view.
"You didn't think I would let you do this without them." He smiled. She smiled "and I needed my best man too." He said as Ethan came in.
"Were you surprised, Aunt Charlie?" Ethan asked her with a smile.
She smiled at him. "Yes, I was." She looked at her nephew. "You knew about this, didn't you?"
"Yes." He smiled. "I wanted you and Uncle Phil together and he needed help."
Charlie laughed. "I love you E."
"I love you too, Aunt Charlie."
"Well, I think it's time to get married." Phil smiled. "Shall we?" He asked her. She smiled and nodded.
Everyone followed them in and they soon stood in front of the judge waiting to be married. "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join this man and woman in marriage. Philip, do you take Charlotte, to be your wife? To love and comfort her from this day forward. For better or worse, For richer or poor until death do you part?"
"A thousand times." He said as he slipped the wedding band on her.
"Charlotte, do you take Philip, to be your husband? To love and comfort him from this day forward. For better or worse, for richer or poor until death do you part?"
"Always." She said as she slipped the ring on his hand.
"Then by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." Phil smiled as he leaned in and kissed her. "May I present Mr. and Mrs. Phil Brooks."
Everyone cheered around them. "Now, to the party." Everyone headed out of the courtroom and to the place where the reception was going to be. Charlie couldn't believe Phil planned everything.
"You did all this for me?"
"Of course." He smiled. "I wanted to give you a great day. And for us to celebrate with our friends and family." He held his hand out to her. "May I have this dance?" She nodded and took his hand and they headed out to the dance floor. This was what she had always wanted. Her and Phil married and a baby on the way. She was getting everything she had ever wanted and she couldn't be happier. He looked at her and kissed her. "Let's head home." She nodded and they turned to the guests. "May I have everyone's attention." He said to them. "Charlie and I would like to thank you for coming and sharing this day with us. Now we are off to start our life together." They both smiled and headed out.
John looked at Jaycee after they left. "Ready to head home too?"
"Yeah. Did you want to leave Ethan with your parents or take him home with us? I know we planned for him to stay with them for the weekend."
"Let's leave him with them." He looked at her. "And we can have some alone time. Because I know once the new one comes, our alone time will be limited."
She nodded. "I agree with that." She smiled and kissed him. "Let's go home."
Charlie and Phil pulled up at the apartment. He looked at her. "Ready for our wedding night?" She smiled and nodded. "Good. But first, I have another surprise for you." He opened the door to the baby's room.
"You did this?" She asked as she looked at the room. It was decorated beautifully and perfect for a child.
"I had some help with the painting but yes, I did." She smiled. "Sage green with jungle animals. Just the way you wanted."
She smiled and kissed him. "It's perfect."
He wrapped his arms around her. "I'm glad you like it." He kissed her. "This is the start of our new life together. You, me, and our child. And I can't wait." He put his hand on her belly. "I'm sorry it took me so damn long to realize what was right in front of me."
"You're forgiven." She smiled and kissed him.
He smiled back. "I love you, Charlie. I always have and I always will."
She smiled. "I love you too. Forever."
"Now, what should we do on our wedding night?"
She smiled and kissed him. "I think we can come up with something to do." He smiled back at her and took her hand and they headed toward the bedroom. It felt good that everything was working out for them.
A few days later, the reunion ended and everyone headed back to their lives. Phil and Charlie were having breakfast and watching the news.
"In entertainment news, drummer for the band Best in the World is off the market. Phil Brooks married long time girlfriend Charlie Cena three days ago in a private ceremony. The two are expecting their first child later this year."
Charlie looked at Phil. "How did they even know that?"
"They know how to get information but now everyone knows."
"Are you okay with that?"
"Yeah, I am." He looked at her. "I want everyone to know I'm taken. I just would have liked to announce it ourselves."
"However everyone knows, they know and we've got each other. And this baby."
He smiled and kissed her. "Yes, we do. And we're recording right now so I get to be home with you and the baby for at least a year."
"That's great." She replied. "I love having you home."
He smiled. "You should rest."
"I'm resting." She smiled. "Being here with you is exactly what I need." He smiled and pulled her close.
Jaycee looked at the room that she had picked for the nursery. She wanted to start decorating it. "Its soon don't you think?"
"No." She said turning to her husband. "This baby will be here before we know it." She looked at him. "John, I thought you were on board with another baby now."
"I am. I just don't want you to over do it."
"I'm not." She replied. "I'm just thinking about how I want the nursery. It has to be done."
"I know and it will." He sighed. "Jaycee, I just want you to rest more and not overdo it. Just to make sure there are no complications. I can't lose you. I almost lost you last time and I won't let it happen again. So, you rest and you can shop online and then I will do the nursery."
She smiled. "Alright."
"Good." He said and headed to the living room. She wished he would relax more about things. She had no doubt that everything was going to be fine this time. That she would have a simple pregnancy and delivery with no complications.
