A/N: warning! This first part of this chapter will contain at least one character death. So if your favourite character or a character you like dies then all I can really say is I'm sorry. This is the final battle between team MRWBY and Salem will our heroes prevail and bring about peace once more? Read on and enjoy!

As the sun rose the next morning Michelle sat up in her sleeping bag in her tent as she thought to herself, "Today's the day we finally put a stop to Salem once and for all, I just hope my friends make it home safely" before Michelle's girlfriend Ruby slowly stirred from her sleep and rubbed her eyes a little before she smiled at Michelle as she said, "Morning Michelle, today is gonna be pretty busy huh?

And Michelle smiled back at Ruby and gave her a kiss on her forehead as she replied, "Yeah today is going to be pretty busy Rubes, I just hope most of us make it home safely, come on let's go and see if the others are up yet and get some breakfast."

So Ruby jumped up to her feet and gently pulled Michelle up to her feet as she said with a beaming smile on her face, "Yeah, let's get some breakfast as we wouldn't want to storm Salem's fortress on a empty stomach!" and Michelle just giggled a little as she followed her girlfriend out of their tent after they had gotten changed.

Yang then saw Michelle and her sister Ruby exit their tent as she walked over to them with a beaming smile on her face as she said to them, "Morning sleepy heads, I see you guys were about to get some breakfast before our Mission begins, mind if I tag along?" and Michelle smiled at Yang as she replied,

"Of course you can join us for breakfast Yang, it would be nice to hang out with you before you go in first with Weiss and Blake as the first strike team."

And while Yang was walking with Michelle and her sister Jaune and Nora also came and joined them as Jaune said to Michelle, "Morning Michelle, today's a pretty important day for us as we might finally end this and bring peace back to all the kingdoms." And Michelle grabbed a cup of coffee and a plate of pancakes as she turned to Jaune and replied,

"Morning Jaune, did you manage to sleep well last night? And yeah to think we might actually be able to end this war and bring peace back to the kingdoms."

Then Jaune smiled at Michelle as he said, "Oh yeah, I did manage to sleep well last night thank you Michelle and I'm sure you and Ruby managed to get some sleep too, although I am a little nervous about this mission to be honest."

And Michelle stood there as she looked at Jaune as she replied, "you're not the only one who is worried about this mission Jaune as to be perfectly honest with you I am worried about this mission as well even though it might not look like it." Before she added, "and...I'm scared not all of us will make it home safely."

After breakfast...

Once everyone had breakfast an airship landed and Yang Weiss and Blake turned to Michelle and Ruby as they said to them, "Guess that's our cue to leave, how about one last team hug before we leave?" and Michelle smiled at Yang as she held her arms out and replied,

"Aww, how can we say no to one last team hug? Come here you guys!"

So Michelle and the rest of her team shared one last hug with each other before Michelle broke the hug as she said to Weiss and the others, "Be safe out there guys and me and Ruby will be right behind you!" and Weiss smiled at Michelle as she replied,

"We'll do our best, but you dolts better not go and get yourselves killed out there you hear me?"

And both Michelle and Ruby giggled a little before they replied, "We won't Weiss, just be sure to look after each other." Then Yang smiled at Michelle and her sister as she wrapped her arms around both Blake and Weiss as she said,

"We'll make sure to look after each other out there so don't worry, anyway we better go before General Ironwood gets in a huff."

After Yang and Weiss and Blake boarded the airship it took off towards Salem's fortress as another airship landed and Jaune smiled at Michelle and Ruby as he started walking towards the airship with his team as he said to them, "I uh I guess that's us, we'll see you out there I guess Michelle." Before boarding the airship.

Finally after a few minutes after Jaune's airship had taken off the final airship landed and Michelle took Ruby's hand into her own and took a deep breath before she said, "Let's do this Rubes, everyone is counting on us!" and Ruby gave her girlfriend Michelle a kiss on her cheek as she replied with a smile on her face,

"Yeah, this is it, we're finally confronting Salem so let's do this Michelle!"

But as they boarded the airship alongside Oscar/Ozpin they didn't expect to see their friends Ember and Neo on board as Ember smiled at Michelle as she said, "Miss us?" and both Michelle weren't really sure the best way to reply so they just nodded their head as Qrow said to Ember with a smile on his face,

"I think Michelle and my niece do miss you guys but they have a lot of pressure on them because they will be the ones to try and bring Salem down once and for all."

Later...

Once Michelle and Ruby's airship was hovering over the battlefield of huntsman and Grimm the pilot opened the door and Michelle smiled at her girlfriend as she said, "Alright, I'll see you down there partner." Before she back flipped off the airship and descended down towards the ground while Ruby shook her head as she smiled and replied, "Always a show off but I love it!"

Before she used her semblance and dashed off the airship following after her girlfriend and Ember smiled at Qrow as she said to him, "Do they always like to show off like that?" and Qrow chuckled a little as he replied,

"No I think that's just the way they prefer to do things, honestly it reminds me what I was like when I was younger, and I have always been a gentleman despite what you might hear, so ladies first."

And Ember smirked as she leaped off the airship while Neo silently nodded before jumping off the airship while Qrow eventually followed after them as he dived out of the airship towards the ground.

Michelle then landed right in the middle of a group of Beowolves and she confidently dodged their attacks before she slammed her metal fist into the ground and created some ice spikes which impaled the surrounding Beowolves before quickly moving forward while Ruby landed on the ground not that far behind her and was easily able to catch up to Michelle.

Meanwhile Ember blocked some attacks from some Boarbatusks after she landed before she used her weapon wilt and her semblance moonslice and cut through several Boarbatusks clearing a small path in front of her as she ran ahead with Neo and Qrow not too far behind her.

As Michelle was closing in on Salem's fortress she heard General Ironwood in her earpiece as he said, "Alright Michelle, once you and Ruby and Oscar are inside the fortress you know what to do." And Michelle took her earpiece out and threw it while running as she thought to herself, "Speak for yourself General Ironwood, you're not the one down here risking your life for the sake of humanity!"

Ruby then shortly caught up with her girlfriend as they stopped outside Salem's fortress and looked up at the towering building before them before Michelle said, "Man, Salem's fortress is LOT bigger in person than it was from the airship, I-I'm not sure we can do this Ruby!"

So Ruby placed her hand inside Michelle's as she stood next to her and had a determined look on her face as she replied, "After seeing Salem's fortress up close and in person I'm scared too Michelle, but umm we have come this far and a lot of people are counting on us so the best thing we can do is just keep moving forward."

Oscar then joined them a few minutes later as Ozpin was in control as he said to both of them, "I couldn't have said it better myself Ms. Rose, we cannot afford to let our fear control us now as that will only serve to make the Grimm more and more stronger."

Then Michelle took a deep breath as she regained her confidence as she said, "You're right guys, we come this far and we can't let Salem win now!" before they all then slowly walked towards the entrance of Salem's fortress where Hazel was waiting for them.

As Michelle and the others approached the entrance Hazel stopped them as he said, "A few huntsman have already died today, I do not wish to have to kill any more today." And Michelle took a few steps forward as she said calmly,

"Then why don't you join us Hazel, we could really use someone like you in our fight against Salem."

Hazel then stood there as he replied, "Salem warned me of your semblance to convince people child, but I am afraid it won't work on me and I can't let you pass." Before he then injected two large lightning dust crystals into his arms and Michelle looked at the others as she said to them,

"Qrow, Ruby, you guys go on ahead I'll be right behind you after I deal with Hazel, Ember go with them as I need someone to help Qrow protect Ruby until I catch up with you now go!"

And Ruby hesitantly nodded before she ran ahead with her uncle Qrow and Ember wasn't far behind them before Michelle looked back at Hazel and removed her gauntlet from her arm as she said to him, "Out of respect for you Hazel, I won't be using any weapons so this can be a clean fight between us."

Then Hazel smiled a little as he replied, "Very well child, not many people choose to face me without any weapons." Before he then charged at Michelle and slammed his fist towards the ground where she was standing but Michelle managed to dodge out of the way and barely managed to dodge Hazel's other fist as it slammed into the ground next to her.

Michelle was very aware of Hazel's fighting style and as she continued to dodge his attacks she thought to herself, "I can't keep dodging forever otherwise Hazel will begin to think I'm a coward, I have to go on the offensive soon." And so after Michelle had dodged another attack from Hazel she connected with a couple of fists to his chest which didn't even seem to look like they had any sort of effect on Hazel before dodging another incoming attack from him.

So Michelle continued to dodge Hazel's attacks and land a few hits of her own with little to no effect on him as she thought to herself again, "there's no point trying to drain his Aura as it would just regenerate faster than I could get him to waste it and as much as I am trying to conserve my Aura I don't really have much of a choice at the moment but to use some of my Maiden power."

While she was deep in thought she didn't see Hazel's fist coming towards her until the last minute which was too late as it connected with her ribs and caused her purple Aura to glow a little as she went flying into a nearby wall of Salem's fortress as it cracked a little.

And Michelle laid there against the wall for moment as she coughed a little before she then peeled herself from the wall and was a little wobbly on her feet as she pounded her fists together as some ice formed over them before she said to Hazel, "I'll give you credit Hazel, that last attack hurt me a lot and I can see why many people fear you but...I'm afraid this is where our fight ends and you have been a worthy opponent."

Then with a quick burst of spped she dashed towards Hazel and dodged his incoming attack as his fist slammed into the ground next to her and she landed a few fists to his chest and this time however her attacks seemed to affect Hazel as he stumbled back a little as he grabbed his chest and saw little frozen marks.

Not wanting to give up her assault Michelle dodged to the side as Hazel swung his fist towards her and she kicked him in the back of his leg causing him to drop to a knee before Michelle raised her metallic hand as she said to Hazel, "It's over." Before she then slammed her metallic fist into his jaw knocking him to the ground face first and she waited a few minutes to see if Hazel was getting back up before deciding he was probably out cold and ran inside the fortress hoping to catch up with Ruby and the others.

Meanwhile...

Jaune and Nora and Ren were busy fighting off a few Grimm inside the fortress which ranged from Boarbatusks and Beowolves to a king taijitsu before Ruby and the others caught up to them and helped clear out the Grimm before Jaune smiled at Ruby as he tried catch his breath as he said,

"Thanks for the help Ruby, I thought we were done for!" before he looked a little confused as he added, "Where's Michelle? I thought she was with you guys, don't tell me she's..."

Then Qrow stood there as he said, "Relax kiddo, Michelle is dealing with Hazel and told us to go on ahead, I just hope she's doing ok." And Ruby smiled at Jaune as she replied,

"It was no problem Jaune, after all it looked like you guys needed help but...I agree with uncle Qrow and I hope my girlfriend Michelle is doing ok against Hazel."

Ren then stood there and smiled a little as he said to Ruby, "Ruby, I'm sure Michelle will be ok, after all she is surprisingly tougher than she looks and she has the power of the Winter Maiden." And Nora had a beaming smile on her face as she said,

"Yeah Ruby, Ren is right Michelle will be ok and I could tell from our training sessions that she is extremely tough so I highly doubt someone like Hazel will be able to stop her I mean at this point you would need to drop a tank on Michelle to keep her down!"

Ruby frowned a little and Ren nudged Nora in her ribs slightly as he said calmly, "Nora, not helping!" and when Nora noticed the look on Ruby's face she ran over to her and gave her a hug as she said,

"Ruby listen to me, Michelle will be ok, I know your worried about her and I'm sure Michelle is worried about you too and I don't think Michelle would do anything that would get herself killed because she's smarter than that so...just hang in there a little longer ok? And I'm sure Michelle will catch up with you guys soon."

While the group were talking with each other Jaune noticed Michelle holding her ribs and stumbling up towards the group as he said to the others, "Hey guys, Michelle is coming this way and...she looks hurt." And immediately at the mention of her girlfriends name Ruby dashed over to Michelle using her semblance and looked concerned as she said to Michelle,

"Hey are you ok Michelle? I umm I was so worried about you and then I started to fear the worst and..."

As she was cut off by a kiss on the lips from Michelle before she broke the kiss and coughed a little before she smiled as she replied, "I'm fine Rubes, I told you I would be right behind you didn't I? Although I could use some healing from Jaune as Hazel winded me a bit." And Qrow smiled at Michelle as he let out a sigh of relief as he said,

"I'm glad you're alright Kiddo, don't go giving us a heart attack like that again will you? And speaking of Hazel where is he?"

Jaune ran over to Michelle and was amplifying her Aura with his own and Michelle took a deep breath before she replied, "Hazel shouldn't be giving us any trouble anytime soon as I don't think he will be moving for a while." And Ruby looked shocked as she said to her girlfriend,

"Y-you didn't did you?"

And Michelle gave Ruby a hug before she broke the hug as she replied, "Kill him? No, only knocked him out cold...I hope at least, c'mon let's keep moving Salem has to be hiding in this fortress somewhere."

A few minutes later...

As Michelle and the others were walking through the fortress and checking different rooms they came across Mercury black and Emerald as Mercury said to Michelle, "long time no see...umm what was your name again?" and Michelle scowled at Mercury as she replied,

"It's Michelle! Now you can either step aside or I will be happy to make you kiss the floor again!"

Mercury smirked at Michelle as he said, "Hmm, interesting offer but I'm afraid I'm going to have to pass on that one besides short fuse you and I have a score to settle from Atlas!" as he got ready for a fight and Michelle grew more angry as she replied to Mercury,

"I'll be happy to fight you Mercury, as long as it is one on one and your little side chick over there stays out of it!"

Emerald then scowled back at Michelle as she said, "Hey, who are you calling a side chick? Last I checked you were nothing but Ruby's bitch!"

That last statement from Emerald infuriated Michelle as she screamed in anger as she yelled, "THAT DOES IT! YOU CAN INSULT ME BUT DON'T YOU EVEN DARE BRING RUBY INTO THIS! YOU KNOW WHAT? I'LL FIGHT THE BOTH OF YOU MYSELF AND I AM WELL AWARE OF YOUR SEMBLANCE EMERALD!" and Ruby tried to calm her girlfriend down as she said to her,

"It's ok Michelle, they're just trying to make you angry so you make a mistake so umm just ignore them, they're good at getting under people's skin."

Michelle then looked back at her girlfriend and tried to sound calm as she replied, "Ruby, go on ahead with the others, this won't take long and...I don't want to hurt you so please...just go, I'll catch up I promise." And Ruby gave her girlfriend a hug as she said,

"Ok I trust you Michelle, just umm...be careful."

Before she then slowly started walking ahead with the others as Michelle got ready to fight and Mercury smirked at Michelle as he said to her, "Don't you think it's a little stupid to think you can take us both on by yourself?" before he then charged at Michelle and threw a few kicks at Michelle which she was able to block or dodge out of the way.

Michelle then delivered a knee into Mercury's ribs driving the wind out of him before she threw him into a nearby wall and charged at Emerald who tried to use her semblance but was shocked when she saw that Michelle's eyes were closed and before she had any time to react Michelle drove her fist into Emerald's chest and sent her flying across the room before she hit the wall on the far side of the room.

Behind her Mercury was slowly getting back to his feet and he leaped into the air for a flying kick towards Michelle but Michelle grabbed him by his leg mid air and slammed him into the ground face first before she said to him angrily, "Don't bother getting back up!" meanwhile on the far side of the room Emerald was slowly getting back to her feet and she saw Mercury face down on the ground and scowled at Michelle.

But a single glare from Michelle made Emerald think twice about attacking her so she just slumped to her knees as Michelle said to her, "Wise choice Emerald, Mercury will be fine but he won't be waking up for a few hours though." Before Michelle then ran down a hallway to hopefully catch up with the others and upon entering a large room she saw Yang and Blake laid out on the floor by the door and Weiss was struggling to stand.

Michelle looked around the room for a few minutes before she ran over to Weiss and helped her to her feet before she said to her, "You ok Weiss? What the hell happened here? And Where's Ruby and the others I told them I would be right behind them?" and Weiss smiled at Michelle as she coughed a little as she replied,

"I'll be ok Michelle, and Ruby and the others are busy fighting Tyrion in the room ahead and...we were ambushed by some Ursa majors and a couple of death stalkers, sorry we couldn't be of any help."

And Michelle had a look of concern on her face as she replied, "It's ok Weiss you and Yang and Blake did the best you could, stay here with Yang and Blake I'm gonna go and catch up with the others and help them if I'm not too late." Before she raced down the room and entered a door on her left as she thought to herself, "please be ok Ruby, I'm going as fast as I can to get to you."

Later...

Tyrion was busy blocking or dodging attacks from Ruby and the others when Michelle entered the room and locked eyes with Tyrion and charged at him and threw some punches from her gauntlets which caused his Aura to glow a little before he turned to face Michelle as he said, "Ah at last our Winter Maiden joins us, our goddess will be pleased with me if I brought you to her personally!"

And Michelle caught a kick from Tyrion before she lifted him up by his shirt and slammed him into the ground before she then threw him against a nearby wall as his Aura glowed again before she said to him with confidence, "I'm not going anywhere! And we will stop your so called goddess!"

Ruby smiled as she stood next to her girlfriend and said, "It's good to see you're ok Michelle, and umm I wouldn't let Tyrion take you without a fight!" then Nora stood the other side of Michelle as she joined in and said,

"Yeah, none of us will let this creep take you or Ruby without a fight Michelle!"

Tyrion then quickly got back to his feet and activated his semblance and charged for Michelle but he was intercepted by Jaune who bashed him with his shield knocking Tyrion to the ground before he charged at Michelle again and ducked under Qrow's swing of his scythe before he leaped over Nora avoiding the swing of her hammer before he landed in between Michelle and Ruby as he kicked Ruby in her gut knocking her across the ground.

Seeing Ruby get hurt made Michelle mad as she threw punches and kicks at Tyrion who effortlessly dodged and danced around her attacks before he went to strike with his wrist blades and Jaune quickly shouted, "LOOK OUT MICHELLE!" before he decided to dive in front of her taking the blow himself as his Aura broke and Tyrion followed up with a strike from his tail as it pierced Jaune's armour and into his chest.

Everyone looked shocked after they saw what happened and Qrow charged at Tyrion in anger and wildly swung his scythe causing Tyrion to back up as he smiled maniacally and Michelle caught Jaune in her arms as she said with some tears in her eyes, "You're gonna be ok right?" but Jaune remained unconscious in her arms so she shook him a little as she added, "Jaune! Get up you idiot, this is no time to be joking around!"

After noticing Jaune was still not responding Ren frowned a little as he said to Michelle, "I...I hate to be the bearer of bad news but...I think Jaune is gone, that was quite the fatal blow he took and his Aura was broken beforehand." And Nora placed a hand on Michelle's shoulder and frowned a little as she said,

"He's gone Michelle, but...at least he will see Pyrrah again, c'mon we still have a mission to finish and...I think Jaune would want us to carry on and continue moving forward."

And Michelle burst into tears as she held Jaune's lifeless body in her arms as she cried, "It's not fair, It should've been me! Jaune could be an idiot sometimes but that didn't mean I wanted him to die!"

Ruby then got back to her feet and saw her girlfriend crying so she immediately went to her side to comfort her as she tried to think of something reassuring to say before she said, "Umm It's ok Michelle, this wasn't your fault so you shouldn't blame yourself and umm I think Jaune would want us to finish the mission and that we shouldn't let his sacrifice be in vain."

Michelle just slumped herself into Ruby's arms as she said to her, "I...I don't think I can do this anymore Ruby, I don't think I can bare to witness anymore of our friends die!" and Ruby held her girlfriend in the tightest hug she could muster as she went to say something else when she heard her uncle Qrow as he said,

"It's not easy being huntsman, believe me I have seen so many of my friends and colleagues die too and I also felt like quitting but believe it or not my sister Raven helped me focus on what's more important, but...the kid knew the risks and knew what he was getting himself into, I'll umm give you kids some time to grieve if want."

And Michelle slowly got back to her feet as she scowled at Tyrion in pure anger as she said, "No...first we are gonna stop Salem, then we can mourn over the friends we have lost and while we're down here fighting for our lives General Ironwood is sitting back at camp so he can give out orders from the comfort of his tent!"

Before Michelle slowly walked towards Tyrion as her grey eyes glowed blue with her Maiden power as she pointed at him and screamed, "YOU..."
