Hello there dear readers,

welcome to The End of Crescent, as I promised before I am going to be rewriting the entire series and as such, this is the last chapter of Book 1.

I am very happy with this and where this is going so I hope you all stay tuned for more. BTW would you prefer for me to open another story or to continue posting on this one? What say you, dear readers?

Anyway! I truly hope you enjoy this one.

much love,

Alex

I stared at my reflection in the mirror.

It was in moments like these that I dreaded to be Bella Swan and not Alexandra Noir. I looked cute, beautiful even, and I was sure Edward was going to match my dress perfectly. Alice and Rosalie had just exited the room to get their dresses. I frowned at my reflection again and stuck my tongue out, it looked so weird on me.

"Bella, sweetheart, are you okay?" Esme asked softly from the doorway.

I sighed and turned to look at her, "am I that transparent?"

Esme smiled at me as she walked into the room and sat next to me on the settee, "despite your obvious maturity, you're a teenager, Bella, and you should be allowed to act like one on occasion."

I bit back a comment on how I was not exactly a teenager at all, but it was Esme talking and she didn't deserve my venom, so I instead offered a tired smile.

"This is exhausting, I truly don't know how the guys manage to go back to High School again and again, nor Carlisle to med school, once is certainly enough for me, also, haven't you guys thought about going to college instead of the high school thing? It would certainly be easier to blend in, nobody ever notices anything while in college, hell you and Carlisle would definitely rock the college sweethearts' scene," I told her as she began fiddling with my hair.

Esme laughed and shook her head, "We've thought about it, but remember that it is only now that girls are able to get a better education, it is easier to enroll in school rather than in college, and sorry to disappoint you Bella, but Carlisle and I, we wouldn't be able to rock that particular scene."

I looked at Esme confused, "why the hell not? You guys are like the cutest couple ever."

"Pretty convincing, aren't we?" Esme said with a wink.

And suddenly many things made sense in my existence, "Esme," I said accusingly, "you guys are married, aren't you?"

Esme smiled and shook her head, "I thought you knew, Bella."

"I don't know everything, besides, you two were like my couple's goal reference, my life is a lie," I said in mock horror.

Esme laughed and patted my shoulder gently, "much like you and Edward, Carlisle is my best friend, I was not ready for a relationship back then, not when I had just lost my child, nor when I just had gotten myself out of an abusive relationship, and well, Carlisle is a fantastic man, patient too, and there was Edward, such a sweetheart trying to get us together, but it didn't work out, not everything does."

I pulled Esme into a hug, "you don't have to tell me that, I know first-hand."

"As Alex or Bella?" Esme asked as she let go of me.

"As Alex," I told her softly, "there was this guy, Jake, a total idiot, but I liked him, or she did, who knows anymore, anyways, the guy was using me to further his career and I was blind to it, and I worked so hard for that relationship, I was almost another person altogether and then for what? He found another girl, got engaged less than six months later."

"Most men are idiots," Esme said as she handed me a glass of sparkling wine.

I raised an eyebrow at her as I took it, "you do know that I am currently a minor?"

"I won't say if you don't," Esme promised with a wink, "besides, you look like you need it."

"Thanks," I said before I downed the whole thing.

"Not even a flinch! That's impressive," Emmett said from the doorway, a grin on his face.

"Well, moonshine boy, a girl needs to have a trick or two under her sleeve," I told him with a smirk as I stood from the settee and smiled at Esme, "little help with my dress?"

"Sure," Esme said with a smile.

[Dancing in the Moonlight by Toaploader playing in the distance]

I laughed as I danced alongside Alice and Jessica, a nice buzz had settled in my head thanks to the spiked punch, courtesy of Mike and Tyler and Alice and I had convinced Jessica to join us dancing while our dates, Edward, Jasper and Mike, stood by the food table looking at us. Rosalie had raised an eyebrow at me when I had suggested dancing to that song but Alice had jumped right in just as Emmett had handed me another glass of punch.

At the end, Esme had been right, I needed to let go and act like a teenager from time to time, besides, I was Bella, not Alex, not anymore, so I had to deal with it. So here I was, getting wasted at prom night and dancing my worries away with my friends. I twirled Alice and Jessica in turn twirled me as we continued to laugh and just move to the beat of the music, young and careless and without a worry in the world and just as Dancing in the Moonlight was ending someone in the crowd shouted Thriller and I was once again dancing and laughing without a care in the world.

My head was pounding and the light was hurting me. I groaned as I tried to hide my face in the pillow that I was currently sleeping on when I heard giggling. I lifted my head and squinted my eyes at Alice who was looking way too chipper for the kind of morning that I was having.

"Hello Bella," she greeted me.

I let out a small growl as I tried to hide under the covers and just ignore her presence.

"Esme made breakfast, and there is a pot of fresh coffee with your name on it," Alice informed me.

I lifted my head and once again squinted my eyes at the vampire that was standing in the doorway, "Alice if you're lying to me I will not be held responsible for what I might do."

Alice lifted her hands innocently, "No lies, everyone is quite worried about you, you drank through Carlisle's wine rack, which was an extraordinary feat for a human, then of course you destroyed Emmett at Karaoke and then professed your undying love for Esme, all while holding to a bottle of tequila that you managed to snatch from Jasper's room, at one point we thought that you were going to die of alcohol poisoning."

"Huh?" I said as I pushed myself to sit, "you guys need to trust Carlisle a little more, I'm sure that the good doctor wouldn't have let me die such a boring death."

"Sure, because zip lining is obviously the way to go," Alice said as she crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow at me.

"That hurt, Alice, right here," I said pointing at my heart.

Alice smirked and rolled her eyes as she made her way into the room and sat next to me on the bed, "by the way, Emmett got drunk."

"He what?" I asked confused.

"Well, drunk you had some fantastic ideas about vampires and getting drunk, and he went into the forest, got a bear, got the bear drunk and then drank the bear, he got drunk," Alice explained.

"Oh, wow, I didn't think that was going to work, like ever, that's fantastic!" I said as I stood quickly, "There are like twenty more theories that I want to try!"

Alice rolled her eyes and grabbed me before I could dash out of the room, "bath first, ideas later, you smell like alcohol, is annoying."

I walked into the Cullen's living room refreshed and with my hair still damp from the bath that Alice had basically forced me into. Emmett was the first to greet me, pulling me into a bear hug and thanking me for improving his immortal existence. Once Esme managed to pry me away from Emmett's grasp she led me to the kitchen where breakfast was served on the counter, I sat at one of the stools and began eating.

"Good morning, Bella," Carlisle said as he sat next to me.

"Sup doc, sorry about your wine," I said with my most charming smile.

"Do not worry about it, it's not as if I could drink it anyway," he assured me with a kind smile, "I am curious about what other ideas you could have about vampires."

"Carlisle, she's eating, I'm sure you can quiz her later," Esme chided him gently as she handed him the newspaper.

Carlisle looked at her, an innocent smile on his face and nodded, "of course."

"By the way, Tanya just called, Laurent made it to Denali and he told them about Bella, they want to meet her," Esme told him.

Carlisle looked at me and then back to Esme, "they want to meet Bella?"

"Well, yes, you know how they are, Kate is curious, now even more since Laurent turned out to be Irina's mate." Esme explained.

"Well, Bella" Carlisle turned to me, "If you are willing we could organize a trip, tell Charlie that you're going with Esme and the girls to visit my cousins in Alaska for the summer."

"Sure, I've never been to Alaska before," I told him as I took a sip of my coffee.

Carlisle looked at Esme and smiled, "it's set, if you want to, I'll talk to Charlie myself."

"Sure, go ahead, I'll start preparing the trip," Esme said, then looked at me "You're sure about this?"

"Of course, is not as if I had something grand planned for this summer," I was quick to assure her.

Esme smiled at me before she left the kitchen, I looked at Carlisle who was reading the newspaper and smiled to myself, I just couldn't wait for summer to actually begin.
