A/N: The title kinds of give the story away. Well, it's about Gohan and Videl's first kiss. I guess that's all I need to say, plus studying with the person you like is a bad idea. Really. Bad. Idea. ;)

EAST DISTRIC, MOUNT PAOZU
It was a new day at Mount Paozu. Gohan woke up early for school. He's excited not only for school, but more than that, to see that special girl. Everyday he's growing more fond of her. Everyday his desire to have her grows more and more.
Being close to her, being her friend makes it harder. Yes, he can always see her, talk to her, hang out with her. But more and more, his feelings grow for her, yet he can't really treat her as special as he wants. He can't even spend some time alone with her. He can't even stop other guys from courting her.
Chi-Chi was quite surprised to see him up that early. Early and giddy.
Gohan: Good morning, Mom!
He went to the kitchen table ready to have his breakfast.
Chi-Chi: Gohan! You're up early today.
Gohan: Yeah... I miss having breakfast before starting the day.
Chi-Chi: Is that really the reason?
Chi-Chi gave him a teasing smile, making Gohan embarrassed.
Chi-Chi: Oh well, I'm about to finish cooking so you wait a little back there.
Gohan: Do you need some help, Mom?
Chi-Chi: Nah! I'm fine. But, maybe you can tell me some stories about you and Videl.
GOHAN: (blushing) What do you wanna know about?
CHI-CHI: Oh, you know... How is it between the two of you? Have you started dating?
Gohan's face turned more red at his mother's question.
CHI-CHI: You know, thinking about it, you've been going home from school quite early recently.
GOHAN: Well, she thinks I should spend more time with Dad since he just came back.
CHI-CHI: Oh! How sweet of her to say that!
Gohan smiled proudly.
GOHAN: And also, she said she wants to spend more time with her dad as well.
CHI-CHI: It seems like they have a lot to talk about since what happened.
GOHAN: Yeah...
CHI-CHI: It's good that Mr. Satan is already being honest with her. She deserves to know the truth.
GOHAN: Mom, you don't hate Mr. Satan that much anymore, do you?
CHI-CHI: It can't be helped. If you're going to marry Videl someday, then I have to accept him in our lives.
GOKU: Who's getting married?
Gohan and Chi-Chi looked at Goku who just entered the kitchen. He's carrying Goten whose eyes are still half-closed.
CHI-CHI: Gohan and Videl. But, not yet now. They have to finish school first.
GOHAN: (blushing) Mom...
CHI-CHI: Oh, don't be embarrassed! You know you like it as well.
Goku and Goten just stare at the mother and son's banter about Gohan's future with Videl. They still have the air of sleepiness around them with Goku yawning and Goten's eyes still half-closed.
ORANGE STAR HIGH SCHOOL
Gohan arrived at the rooftop ten minutes before the start of the class. He turned off his costume and hurried inside the building. As he was approaching their classroom, Videl is also walking from the opposite side to the same destination.
The two of them stopped a few feet away from the door, then stared at each other smiling. Both of them are also blushing as embarrassment and glee wash over them.
GOHAN: Hi...
VIDEL: Hello...
The two of them just stood there, facing one another, smiling at each other. It seems they don't want to leave and do anything, if only Erasa did not arrive to join them.
ERASA: Videl! Gohan! Good morning, you guys!
She went to Videl and held her arm.
GOHAN: Good morning, Erasa! (on his mind) It seems Erasa and Videl are okay now. That's nice.
He looks at them as the two talks jubilantly.
Minutes passed and the classes started. Erasa has returned to her seat in between Videl and Gohan.
TEACHER: You have at least a week to prepare for your midterm exams. The test includes everything that we have discussed so far.
ERASA: Hmn... I think I need a group study again. Hey Videl!
VIDEL: Hmn?
ERASA: That Rayon guy seems to be quite smart. Do you think we could crash to his place and do a group study?
Gohan suddenly felt worried about what Erasa said. He looked at the two ladies on his right.
VIDEL: Rayon...?
ERASA: Yeah...
Erasa secretly winks at her, and Videl realized what she's doing.
ERASA: He seems like a cool guy, anyway.
GOHAN: What about me? I can help you study.
ERASA: Oh, come on, Gohan! Your house is far away from here. As if your parents will allow you to do a group study.
GOHAN: I can try.
ERASA: Don't worry about it, Gohan. I'm sure Rayon will be a good study partner. What do you think, Videl?
Again, Erasa gave her a meaningful look.
VIDEL: Well, I guess we could ask him.
Videl looked at Gohan after saying that. He was obviously disappointed at what she said. She suddenly contemplated if she had done the right thing.
During lunch break, Videl asked Erasa about her plans for her and Gohan. They were at their favorite spot at the school cafeteria, waiting for Gohan and Sharpner to arrive.
VIDEL: Are we really doing that group study?
ERASA: Of course not! I'm pretty sure Gohan will do everything for you to not come to that group study. Well, if he really loves you, that is.
Videl worried about what Gohan will do about her doing a group study with Rayon. What if he didn't do anything and just allowed it to happen?
VIDEL: What if he just let me do it?
ERASA: Well, if that's the case, he's a bummer and he deserves to feel jealous.
VIDEL: But... how about Rayon? Are you really asking him about it?
ERASA: I don't know. Maybe we don't have to.
Sharpner and Gohan joined Erasa and Videl. They both put down their lunch boxes on the table.
ERASA: Oh, hi guys! What took you so long?
SHARPNER: Heh! Blame Gohan for that. After that exhibition during the PE class, he has somehow gained some fan girls.
Videl stiffened. Her chopsticks stopped mid-air after hearing what Sharpner said. She looks at Gohan who is laughing shyly at them.
ERASA: Oh really? Wow, Gohan! You seem to be becoming famous more and more... Oh, hi Rayon!
Rayon walked towards their table.
ERASA: Why don't you join us? Actually, there's something I would like to ask you about.
Rayon puts down his lunch box on the table and joined the group.
RAYON: What is it?
ERASA: I was wondering if you can help us study for the exams.
RAYON: Us, as in you and...
ERASA: Oh... Videl.
Rayon looked at Videl who is obviously shocked at the sudden turn of events. She looked at Erasa, questioning her of the change of plans.
RAYON: Really?
ERASA: Yeah... Well, if that's okay with you.
RAYON: Of course, it is!
Rayon is obviously overjoyed. A wide smile plastered on his face.
RAYON: How about we start on Saturday? We could study the whole day. I will ask my mom to prepare some good snacks for us to eat while we study.
ERASA: That is so nice! I'm so excited!
Rayon looked at Sharpner.
RAYON: Are you coming as well?
SHARPNER: Nah! I already have a study partner.
Sharpner gave them a cocky smile.
ERASA: And who could that be?
SHARPNER: Someone from my Science class. She's my lab partner, and she's really good.
RAYON: Well, the way that sounds, it seems you plan on doing more than study. Good luck on that.
SHARPNER: Thanks, Mate.
Rayon then looked at Gohan.
RAYON: I don't suppose you want to join as well, Gohan. You don't need a study group being the smart ass you are.
ERASA: Oh, and he lives quite far away so that would be inconvenient for him.
GOHAN: I could join you on Saturday.
ERASA: And just leave early because you can't stay out late? That's what happened during our trip in the amusement park, remember?
Gohan was a little humiliated at what Erasa said. He looked down at his lunch box, and Videl felt bad for him. She gave Erasa a sharp look, but the latter just smiled at her, even giving her a wink.
RAYON: Okay, it's settled then. I'll be expecting you on Saturday, okay?
And so, it's settled. Videl and Erasa will study at Rayon's house on Saturday. Videl is still not wanting the idea, or the scheme that Erasa is trying to pull off. She talked to her friend about it.
VIDEL: You told me you won't really tell Rayon about it.
ERASA: That was the plan, but when I saw you feeling bad about Gohan being mobbed by his fan girls, I thought I should say something.
She was quite touched at Erasa's thoughtfulness, but she still feels bad upon remembering Gohan's reaction earlier.
VIDEL: You kind of said some bad things about Gohan. He obviously felt bad.
ERASA: I guess so... Don't worry, I'll talk to him later. And I also would make him realize he has to make a move before other guys does. You might be in love with him, but that does not give the right to take you for granted just like that.
Videl blushed. She's still not used to hearing someone say her feelings loudly.
ERASA: But don't worry about it. I will do it as discreetly as possible.
After class, Erasa approached Gohan as he was walking towards the school exit.
ERASA: Hey Gohan!
Gohan stopped walking.
GOHAN: Oh! Hey...
ERASA: Can we talk?
GOHAN: Sure...
ERASA: I just want to apologize about what I said earlier. You know, about you living far away not being able to do join study groups.
GOHAN: It's okay. It's true, so...
ERASA: But you know, if you really wanna join, then go! No one is stopping you.
GOHAN: Huh?
ERASA: And, maybe you and Videl could study together instead. I think I might enjoy Rayon's company more if we're alone. You know.
Erasa winked at him flirtatiously.
GOHAN: You mean...
ERASA: I mean, I'd appreciate it if you keep Videl from coming to his house... Oh well, I hope you can figure it out yourself.
Erasa walked past Gohan, wishing he was able to get the messaged she wanted to relay on him.
MR. SATAN'S MANSION, SATAN CITY
Saturday

Videl is about to go to Rayon's house. She met her father as she went down the grand staircase of their lavish mansion.
MR. SATAN: You're leaving?
VIDEL: Yeah! I'm going to that study group I told you yesterday.
MR. SATAN: Okay. Study hard and learn a lot.
VIDEL: Yeah, whatever.
As they were talking, the intercom connecting the main house to the guardhouse chimed in. The butler was efficient enough to answer the call.
MR. SATAN: Who could that be? I'm not expecting a visitor today.
BUTLER: Sir, there's a young man named Gohan waiting outside the gate. Should we let him in?
The father and daughter are surprised at what the butler said. Videl's heart suddenly pounded.
MR. SATAN: Gohan? (looks at Videl) You're going with him?
Videl shook her head.
VIDEL: No... He didn't say he's coming.
MR. SATAN: That's weird. I don't think he came here for me. Oh well, let him in!
The butler once again talked to the intercom.
MR. SATAN: Why do you seem fidgety all of a sudden?
VIDEL: Huh?
Mr. Satan gave his daughter a teasing smile. Videl scowled at her father.
VIDEL: I'm not fidgeting!
Gohan then enters the house, stunning Videl. He smiled shyly as he walked towards them, making Videl's heart somersault.
MR. SATAN: Gohan! Nice to see you again.
GOHAN: Good morning, Mr. Satan...
He then looked at Videl.
GOHAN: Hi, Videl.
Gohan blushed as he smiled shyly at her. Videl is so overwhelmed she wasn't able to talk. She just looked at him, and Gohan just looked back.
Mr. Satan sensed the romantic tension between the two. He cleared his throat to get their attention, and to make them remember that he's still with them.
MR. SATAN: I suppose you're joining the study group, Gohan?
Gohan looked at Mr. Satan.
GOHAN: Well, I do want to join. But, I would like it better if me and Videl would study alone.
Videl felt her throat dry at what Gohan said. Did he just tell her father that he wants to be with her alone? Just the two of them together?
Meanwhile, what Gohan said made Mr. Satan frown. Gohan sensed the boldness of what he just said, and that made him more nervous than what he's already feeling that moment.
GOHAN: I mean... Erasa told me she wants to be alone with Rayon, so she said me and Videl should just study together.
That's it? That's the reason he said that? Videl suddenly felt disappointed. Is that really the reason why Gohan wants them to study together?
MR. SATAN: (sarcastic) Really?
Gohan blushed at Mr. Satan's reaction.
GOHAN: Yes, Sir. Really...
Whatever excitement Videl was feeling earlier are all washed out with Gohan's confirmation. Her smile faded as he looked down at her feet.
MR. SATAN: Well, in that case, you can use my study to study. (laughs heartily) Get that? Study at my study?
Gohan laughed awkwardly with him. He looked at Videl and was a little confused upon seeing her sad.
Mr. Satan called their butler and instructed him to take the two to his study room. He also told him to give them some snacks.
Videl and Gohan followed the butler to Mr. Satan's study. The room is a very serene room filled with books and Gohan looked around in awe.
GOHAN: This room is awesome!
VIDEL: Yeah... Dad wanted to have a library inside his house because he said that's what rich people usually have in their houses. He barely reads anything from here.
GOHAN: Really? He doesn't read these books?
Videl shook her head. She noticed his enthusiasm as he looks around, making her smile.
VIDEL: If you want, you can borrow some. These books need some love from a reader.
GOHAN: How about you? You don't read them?
Videl grimaced.
VIDEL: I'm not really the reading type.
GOHAN: You should be. Do you know that books can take you to places you never thought you could go?
Videl smiled at Gohan's zest. He looks like a kid being treated to the most wonderful theme park in the world. That's how he looked like when they went to the amusement park.
VIDEL: You love books, huh?
GOHAN: I do... Well, if you live in the mountain region and all you see is green fields and lush forest, books are great companions.
VIDEL: Oh, your place is wonderful.
GOHAN: Yeah... It nurtured our family and provided a lot of our needs. Father once told me that he used to live there alone, and he never had a problem with food or anything he needs. He said he can find anything in the forest.
VIDEL: I guess your father lived a very adventurous life during his youth.
GOHAN: He sure did.
Videl watched as Gohan smiled fondly as he remembers his father. She smiled as she watched that innocent smile of him play on his lips. Sweet Gohan, oh how she loves seeing his smile! And now she's staring at that smile for as much as she wants.
GOHAN: So... Should we start studying?
Videl blushed as her train of thoughts lead her somewhere she should not be at the moment. She needs to focus on her study or Gohan would think she's an irresponsible girl wanting only to be with him.
VIDEL: Yeah... let's go.
There is a long table inside the room with twelve chairs around. Videl sat on one of the chairs and Gohan sat beside her, making her heart race again. She tried to ignore that and focused on what they are about to study.
GOHAN: So, where do you wanna start?
Videl looks at the book she took out from her school bag.
VIDEL: How about Math? I really don't like Math.
She grimaced at him, making him chuckle.
GOHAN: Math is easy. You just have to be not scared.
VIDEL: Scared? I'm not scared of Math!
GOHAN: Oh, really? So how come you don't like it?
VIDEL: It's not interesting to study.
GOHAN: So, what do you find interesting?
Videl shrugged.
VIDEL: Sports?
GOHAN: Ah... I see. Well, you're doing great in sports so we don't need to review on that. Don't worry. I'll try as much as possible to make Math interesting to you.
Videl looked at him. If he only knows that everything with him is interesting. She looks away as she felt her face blush.
VIDEL: Did... Did Erasa really said that to you?
GOHAN: Huh?
VIDEL: That she wants to be alone with Rayon.
GOHAN: Yeah, that's what she said. I didn't even know that she likes him.
VIDEL: (on her mind) If you only know, Gohan. If you only know.
If he only knows the real reason why Erasa said that, Videl wondered what his reaction would be. Would he still come and give her the same treatment he's giving her right now? Will it be better because he'll find out what she really feels for him? She tried to suppress a smile at that thought.
Gohan started teaching her their lessons on Math. In fairness to him, Videl finds him a good teacher. He explains everything better than their teachers did. For the first time she felt she likes studying Math.
After a while the butler came in bringing them snacks. He also told them her father went to a meeting, but he will be back to join them at lunch.
They continued studying when the butler left. This time, Gohan gave her problems to solve. At first, he showed her how to do it, then he lets her do it on her own. At first it was difficult for her, to the point she was getting frustrated. But Gohan stayed calm and patient on her, making her not totally lose her cool.
GOHAN: If you start getting frustrated, then it will just get worse. You just have to relax and take it easy. Little by little you'll get the hang of it. Before you know it, you can solve any Math problems you're faced with. Here, let me show you again how you use this formula.
Gohan starts explaining the formula to her. After that, she finally got how it works and was able to solve some problems on her own.
Gohan: See? I told you it's that easy.
Videl smiles proudly at him, feeling grateful of his help.
Gohan: Now, let's try the next one. I'll show you first how to do it, then you do it on your own. Let me solve this problem first.
Gohan goes on solving the problem on the paper. Videl just looks at him, not on the solution he's writing, but on his cute face. She's wondering how a person can be so perfect. Yes, Gohan is perfect as he is. He's not only smart, but he's strong and brave. He saved the world for crying out loud! And not only that. He's the most pure-hearted soul that Videl ever met. His kindness exudes from him, giving that innocent charm that captivates anyone who comes to his life.
And to top it all, he also got the looks to match that. His black eyes that stares at you with that pureness and kindness that he has. Those same eyes that when on battle mode, turns fierce and formidable giving that knightly aura making every girl swoon. Videl remembers how Gohan looked like during his fight with Rayon. That intense look that he had, it really turned her on.
Videl bit her lower lip at the memory. She watched as Gohan busies himself solving the Math problem making his face looked focused. That look suddenly gave her the same feeling she had back then at the martial arts class. She suddenly felt turned on.
She felt thirsty, her palm sweaty as she felt some knots form inside her stomach. She swallowed as her eyes found Gohan's lips. She felt the urge to kiss him there, and it was so strong she wasn't able to resist.
Gohan stopped writing when he felt Videl's lips touch his. It was a short kiss, as she immediately pulls away, but it's enough to get his attention and stop whatever he's doing. He looked at her, his hand still not moving as he felt his mind go blank. He gapes at her, who in return stares at him also not knowing what to say.
Gohan totally forgot what he was doing a while ago. His eyes just focused on Videl, and that kiss suddenly awakened something inside him that seems to overpower his whole soul. He doesn't know what that is; all he knows is that it makes him want to reciprocate what Videl just did to him a few seconds ago.
His hand dropped the pencil he's holding as he held her face while he leaned forward and kissed Videl on the lips. It was longer than the first one, but being inexperienced he just placed his lips on her mouth then pulled away again. He looked at her inquisitively as if asking if what he did was okay. Videl answered by moving closer and wrapping her arms around his neck, then kissing him more deeply.
Gohan's free hand grabbed Videl's back pulling her closer to him. As they go on, they started knowing what to do as they opened their mouths and move their lips against each other.
As their lips started to move in synch, they also started feeling the sensations that the union brings unto them. Gohan's mind is slowly drifting onto dreamland when he suddenly stiffened. He suddenly lets go of Videl, making her stunned for a while until she also felt the familiar energy coming towards their location. Both of them shifted away from each other just a few moments before they heard some knock on the door. Videl looked at it with wide eyes, feeling her heart rate doubles again after it suddenly relaxed when they pulled away from that kiss seconds ago.
Videl: C-Come in...
Videl swallowed after she stammered those words out of her mouth. She knows who the person they are about to meet, but she still was surprised to see Erasa peek into the room.
Erasa: There you are!
She went inside the room then walks toward them, stopping in front of the table.
Videl: W-What are you doing here?
Erasa: I was wondering if I could join you study.
Erasa suddenly frowned.
Erasa: You two look flushed.
Videl looked away while Gohan looked down on his paper. Erasa gave them a teasing smile.
Erasa: You two are studying, right?
Videl looked back at her, her face turning into a deeper red.
Videl: O-Of course we are! W-What else... s-should we be doing?
Videl cringed as she noticed how high her voice sounded. That made Erasa giggle. She sat down on a chair beside Gohan.
Videl: A-Aren't you supposed to be with Rayon?
Erasa: (quite irritated) Oh, yeah! I went to their house, alright. When he found out you're not coming, he suddenly flared up! That moron! He got mad so much he continuously yelled at me. I'm never befriending him again.
Videl: He did that?
Videl suddenly felt guilty at her friend's fate. If only she had come with her, that shouldn't have happened.
Erasa: Yes, so you better promise we won't talk to that Rayon again.
Videl didn't answer, but she swore to herself that if Rayon ever did something bad to her best friend again, then she'll make him pay.
Erasa: So, what are you studying? Oh, Math? Can we just do another subject? I don't like Math.
Gohan: S-Sure... Yes, of course, we can.
Gohan rummaged through his books.
Gohan: How about... how about Grammar?
He took his Grammar book raising it upward.
Erasa: Yes! Let's do Grammar.
And so, they went on to study their Grammar lessons. Gohan is in between the two girls, and somehow Videl was glad that they have Erasa to neutralize the ambience and bring them back to study mode.
