Chapter 34 My Inner Darkness Part 2

Ven's POV

"She was one of the chosen five", Darkness revealed. "So, I took over your body, killed her, and took her place."

Hearing this made me angry.

"Why me", I asked. "Why did you make me carry out your plan?"

"I had been observing you for quite some time", Darkness revealed. "I realized that you have a pure heart, and a pure heart can be most careless."

"What do you mean by that", I asked in confusion.

"You didn't know who or what I was", Darkness pointed out. "But that didn't matter to you. To you, I was a lost soul who needed a place to stay, and because of that, you let me into your heart without any question at all."

"You", I started as I clenched my fists in anger. "You took advantage of me! Because of you, Strelitzia died! And now...you're going to pay!"

After I said this...I summoned my Keyblade and charged at Darkness.

I tried to slash them, but my Keyblade just went right through them!

"What", I said in shock.

"I cannot be killed so easily", Darkness revealed.

"But the Keyblade is supposed to be able to destroy darkness", I pointed out.

"Usually this is the case", Darkness started. "But because I've been inside of you for so long, you and I have become bonded. You can't destroy me without destroy yourself."

Upon hearing this, I looked at Darkness with wide eyes.

Then...I broke down to the floor and began to cry.

"Why", I asked myself. "Why are people always using me to hurt other people?"

After I said this, I thought of all the people who got hurt because of me.

Then...I froze up...because I felt Darkness put their hand on my head.

"Wh...what are you doing", I asked in confusion.

"Listen Ventus", Darkness started. "Right now your friends are in danger. So, are you going to just stand here and let them get killed, or are you going to let me help you?"

"Let you help me", I asked in disbelief. "Why would I let you do that?"

"Because it's the only way to save your friends."

Upon hearing, I looked down at the ground and started thinking.

They're right. I won't be able to help Aqua and Terra on my own. I need Darkness' help.

With that...I looked up at Darkness.

"Very well", I said in defeat as I stood up. "I'll let you help me, but I will not let you take complete control of me."

"We'll see about that", Darkness stated.

Then...they held out their hand...and I took it.
