Leaving Feast

The final weeks of the term flew by for the five friends. It was now the last day, and the leaving feast was in full swing within the great hall. Harry was talking with Adrian Pucey about who they thought would be in the upcoming world cup. Pucey was convinced that Ireland wouldn't make it. It was fun for Harry to pretend that he didn't know who would be in it, much less who would win.

While Harry and Daphne seemed to be immersed in their respective conversations, they were really keeping an eye on the Gryffindor table. Two people mainly had their attention. This was the night they had chosen to take a small vengeance on two of the lions. Harrys ex-best friends were about to see what it meant to betray Harry Potter. The couple had been planning this for some time now. They wanted it to be perfect and not be traceable to them. It helped that the house had been getting pranked viciously since Harry and the others had been resorted.

The house of the lions had been reduced to a bunch of scared kittens. They did their best to walk in groups wherever they went. It didn't help them that they didn't have a full-time head of house yet. Dumbledore had been doing his best to fill in as none of the other teachers wanted anything to do with them. It seemed to be a good thing to him that they were so afraid to be pranked at the moment. If it wasn't for that, Harry had no doubt they would be bouncing off the walls.

He watched Hermione as he ate. She was sitting next to Ron and appeared to be scolding him for eating with his mouth open again. She had a week in the hospital wing for her illness. It seemed not to have affected her, though. She was still yelling at anyone and everyone for not studying as hard as they should. He knew she had the time turner took from her as it was now well known that she had been forced to drop Divination, which she hadn't done in this timeline, and muggle studies. She had been pissed when McGonagall had confronted her about her condition. She had apparently sworn to hurt whoever it was that had turned her in. He absently wondered what she would do if she found out it was him.

They were waiting for the end of dinner. It was close now; he could see Dumbles finishing the last few bites of his lemon pie. Daphne tensed as the old man wiped his mouth from the crumbs that had fallen into his beard. He stood and made his way slowly to the podium that had appeared in front of where he had sat. This was it. He had reached the podium now. He was about to open his mouth when from the Gryffindor table, Hermione shot to her feet.

She began to sing in what was honestly quite a lovely voice,

"To know know know him
Is to love love love him

Just to see that smile

Makes my life worthwhile!"

Everyone stopped talking to stare at the singing brunette. She was belting out the song at the top of her lungs. She was staring at a somewhat befuddled looking Ron. He didn't seem to understand what was going on. He even looked more than a bit scared if truth be told. That is until he took a nerves sip of his goblet, then he just looked determined.

Ron stood from his seat and turned away from the singing Hermione. This didn't surprise anyone; he was dense as stone after all. What did shock them was that he was now looking at a confused Albus Dumbledore. That was when he started to sing in a screechy voice;

"Midnight, gettin' uptight Where are you?
You said you'd meet me, now it's quarter to two
I know I'm hangin' but I'm still wantin' you"

Ron started to move forward as he sang. He was getting closer to a rather pale Headmaster. Hermione was hot on his heels as the hall watched in a mixture of disgust and joy. Then Dumbledore leaned forward on the podium as he watched the two approached. As they neared, Hermione's song came to an end. She had run in front of Ron to make him listen. She was unceremoniously shoved on her arse as he moved by her. She looked back at him, confusion written all over her face as he continued his way to the object of his obsession.

"But Ron, I love you!" She shouted at him.

"Well, I only have eyes for one, and he stands before me!" He replied.

"Mr. Weasley, if you do not stop this foolishness, I will be forced to stun you!" Said the Headmaster, though Harry heard a hint of regret in his words.

"But Headmaster, I've been a bad boy and need punishment! Don't you want to put me in detention with you, sir? Perhaps tonight, I could clean your wand for you!" Ron said in a desperate tone.

The hall as a whole was now a bit green. Harry looked over to see Daphne with an evil sparkle in her eyes as she feigned shock. He made a mental note not to make her mad. He turned back just in time to see Ron dash forward to grab Dumbles in a hug and plant a kiss on him. Midway there, he was struck by a stunner in the back. Hermione's face was now red as a beet as she realized they had just been pranked. She had just worked through the potion they had put in her cup. She dragged a stunned Ron out of the great hall, small tears rolling down her red cheeks. She hoped the man of her dreams was under the influence of a spell or something. She didn't know what she would do if he were a twig and berry man.

They left a befuddled great hall behind. It only lasted about a minute as everyone processed what they had seen. Then they collectively lost it. All but the Gryffindor table, who was looking around waiting for the other shoe to drop. Dumbledore was pale and didn't seem to know where he was at the moment. It took ten minutes for everyone to calm down. No one had ever heard of a prank being pulled at a feast, much less the leaving feast. Whoever did this was a genius in their eyes. It was a great way to leave for the year.

Dumbledore seemed to have forgotten all about his end of year speech. He quickly told them good night and that he would see them next year. He then bolted out of the hall to another roar of laughter. This had not been Albus Dumbledores' year.

Harry and Daphne went back to their rooms to laugh at the joke they had pulled. It had taken them some time to be able to find the right potions. They had needed something undetectable and tasteless. But they had done it. It didn't take long after to get the ingredients with Dobby's help. He had gone and bought them all and brought them to them. He had been at the manor house getting it ready for his new master and mistress but was more than happy to help them with this. They went to sleep that night with broad smiles on their faces. They were wrapped in each other's arms.

(Next day on platform nine and three quarters.)

It had been the first uneventful train ride Harry had ever had. Malfoy hadn't been much of a threat over the last few months. That didn't mean that Harry ever let his guard down over his long time rivel. He just let him go his own way and didn't talk to him. Ron and Hermione had taken a compartment at the very back of the train with Ginny. She had been oddly silent since Daphne, and he had been bonded. He had caught her staring at him in a very lusty way, though.

The train pulled into the station right on time, and the platform was crowded with parents. Harry shrunk all their trunks and stuck his and Daphnes in his pocket. He had let Hedwig fly ahead to the manner and had her cage in his trunk. She had become more of a family owl rather than just Harrys'. She seemed to love Daphne just as much as she did him and was eager to carry any letter for her. It didn't help that most of his mail came through the banishing box now. Though he still didn't get that much mail anyway.

When they stepped on to the platform, they quickly spotted Daphnes' parents standing next to Remus. Their friends' parents were all there talking to each other. Augusta was chuckling. At something, Remus had just said. When they made it to them, a quick round of introductions were made. Then Matthew Greengrass surprised them by informing them they were all invited to come to the world cup. He had managed to get top box seats through his contacts in the ministry. Harry just hoped it wasn't the ministry box.

"Hey cub, you and the misses ready to go?" Asked Remus as the other parents started to leave.

"Now hold on a moment, we wanted to invite you two over for dinner tomorrow night!" Said Isabella.

"We would love to join you for dinner, mum." Replied Daphne as she hugged her mum. This had been hard on the two women. They had been writing back and forth since the bonding. It would be odd not to be home with her parents for the summer. She didn't mind at all that she would be with Harry, but still, it was weird.

"Of course, you would! I mean, come now, who wouldn't want to have dinner with their in-laws?" Asked Matthew with a sly grin to Harry. They had been exchanging letters. At first, it was Harry asking for advice on everything from the wizengamot to different pureblood customs. They had started to become closer through these letters.

"Should I remind you over what you told me of your first dinner with the in-laws?" Harry asked coyly.

"ah, would you look at the time? Come on, dear, why don't we get Astoria home, huh?" He was looking around shiftily. As if his Father-in-law would pop out of nowhere.

"Well, I suppose…" Started Isabella before she and Astoria were almost dragged off the platform.

The other stood there in stunned silence as they watched them go. "Was it really that bad?" Asked Remus.

"Oh yes, Grandfather threatened to cut off his manhood if he ever touched mom. If it weren't for Grandmother, they wouldn't have been married. Dad is still afraid of him to this day." Daphne was having trouble holding in her laughter.

"Well, I suppose that would scare me too." Smiled Remus. "Shall we then?"

They made their way to the flew network. It was odd thinking that there was a fireplace on a train platform, and the Weasleys insisted on coming through the muggle entrance. They quickly found themselves in an opulent entrance hall. The Potter crest of two gold Griffins on a red shield was emblazoned on the marble floor.

"HARRY POTTER SIR IS HOME!" Dobby yelled as he popped in to the room, scaring them all half to death. "AND YOUS BE BRINGING MISSISS DAFFY!"

At the Daffy comment, Remus lost it. He didn't even care when Daphne sent a stinging hex to his butt, as he doubled over. "Ah, Dobby, how about no more yelling unless it is needed," Harry suggested. "Also, of course, I brought Daphne. She is my wife, you know, I couldn't just leave her on the platform."

"Oooh, it is so good to have my families home. It was a bit lonely, not having much to do!" cried Dobby as he rushed up and wrapped Harrys' legs in a hug. Then he jumped onto Daphne's legs. "Can Dobby be givings a tour?" He asked, finally letting them go.

"That would be lovely, Dobby." Daphne replied she wasn't sure what to think of the excitable elf at first. After the first couple of meetings, though, he had begun to grow on her. However, the Daffy thing was going to have to stop… at least in front of guests. Remus was still howling with laughter, saying something about needing to tell Sirius. She sent another stinging hex at the man. This one though, hit between his legs, dropping him to the floor in pain. All thoughts of telling Sirius anything quickly left his mind.

They took a quick tour of the large manor. It was beautiful, with fifteen rooms. A formal and informal sitting room. A large ballroom and a large formal dining room. The family dining room was right off a large beautiful kitchen.

The young couple loved it. But the room they loved the most was the master bedroom. It was amazing. It was decorated in deep mahogany and dark blue. There was a large bathroom with both a sizeable jacuzzi tub, perfect for two, and a large walk-in shower. The colors of the bathroom were white marble floors and emerald green walls. The fixtures were wall silver. They both had their own wardrobe. There was a large vanity for Daphne next to her wardrobe. Harry had a small table for jewelry and the like by his.

After the tour, the three made their way down to the family dining room. Dobby had been practically bouncing off the walls the whole time. He said he had a special dinner of roast duck for that night. They sat down at the table, Harry pulling out Daphne's chair for her.

"So, you two wanted to talk to me?" Asked Remus as the succulent meal appeared before them.

Harry looked to Daphne, who gave him an encouraging smile. "Yes, we did. You see, we have been thinking that now that you aren't working, you will need a place to stay. We also know that Sirius will need a place as well. He will also need some help to get around now that he is free. So we figured you might want to stay with him in a small house in the village up the road from here. We had thought of inviting you here, but figured you might want some space of your own."

"Harry, that's nice of you, but…" Remus started but was quickly cut off by Daphne.

"No, buts mister. Harry told me how you could be. This isn't charity. In fact, we want you and Sirius to run a charity we wish to start. It is going to be called the Lilly Foundation for muggle-borns. We want to help them learn more about how our world works. We also wish to start an orphanage for any muggle-born who is thoroughly out of their family." She explained. "It won't be easy to get support, and you will have to work hard. We hopped this would help all of us, not just you two."

To say Remus was stunned would be an understatement. To think that two thirteen-year-olds had such high goals. However, as he thought of it, the more he liked it. It would give him a challenge again. Something to fight for and a rewarding end to that fight. Then he thought of the charity's name's sake. He saw Lilly in Daphne. She had a heart of fire and was ready to fight for what she believed it. That Harry also had that drive left little doubt in his mind that they would accomplish any goal they set for themselves. That they were offering him a place in those goals left him with unshed tears.

"I'll do it." He croaked through a broad smile.

A/N: I do not own the songs in this chapter. If you would like to listen to them, you would have to look up their rightful owners Amy Winehouse (To Know Him, Is to Love Him) and Joan Jett And The Blackhearts (I Hate Myself for Loving You). I hope you liked this chapter!
