So I knew that if I didn't update during lockdown you would never forgive me XD
I want your opinion on something as my readers. I was thinking about doing a buy me a coffee donation thing on gofundme or . Just like a $1-$2 donation for people who want to show appreciation or support me by donating. I was curious would anyone actually donate if I sent one up. If not, that's fine and understandable and I love and appreciate all of my readers especially those who take the time to review. I also think this will also help me put more pressure on myself to update faster. Let me know your honest opinions.
Thank you to my readers and followers. Thank you to Jazzilynn Hall for beta'ing.
Thank you to StilinskiMikaelson, Wika0304, iynasan, John Lenard, xVentressx, HanaeTahashi for the reviews. It always brings me a smile.
I am one review away from 150 now! I hope you like it and remember to read and review :D
So after a few hours of searching, I manage to find a bar in this base. One that is closed but looks relatively new. I guess they are still working on it. It looks like they are trying to extend the roof so the Autobots can fit but currently they can't which is perfect for me. It means I won't get disturbed. But lucky for me, it's stocked with some alcohol. I start with the strongest drink I can find but it only affects me for some short minutes before the nanites heal me. That doesn't deter me. I also brought some paper and a pencil with me. It's been too long since I've designed something to invent or modify and I've had an idea in the back of my mind for quite some time. I don't notice the passage of time until long after I finished designing my product and all I have left to focus on is the drink.
"Vi, there you are. I've been looking for you everywhere," comments Sideswipe curious.
I turn my head to the new voice, seeing Sideswipe's optic to the door. He must be on his hands and knees.
"Is that a bar?" questions Sideswipe curiously.
Suddenly, his holoform appears before me.
"Everyone, I've found her! Sending her location now. She's at the bar!" states Sideswipe enthusiastically to the rest of the Autobots.
Great. My peace is truly gone now.
I knock back the rest of my drink eagerly. It tastes horrible, mixing all the strongest drinks I could find but the result is as desired. My throat burns and my head feels fuzzy. I ignore Sideswipe's pestering questions as I lean over the bar and mix more drinks, spilling a little bit of it.
"Hey, what's that? Is it like high grade? Can I taste?" asks Sideswipe curiously.
Before I can protest, Sides takes the drink out of my hand and takes a gulp. I swipe it back right before he spits it back out.
"That is disgusting. It's strong and burns but it tastes like molten slag," complains Sideswipe wiping his mouth.
"That's why you shouldn't take what doesn't belong to you," I chastise before I take another swig.
"What's she doing?" asks another voice behind me, making me choke and spit out my drink in surprise.
I half turn to see Sunstreaker as I cough and hit my chest.
"See? You don't like it too," comments Sideswipe as I cough, gasping for air.
"She's choking, you idiot," comments Sunstreaker passively watching me.
"Choking?" inquires Sideswipe before his eyes go dim, searching up the word.
When his eyes get brighter, his face is alarmed.
"Slag! Where's Ratchet? Shouldn't we give her the Heimlich or something?" panics Sideswipe coming round my front.
My coughs have gone down but it's still lingering.
"Don't you dare," I seethe at Sideswipe, pointing a finger at him.
But he ignores me, looking behind me instead.
"Ratchet! Hurry up! She's choking!" wails Sideswipe looking behind me.
I turn fully in my barstool to see the rest of the Autobots holoforms and Lennox there.
"I'm fine," I insist before I go back to my drink taking a swig.
"Should you be drinking like that straight after choking?" questions Sideswipe.
"It's fine," I insist.
"No," denies Ratchet but I continue drinking.
"Sorry for disturbing you Miss Sedis. But after what's happened today we wanted to find you and make sure you're doing okay," apologizes Prime politely as they all move closer.
"It's okay. Actually, I wanted to talk to some of you," I dismiss.
"Vi….. if you're still mad at us, I understand. And I know you may even hate us but…. " starts Lennox but he stops as I wave a hand.
"I'm not mad at you. And I don't hate you, any of you," I say looking at Ironhide, Prime and Lennox mostly.
"You don't?" asks Ironhide.
"No. I could never hate you guys. You all mean so much to me," I admit.
I see all their surprised faces that they try to hide.
"Wow, Vi. That's really nice of you to sa-" starts Lennox but I cut him off.
"What I do hate though is that Prime doesn't have the same hips as in Transformers Prime. Now that is a true crime," I state.
Their faces are definitely shocked now, even Prime looks caught off guard.
"What?!" exclaims Lennox before he asks, "Hang on... Are you drunk?"
"Yeah… but don't tell Ratchet. He's like a mother hen," I stage whisper.
"Mother hen?" splutters Ratchet as Sideswipe bends over laughing.
"She's over-energized," laughs Sideswipe.
"Definitely drunk," agrees Lennox amused.
"How is that even possible? Your nanites should heal you," further questions Lennox curious.
"I'm drinking a dangerous amount and drinking faster than they can repair. Talking about drinks, I need a top-up," I helpfully answer before I pour more.
"Should we stop her?" asks Ironhide wary.
"Pit no!" protests Sideswipe as I drink more.
"If you stop me, I'll get Ironhide on you," I threat.
"Vi. I am Ironhide," states Ironhide a little amused.
"Exactly. You wouldn't want to beat yourself up, would you? You'll feel pretty stink," I explain as they all look at me amused.
"Vi, I think you'll want to slow down a bit," advises Lennox, putting his hand over mine with the drink in.
"Lennox, I know I kissed you but you have a wife," I say moving my hand and drink away.
"Kiss? Vi! That was CPR!" exclaims Lennox's a little flustered.
"So stop trying to hold my hand," I counter.
Lennox raises his hands in surrender.
"I tried guys. I tried," sighs Lennox.
I start to climb onto the table and stand on it, wobbling a little. Woah…. my legs feel weird.
"Vi, what are you doing? Get down," says Ratchet exasperated.
"Shh! Shh…. I'm concentrating on trying to get the world to stop spinning," I answer, putting a finger out to Ratchet.
"Vi, get down before you hurt yourself," sighs Ratchet tiredly.
"You know I could really do without your negativity, Ratchet. You should be helping me," I insist.
"Negativity? Helping you with what?" asks Ratchet pulling a face.
He looks funny like that.
"I already told you. You're not listening. Help me stop the world from spinning," I scold.
Ratchet looks like his glitching now. His eyes are twitching and he's frozen.
"Vi, you can't stop the world from spinning," says Lennox, his head in his hand.
"You can't with that attitude. Sideswipe is the only one who is helping me, thank you Sides," I nod to him.
"Your welcome," replies Sideswipe pouring himself a drink.
"Sideswipe isn't even doing anything!" protests Ratchet.
"Ratchet, please. We don't need your negativity," says Sideswipe.
He gets it.
"She's lost it," comments Sunstreaker amused.
"A toast!" I exclaim, holding my drink up.
"To my death!" I cheer.
"To your death!" joins in Sideswipe excitedly whilst Ratchet looks like he's going to have a spark attack.
Sunstreaker whacks him up the side of the head.
"What? I got swept up in the excitement," shrugs Sideswipe.
Ah man….. My legs feel weird. They're moving on their own.
"Sunny!" I call out as he's the closest to the table.
"Don't call m-" starts Sunstreaker but I interrupt.
"Think fast!" I cut him off as I fall off.
Out of instinct, Sunstreaker catches me bridal style.
"Sunny, catch me!" I exclaim.
"I have caught you," states Sunstreaker unamused.
"Sunstreaker, I didn't know you could be so deep," I admit, staring at his blue eyes.
"Deep? What are you talking about?" splutters Sunstreaker.
"And your stomach is so hard. Have you generated an eight pack under there?" I wonder as I try to lift up his shirt to have a look.
Sunstreaker makes a weird choking noise while Sideswipe, Lennox and Ironhide laugh at his expense.
"Violet, stop it,"orders Sunstreaker, his face a little red…. from anger maybe?
"What? There's no need to get embarrassed, you probably look great under there," I try to reassure him.
"Sideswipe, remove your human from me," demands Sunstreaker moodily.
"No!" I shout in protest as I cling to Sunstreaker.
"I'm sorry, bro. She's your human now," laughs Sideswipe.
"Shadow, let go," orders Sunstreaker trying to pry me off but I'm holding on too tight.
"No," I protest, my arms wrapped around his neck and my head in his neck.
"Why not?" asks Sunstreaker trying to be patient.
"We're twins. We can't be separated or else, we'll die!" I explain clinging to him with all of my might.
"Violet… Me and Sideswipe are twins," explains Sunstreaker slowly.
"Triplets?" I gasp looking between Sunstreaker and Sideswipe.
"No. Just me and Sideswipe!" exclaims Sunstreaker, his patience running thin.
I lean back and look at Sunny.
"So why are you holding me? You should be holding him," I ask.
Sunstreaker starts to splutter and I jump out of his hold while he is trying to process what's going on.
"Well, that was fun. Let's do that again. Optimus, you catch me this time," I say as I try to climb the table again.
"No!"
I hear numerous protests from behind and more than one hand pulling me back onto the chair.
"Okay, chill, chill, yeesh…." I say to them all before I pick my drink back up and start drinking again.
"Violet, can I try your drink?" asks Lennox slowly.
"Yeah but you won't like it," I warn him passing my drink over.
"That stuff is vile," comments Sideswipe scrunching his nose up.
Lennox smells it before he takes a cautious sip. As soon as it goes down his throat he coughs.
"I knew it was poison!" exclaims Sideswipe.
"Woah…. That is some strong stuff. Sideswipe is right, that is vile. That's like the closest thing you can get to pure alcohol with what we have," coughs Lennox hitting his chest. before he turns to me, "How can you drink that?"
I shrug taking the drink back and I answer him, "After the fifth drink, you stop coughing or that could be the nanites catching up."
"If you didn't have the nanites this much drinking would kill you," comments Ratchet unhappily watching me drink.
"Well it's a good thing the nanites are saving me before they kill me," I retort sarcastically.
Ratchet glares at me for that comment.
"Miss Sedis-" starts Prime but I cut him off.
"Nah, none of this Miss Sedis stuff. You can call me Violet now. We've been through too much for a formality," I insist.
Prime looks hesitant but he readjusts, "Violet.."
"OP," I reply instantly.
Prime hesitates more.
"Violet, why are you drinking so much?" asks Prime.
"Someone who asks that is clearly someone who has never had a drink. Here, Prime," I say offering my drink to him.
"No thank you," denies Optimus Prime politely.
"Do Primes get drunk?" asks Lennox curiously.
"Primes never party," I quote instantly.
"Violet, stop deflecting," says Ratchet calmly.
"What? Can't a girl drink without someone thinking there's a deeper meaning to it?" I ask defensively.
"Violet, you've been through a lot-" starts Lennox but I cut him off.
"A lot?! Psst! That's not a lot. I've only been given a time limit on my life. The only lead I have is gone. My father is free and working with the Decepticons. Alive and happy. That's not a lot, that's like normal for me," I rant before downing my drink.
"Vi… if you want to talk about it, we're here," offers Lennox softly.
"I'm fine….. I've just been reflecting on my life and I've realized how much I've never done. I've never had a pet, never been on a date, never been ice skating, never gone bowling or any team sports. Didn't get to do any normal family stuff. All these things that I thought was stupid or pointless. I guess deep down, I've always wanted to try normal stupid stuff," I explain softly before sipping my drink, taking it easy.
I feel a comforting hand on my back and I look to my right to see Lennox.
"Lennox…" I say.
"What is it?" asks Lennox softly.
"You're very handsy today," I comment straight-faced.
Immediately, Lennox moves his hand away like I'm poison…. I am poison.
"What?!" exclaims Lennox.
"No, Vi! I- You…" stammers Lennox before he sighs in defeat.
"Sarah's going to be very upset with you," I comment.
"Okay Vi…" says Lennox dismissively.
Oooo…. He's not taking me seriously.
"Where is she?" I ask looking around.
"Sarah! SARAH!" I call out much to everyone's either amusement or annoyance.
"She can't hear you," sighs Lennox.
"Of course she can, Sarah! Your husband has been getting handsy!" I continue to shout.
"I'm gonna kill her-" starts Lennox.
"Sarah Middle name Lennox!" I yell louder, making Lennox cover his ears.
She's always there for me even when I don't need her to.
"What's all that racket?" asks a voice by the door.
"Sarah?" I ask trying to look past the Autobots.
"No, it's me, Epps," says the same voice.
I see Epps move closer but I lose interest.
"You're not Sarah," I complain, folding my arms.
"Sorry to disappoint you," retorts Epps.
"Well, I don't forgive you," I reply.
Epps looks at me confused.
"She's drunk," clarifies Lennox.
"But we're not telling Ratchet," I remind, picking up my drink and refilling it.
"But Ratchet is-" starts Epps but Ratchet cuts him off.
"I know. Just don't," says Ratchet waving it off before putting his head in his hand tiredly.
Prime notices something off to the side of me.
"Ratchet," says Prime getting the chief medical officer's attention.
Ratchet sees Prime's gaze to my blueprints as I call out Sarah's name, still searching for her.
"Is this what I think it is?" asks Ratchet in shock.
"I think I prefer you when you were quiet and stoic," says Epps as I continue to yell.
"I think so, old friend," agrees Prime.
"Violet, what is this?" questions Ratchet grabbing my attention.
"Just something that was in my head," I reply looking at him.
"But this is-" starts Ratchet.
"A satellite capable of transmitting a broadcast that automatically links to any of the same frequency no matter the distance," I answer.
Ratchet nods.
"I remembered that in the end of the first movie, Prime broadcasted a message to invite more Autobots here. I wasn't sure if the message would go far enough. I wanted to try and design something that would focus on trying to find the same frequency other than aimlessly broadcasting a message. Working on an invention helps me quieten my mind. I decided to try and work out how to make it," I explain before a thought occurs to me, I turn back around.
"Epps! Try this!" I call out pushing my drink towards him.
I immediately hear protests, mostly from Lennox and Sideswipe.
"Willl…." I whine at his protest.
"No, Vi. He'll need a stomach pump," denies Lennox firmly.
"It's poison!" repeats Sideswipe as Prime and Ratchet continue to look at the blueprints.
"Do you think it could be done Ratchet?" asks Prime, his voice low as not to attract attention.
"It's mainly primitive materials but it could work. We won't know unless we try," answers Ratchet before their eyes land on me trying to get around Lennox and Sideswipe to convince Epps to drink it.
"She truly is brilliant, isn't she?" comments Ratchet.
"It appears she does not wish for people to see her true potential," observes Prime.
"She did say her father is a genius. She probably doesn't want to admit she has her father's mind," adds Ratchet.
"No. Not his mind. She may have inherited his intelligence but she doesn't think like him," interjects Ironhide who's quietly listening.
"Quite right, old friend. Quite right," agrees Prime as they watch me with a soft smile as I try to climb the bar again.
"I ain't ever seen her smashed before. Hey! We could ask her about the movies," suggests Epps.
"I don't think that's a good idea," says Lennox wary.
"Sure it is. Violet, tell us about the movies," says Sideswipe eagerly.
I stop and think for a second before sitting on the bar.
"Alright, so once upon a time there was a farm boy…" I start.
"A farm boy?" questions Sunstreaker confused.
"Yes, hush Sunshine," I answer.
Sunstreaker growls but I ignore him in favor of continuing.
"The boy wished nothing more than to get off the sandy planet of which he lived on. As he gazed out in the far distance, seeing the twin suns-" I continue before I am interrupted again.
"Hey! Time out! That's star wars," complains Epps.
"Yeah you told me to tell you about a movie," I confirm before I realize I've finished my drink.
The bottles are empty. I open a new bottle of the nearest drink I can find.
"No, Shadow. We want the Transformers movie," insists Epps.
"Okay. So there once was a boy called Witwicky who put his glasses on eBay-" I start again.
"We know that part! We want the next movie," clarifies Sideswipe.
"No, no, no, I can't do that," I protest shaking my head vehemently.
"Why not?" asks Epps.
"No," I deny, even in my drunken state I know it's a bad idea.
"What's the harm?" asks Sideswipe.
I stand up to walk away and I wobble.
"Sides, do your job and stop the world from spinning," I order as I stumble forward, Lennox hovering nearby carefully, my stomach feels like it's burning.
"Come on Vi, just tell us, what's the worse that can happen?" asks Sideswipe from behind.
I'm now in front of Ironhide, Ratchet, and Prime. I lock eyes with Prime and then I look to Ironhide. I remember both sequels and my eyes sting a little. I quickly step forward and wrap my arms around Prime to his surprise. My shoulders start to shake as I cry silently. They're both going to die and I can't do anything about it. Or rather, I shouldn't. I feel so frustrated, helpless even. To know something and not being able to prevent it.
"Please…. don't hate me. Please, don't hate me," I plead quietly over and over.
"Violet?" asks Lennox from behind me but I pay him no mind.
Optimus tries to gently pry me away but I cling tighter still mumbling the same words over and over. I still haven't told them everything yet. If they find out, they are going to hate me.
"Violet, what's wrong?" asks Prime gently.
"You were my heroes. You were suppose to save," I admit quietly but whether they hear me or not, I don't know.
I feel a hand on my back and I turn my head to see Ironhide through my teary state. I don't want Ironhide to go.
"Violet, what's wrong?" asks Ironhide but instead of an answer, I let go of Prime to hug Ironhide to everyone's shock.
I look up at him with big eyes feeling like a child as his hands go up unsure what to do.
"Please don't hate me. Please don't hate me," I cry, my voice broken.
I see Ironhide's eyes soften and he returns the hug.
"I don't hate you kid," reassures Ironhide.
I feel relief as my shaking subsides but my relief is short-lived as my face scrunches up.
"But you will," I confess before I bury my head in his chest, clenching my eyes shut.
"Alright, she's had enough," says Lennox moving all of the drinks away as my shoulders shake and I hiccup through my sobs.
They're all going to hate me. I don't want them to hate me. I feel a hand on my shoulder.
"Violet, I think it's time to retire. You've had a long day, don't you think?" suggests Prime softly.
I nod unable to speak as I hiccup.
"Let's get you to bed, kid," states Ironhide gently.
I agree but I can't seem to move. It's nice to have someone hold me without it being for the purpose to hurt me. Ironhide realizes that I'm not moving and I feel his arms sweep my legs. I feel weightless as Ironhide carries me. I keep my face to his chest, trying to bury myself. Being this close I can hear a sound. It's not a heartbeat. It sounds like a pulsing sound but it's comforting all the same. Along with the swaying, I feel myself relax and slipping away as I'm lulled to a peaceful sleep. For once, despite my distress, I feel safe.
The next morning, I wake up feeling a little groggy. My head pounding as well as my chest. I briefly wonder whether I should ask Ratchet for some painkillers. I roll over with a ground and I pull my quilt closer to me. Wait….. quilt? I shoot up and see I'm in my room from the base. But I don't remember getting into bed. I went to drink and then…. Oh scrap. All the memories of last night flood back to me and now the pain in my body is the least of my worries. Stupid…. I'm so stupid. Why did I do that? Why did I think it was a good idea to get drunk? Stupid. Stupid. I've never been so embarrassed in my life. I put my head in my hands, feeling my face heat up before I punch my bed, needing an outlet. I know I've teased the others before but that was calculated. To throw them off their game. Last night was just… stupid. At least I never spoke about the movies. They shouldn't have asked me, especially while I was drunk. Although I had done the same to others in the past. Gathered information out of someone drunk. How can I face everyone today? I'm going to have to pretend nothing happened. Hopefully, everyone will follow suit…. yeah right. Sideswipe at the very least will be teasing me. Despite my reluctance, I get out of bed and I get ready for the day. I wear a more casual outfit. Black jeans, purple top, and a black leather jacket. I still have my belt with my daggers unwillingly to let that go. I put my boots on and grab an apple. I try to think about what I'm going to do today but I can't even plan anything out. There's nothing to do anymore, other than trying to track down the Decepticons.
Abruptly, my window smashes and something goes through it. Decepticons? I crunch down and get closer to the broken window. But no alarm has gone off. There's no way Decepticons would be able to get in the base perimeters without getting caught. I get a dagger out looking over to what was thrown through the window. A rock? I pick up the rock examining it closely. But who would-
"Sides, you idiot. Why'd you do that for?" asks an irritable Sunstreaker.
"I saw it in a movie once. I didn't think it would break the window," defends Sideswipe.
"Bro. Did you see the size of it and how fast you threw it? Humans have weak stick arms. They can't throw-" starts Sunstreaker but I throw the rock at Sideswipe's head.
It doesn't do much damage but it's enough that Sideswipe rubs where it's hit.
"Do I need to throw one at you too, Sunstreaker?" I threat.
"What happened to threaten with actions and not words?" inquires Sunstreaker snarkily.
"I can do that if you wish," I retort.
If I had another rock, I would throw that at him regardless right now. Sunstreaker rolls his eyes at my response.
"What did you two want anyway?" I question, wondering why they've interrupted my morning with a rock and a broken window.
"Oh yeah. Hatchet wants to see you," says Sideswipe.
"You threw a rock at my window to tell me that?" I ask.
"In my defense, I didn't think it would break. It was supposed to just bounce off and make a noise," replies Sideswipe.
I feel my hand twitch by my dagger, annoyed.
"Hence, why you're an idiot," comments Sunstreaker.
"Sideswipe, you're fixing it and explaining to Lennox," I say firmly.
There's no way I'm going to speak to Lennox about this. Sideswipe can explain himself.
"How am I going to fix it?" wonders Sideswipe.
"Figure it out," I state sternly, not settling for any excuse.
Sideswipe pouts but I don't budge.
"C'mon. We can't keep the Hatchet waiting," says Sunstreaker impatiently.
Sideswipe puts a hand out towards me. I tense slightly and look at it. It's not the broken glass that puts me off. It's me having to trust. It's fine. Sideswipe won't hurt me. He won't drop me. I take a deep breath before I walk over and kick at the rest of the glass out of the window. I step on the window ledge, with Sideswipe's hand touching the end. I take a big step onto his fingers before quickly moving his palm. I release a breath but suddenly Sideswipe brings his hand up to his shoulder. I stifle a breath as I struggle to keep my breath. I quickly realize what he's doing. I walk back over to his fingers and hop onto his shoulder easily. I turn and put a hand to his faceplate to help me balance. I look down and see the height.
Does everything look this small to them? I look straight ahead and look at Sunstreaker. It's easier to look at them from this angle. I don't need to crane my head all the way back. Sunstreaker cringes a little from my hand on Sideswipe, he is probably thinking about all of the natural oils on my hand. Thankfully, he keeps any complaints to himself.
I look to Sideswipe and I see his questioning gaze. I nod to him to show him I'm okay. I appreciate Sideswipe taking me this way. It doesn't feel like I'm being carried like a small animal. Slowly, he starts walking. Instinctively, my fingers curl and clench onto the gap of his faceplate as we go up slightly before going down. Sideswipe sees I'm alright and he speeds up to his normal pace with Sunstreaker walking beside him.
"Why did you both have to come to get me?" I question trying to get my mind off the height and vulnerability I've allowed to happen.
"Ratchet wants all of us in the medbay. We were on patrol on this side of the base so we said we'll get you on the way," says Sideswipe.
"Why all of us?" I inquire curiously.
"Who knows but I think Ratchet may have an idea for a cure for you," replies Sideswipe.
A cure?
"I don't know why he bothers," I comment.
"Ratchet cares a lot. Pit….. you nearly gave him a spark attack yesterday when you toasted your own death," adds Sideswipe.
"If I remember right….. you joined in," I smirk slightly amused.
"I got carried away. You were so eager," excuses Sideswipe before he adds, "You're so much more entertaining drunk."
"That reminds me, fleshy. Don't you ever jump on me again," glares Sunstreaker.
"Relax Sunshine, it was only your holoform. Besides, you should be happy, that's probably the only femme touch you've had in centuries and is going to be the only one for another few more, at least without them bring repulsed by your touch," I retort.
Sunstreaker leans forward at that towards me.
"Last night, you weren't repulsed. In fact, you clung onto me," comments Sunstreaker smugly.
I hold back a cringe at that as the memories replay in my mind. And while I held back most of it, Sunstreaker saw through my neutral mask, and all I can see is his smug smirk in satisfaction on his face which I want to smack off.
"I was drunk," I say in my defense as Sideswipe watches on in silent amusement.
"You seemed to enjoy it," further provokes Sunstreaker.
"Very drunk," I insist.
"I can't blame you. It's the closest you'll get to greatness," smirks Sunstreaker.
"Oh please," I dismiss irritated.
"If you want, I can put you on Sunny's shoulder. That way you can hold onto him some more," comments Sideswipe.
The effect is immediate, both me and Sunstreaker to glare at Sideswipe and we both protest at the same time.
"No way!" we both shout.
We both turn to glare at each other, even more annoyed.
"Fleshy," insults Sunstreaker.
"You want to start this up again, robot?" I scowl.
Sunstreaker growls in response.
"Relax you two. You're on my shoulder. I don't want to be caught up in the crossfire," insists Sideswipe.
"Speaking about last night, didn't you try to get information out of me while I was drunk?" I inquire with a threatening undertone.
"Femme, you must be tripping. You must still have some of that alcohol in your system," dismisses Sideswipe nervously.
"Don't make me pull on your wires," I warn.
"It wasn't just me! It was Epps too!" exclaims Sideswipe in panic.
"It's a good thing you can't get information out of me, even when I'm drunk," I reply.
"Aw c'mon. What's the worse that can happen?" asks Sideswipe.
My mind flashes back to last night: Prime and Ironhide. I cried last night over them. If I had said…..
"It's dangerous…." I state lowly.
My face turning grim as I go silent. Sideswipe and Sunstreaker pick up on my sudden and thankfully they don't say anything more on the subject.
"My favorite part last night was when you held onto Sunny and tried to lift his top-" starts Sideswipe again before I lean into a gap and clench on the wire.
"Okay! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" exclaims Sideswipe panicked before I remove my hand.
I was such an idiot last night. I've never felt so embarrassed so many times in a short space of time. Did I really try to lift Sunstreaker's top? I cringe internally at the thought. What's worse is that they will remember that forever in perfect quality. They must have perfect memories. I wonder if it's possible to extract memories from Cybertronians.
It's not long we arrive at Ratchet's medical room. The moment we step inside, I'm confused. All of the Autobots are here, why? This isn't the type of place they have a meeting. If I weren't on Sideswipe's shoulder, I would have hesitated at the door. I don't know if all of them gathered here is a bad sign or not. I see the other Autobots slight surprise of me on Sideswipe's shoulder and I can read in Prime's optics that he's pleased of this development, of the…. trust I've started to put in them. Sideswipe lifts a hand and I jump on it before he lowers me down to a makeshift Autobot med bed.
"What's going on?" I inquire suspiciously.
"There's no cure. I'm sorry Violet. There's no way to safely turn your human body into a Cybertronian one. Also, there's no way to reverse or stop the process," states Ratchet bluntly.
Oh…. I guess that's okay. I meant what I said earlier, death doesn't concern me but it's weird to hear it. It sounds so definite, inescapable. It's hard to process. I feel mostly numb and a little…. disappointed. I guess I just didn't expect Ratchet to give up. Maybe deep down, I thought he'll find a cure.
"It's okay, Ratchet. You tried. I don't mind-" I start but he cuts me off.
"We're not giving up," interrupts Ratchet, my eyes shoot up straight up to his blue optics confused.
"There's not a way to save your body. But we can still save you," explains Ratchet but I'm still a little confused.
What does he mean? Wait… does he mean…. My breath hitches as at the realisation.
"Are you talking about transferring my consciousness?" I inquire with strong interest.
Ratchet nods impressed I caught on so quickly.
"But how would that even work? I would need a body. And even if we got one we would have cut out my heart or spark and my brain-" I start questioning, but I'm mostly thinking out loud.
"We have time to work all of that out. We just need to design the body and we can get the materials from the government to build a body along with some cybertronian material we have," interrupts Ratchet.
"Is that even possible? To build a body?" I ask fascinated.
"It's what we use to do for sparklings. We would put their sparks in a new body," interjects Ironhide.
"So we would only need to put my spark in?" I further question trying to work it out.
"No. Since you already have memories, experiences and so on, your processor would need to move over or rather all of the information stored in your brain would have to be uploaded into someone else while we safely move everything over and then transfer it to your new body," clarifies Ratchet.
"Wait…. you mean…" I trail off, not wanting to say it.
Is that why he has everyone here?
"We're going to transfer your memories to an Autobot in order to preserve them," states Ratchet.
The future…. Is it set in stone? An immovable concept. Or can it be changed? From one stream to another? And if so what are the consequences? To save a life, does it mean giving up someone else's? A balancing out? Or will there be no consequences to changing time? No, I can't do it. I can't save Prime and I can't save Ironhide. When I knew I was in this world, I made a choice. I decided in my heart that I wouldn't interfere. And yet….. I also made a decision to never become attached, to never trust, and look how that's turned out. What will I decide when it comes to it? Will I be able to just sit back and watch it happen? To watch the light die out in two Autobots who I…. I've committed many unforgivable sins and watched countless more without interference, but do I have the strength to watch that one? Is it even really strength that I need? Yes, because after it's over….. how will I cope with the fallout?
