Pein's POV
"AHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
Pein heard the painful and heart wrenching scream coming from where he had killed Jiraiya. He turned back waiting to see if Naruto would come, but he didn't.
"Pathetic insect.." He said as paper began coming together next to him.
His partner Konan appeared right by him looking in the same direction but with narrowed eyes.
"Why not kill the boy now?" She asked him.
Pein just stared off in the distance. "It'd be a waste of time." He responded and she looked at him.
"I'll kill him right now.." She said but Pein grabbed her wrist, his rinnegan eyes staring deep into her amber eyes.
"The boy shall know pain. Me, and you both know that. We'll make him feel it till the day he starts begging for death.." Pein said to her.
He released his grip on her wrist and began walking the opposite direction. "Lets go.." He ordered and Konan sighed and obeyed.
As worried as she was, she'll just have to trust her partner's words. "And Konoha??" She asked.
Pein stopped in his tracks and turned to her again with the same emotionless pierced face.
"In a mere two days we'll crush that village and leave nothing behind but dust. Jiraiya talked bravely about peace. But those who don't know pain will never know true peace.." He said and walked further into the woods.
"Don't do anything foolish.." Konan responded.
"We already are..." He responded as he disappeared into the woods and Konan turned into a bunch of papers, not leaving a trace behind.
Time Skip..
Sasuke's POV
"He's gotten stronger... I'll give him that.."
"Still the risk he took almost ended terribly.."
Sasuke heard voices in the room he was in. He slowly opened his eyes to be faced with the ceiling. He also felt a headache overcome him as he groaned in pain.
"Wait.. I think he's waking up..." He heard a feminine voice say.
He held his head with his palm as he slowly sat up. He looked around to see flowers by him and four people in the room.
Tsunade, Sakura, Hinata, and Kakashi. They all had worried looks. Sasuke noticed he was in a hospital bed as he heard beeps from the monitor next to him.
He tried his best to memorize all the things that had happened. His eyes almost widened.
He killed Itachi...
He killed his brother like he said he would.
Tsunade walked over to him, she wanted to yell badly but she was in a down mood. Not because of what Sasuke did, but something else.
"How long have I been out?" Sasuke asked them.
"A day... that battle with your brother took a toll on your body. It took both Sakura and Tsunade-sama to heal you.." Kakashi answered back.
Tsunade sat next to the boy with a frown on his face. It didn't take an idiot to notice her mood was different than it usually is. "Tsunade-sama, is something wrong?" He asked.
In return he got silence from her and the people around him. Kakashi looked down at the ground with his one visible eyes and Sakura and Hinata also frowned.
"Oi... what's going on??" He asked in slight irritation.
"Jiraiya was killed in battle..." Tsunade decided to answer.
Sasuke looked at her worriedly. He wasn't as close to Jiraiya but this was sorta shocking news, even to come from Jiraiya's long time comrade.
"He was in rain village, trying to fight the Akatsuki leader... but..." Kakashi stopped talking once he saw droplets of tears fall against the hospital bed from where Tsuande was sitting.
"Excuse me for a moment..." She whispered as she rushed out the door.
They all stared at the door. Sasuke sat there not knowing what to feel. He had killed his brother but Tsunade also lost someone close to her in the same day. He only knew exactly how she was feeling because she had lost someone close to her just like how he lost Naruto.
Moments later the door opened again and about five people entered. Kiba, Shino, Yamato, Sai, and TenTen.
Three more people came in as well. Karin, Suigetsu and Jugo..
Sasuke doesn't know why he needs this much visitors but ignored it anyway. He looked around and almost all of they had narrowed eyes except Suigetsu, Jugo, and Karin.
"What's going on..?" He asked them but was once again met with silence.
Hinata stood next to him. "W- We ran into trouble when coming to get y- you?" She said as she put a hand on his shoulder.
"Akatsuki?"
"No..." Sakura answered. "It was the masked guy Shikamaru told us about.."
That instantly got Sasuke's attention, he looked at them all. "Is he here?!" He asked.
"No, the bastard got away.." Kiba said irritated.
"We all tried fighting him off, but the guy was smart and definitely had some strength." TenTen responded.
"He successfully stopped Sakura's powerful punch, it was quite surprising.." Sai said.
"There's just one more thing to it as well.." Sakura said and they all turned their heads to her. "I think he might be an Uchiha.."
Naruto's POV
Nothing but anger and hate was in the air for Naruto Uzumaki right now. The boy had fallen into a pit of rage for what Pein had done.
It's already been a day since Naruto saw Jiraiya die and give his final words. Those words haunted the damaged blonde.
He had a nightmare last night about Jiraiya to the point he stayed up the rest of the night, not wanting to ever fall asleep again.
Everywhere Naruto went, he would just see the image in his head of Jiraiya's broken and lifeless body. The events of would replay over and over again. He wanted those images to leave his head forever... but it's like every time he wished for that, it would get worse and come back, haunting him.
A loud slash could be heard that scared of a few birds. All flying the same direction as the blonde stood there panting. He held the sword in his hand with a very rough grip as the split log came crashing down.
Naruto did a few hand signs..
Katon: Gokakyu no justu!
The huge fire ball erupted from Naruto's mouth as it burned the two logs almost to a crisp.
Naruto had been training almost all day, every hit he landed on an object, Pein's face would show in his head. Every breath he took, he exhaled hatred for the leader.
But he also felt like Pein wasn't the only one to blame for his old sensei's death.
"Baa-chan... what the fuck were you thinking?" He muttered, hatred consuming his tone of voice.
Naruto sat up against a tree, memories with the perverted sensei hitting him deeply...
Flashback
Naruto was sitting next to Jiraiya, both enjoying popsicles with each other. Both relaxing after Tsunade had bet for Naruto to complete a full rasengan in a week.
Which he plans on doing.
But when the both of them were relaxing he just happened to think of something that he hadn't put much thought into.
"Oi... Ero-sennin..?" He asked, turning his head to the perverted sensei who was writing another one of his books that Naruto did not approve of whatsoever.
"Hm?" Jiraiya hummed.
"Can I ask you a question? And I want you to answer truthfully." The blonde responded and Jiraiya responded. "Have you ever thought of what the world could be like if we were to all get along?"
"You mean like, peace?" Jiraiya questioned.
"You could say that.."
Jiraiya put his book down and turned to fully face the hyperactive ninja he's currently training. "Let me put it this way, Naruto.." He said and the blonde raised an eyebrow.
"I believe there could be peace someday in this world only if the people let it." He responded but the blonde was so clueless that he raised an eyebrow, not understanding the message he was saying.
"What made you think of this question?" He asked.
"It's just.." Naruto responded. "We've dealt with enemies before, but everyday I remember the time my team and I came across Haku and Zabuza.."
Jiraiya looked at the boy in interest. He noticed the blonde's voice had changed a bit then it usually sounds.
"Haku was willing to die for Zabuza... I feel like if it didn't end the way it did, they both would be alive. Sure they tried to kill us but then again, people do bad things, but they can change for the best.." The blonde responded. "Do you ever feel like that with Orochimaru?"
Jiraiya smirked at the boy. "Of course." He responded. "Orochimaru... he's just lost, he also had a hard life when growing up. But he's smart..."
"What made him do the things he did? To the Third Hokage, to the village..?" Naruto asked.
"That I cannot answer.." Jiraiya responded. "But in the end, I believe that if we were to all come to an understanding, there would be peace. After all, killing and fighting doesn't help, it only makes things worse. If you want to change someone then you have to feel what they're feeling.."
"Can you feel what Orochimaru feels?"
Jiraiya looked puzzled as he stared at the blonde. He sure was asking a lot of questions that Jiraiya doesn't even know how to respond correctly to them. He sighed.
"No... not necessarily.." Jiraiya responded. "Killing makes things worse... it won't make anyone feel better or even close to justified, it'll make them even more of a monster than the person they killed.." Jiraiya said.
He took the last bite of his popsicle before throwing it far on the grass and so did Naruto. The blonde got the answer he was looking for and he took those words to the heart.
"Gonna continue training?" Jiraiya asks.
"Hai, I'm gonna prove to that old lady that I can master this thing in a week 'ttebayo!" Naruto cheered himself.
Jiraiya chuckled. "You're lucky she isn't here to hear you say that.." He responded.
Naruto ran off and instantly began concentrating and continued his training as Jiraiya continued writing his perverted book while also looking at the progress his student is making.
He had high hopes for the boy as time passes. He told himself that the boy would do the right things in the future.
If only that were true...
Flashback End
Naruto sighed as he balled up his fists and looked up at the sky.
"You're wrong Ero-sennin... people like Pein, deserve to be killed.. and I'll be the one to do it.." He said to himself.
Naruto stood back up and continued his training even more, standing by his words. He made sure that his old sensei's death would be justified in the end.
Sasuke's POV
Sasuke sat on the bed and for once was confused. They had told him everything, how the masked man single-handedly fought all of them off and ended up getting away.
An Uchiha? No way... I was there... everyone in the clan was dead, it was only Itachi...
"Does Tsunade-sama know about this?" He asked.
"T- Tsunade-sama needs a break, right now is a depressing day for her.. I'll tell her when she feels high spirited.." Sakura responded.
"Hn.."
The room was filled with uncomfortable silence. The only thing left to hear was the heart best monitor. Kiba and the rest left the room, only people left were Sakura, Sasuke, and Hinata.
"Your injuries should be fully healed Sasuke." Sakura said. "You can rest a bit more or leave right now.."
"Arigato, I'll leave right-"
Sasuke then felt pain shoot up to his eyes as he covered them both and grunted in pain.
"Sasuke-kun!" Hinata shrieked.
"I-I'm fine!" He said in agony but in reality he wasn't.
His eyes were burning, he felt like he was in the genjutsu again when Itachi took out his eyes.
Sakura and Hinata noticed blood go down his left cheek. The Hyuga ran over to him quick.
"S- Sasuke-kun! Lay down for now!" She said worriedly and he put his hand on on her arm.
"S- Sasuke-"
He then let out a painful scream and forced his eyes open and Hinata noticed his sharingan was activated but they were a bit different.
Before they realized it, black flames appeared and lit up the flowers that were by him, luckily Hinata was standing there. She backed away in an instant and Sakura couldn't take her eyes off the Amaterasu.
She approached Sasuke quick. "Sasuke! A- Are you okay?!"
The boy was left panting as he covered his eye again.
W- What the hell just happened?!
"H- Hai..." He responded faintly and Sakura took the time to rest her palms on his eyes and heal them. The black flames soon went away.
"T- That was the Amaterasu, w- when did you get it?!" She asked and Sasuke laid down against the bed as he began to calm down a bit.
"I- I don't know.."
Hinata put her hand on Sasuke's to comfort him a bit, it was working a little bit. Sakura finished up as she stood back up.
"Look's like you're gonna need some rest first Sasuke..." She said.
The raven haired boy could not argue that, the pain in his eye was starting to go away a bit but he would need a few more hours.
"O- Okay.." He responded. "Report to Tsunade about the masked man, as hokage she needs to take precautions.." Sasuke responded.
"Hai.." Sakura responded as she hesded towards the door. "I'll come back to check on you in a few hours.." She said before closing the door.
Hinata embarrassingly released her grip on Sasuke's hand. She took out a water canteen and held it out. "H- Here... drink some..." She told him.
Sasuke sat up again and took the canteen and began drinking. He gulped loudly from the refreshing liquid. He almost drank it halfway before stopping to save some for later.
"Arigato Hinata..." He responded.
Hinata shyly nodded as she stood up again. "Get some rest... hope you feel b- better Sasuke-kun..." She told him.
"Be safe..." Sasuke responded before the Hyuga walked out the door.
Sasuke sighed and laid against the soft bed and stared up at the ceiling before falling asleep once more.
A Day Later..
Pein's POV
Today is beautiful as ever. The sun was out and the blue sky was warming as clouds moved:
However, this beautiful day is about to turn into a disaster.
4 chunnin's laid dead on the green grass as a man in an Akatsuki robe with piercings and orange spiky hair with purple eyes stood inches away from them.
Soon 6 others with piercings and orange hair joined him and so did a woman with purple hair as well.
"Pein..." Konan asked in an unsure but ready tone as the Rinnegan user had his back turned to her.
"Today is the day..." He responded as he looked in the direction on Konoha.
"The day... pain, will be shared amongst those in Konoha..."
"Sometimes you must hurt in order to know, fall in order to grow, lose in order to gain because life's greatest lessons are learned through pain."
- Pein
