Note – As for the last chapter, many had questioned if Dayna is dead or alive and yes, she is alive and as a matter of fact, she had even made an appearance. And the new member of Team Frozen Dark will be revealed in this chapter and it is not Rosetta for sure (Guest user Catty asked if it is Rosetta).
Shaira
It was early in the morning. Sianna was standing in front of a grave in the graveyard. She was wearing a flared knee-length white frock with v-neck and mary jane shoes with wedge heels. She had a bouquet of lavenders on her hands. Her frock was moving along with the wave of silent wind. She looked down at the grave on which it was written-
Shaira Lucy Shield
—Fair as a star, when only one
Is shining in the sky.
Sianna smiled nostalgically as she remembered the violet maiden who was so kind that no one knew that she was miserable behind those eyes. She said as if she was talking to the girl in the grave, "Hey Shaira. How have you been?" She stopped and smiled thinking how silly it would sound to anyone nearby. She looked around and saw no one so she continued, "I am great too. Happy Birthday to you. Look, I brought lavenders. You smelt like them, remember?" She placed the bouquet on the grave and continued sadly, "It has been five years now, how does it feel- being dead? Does it hurt?"
She broke down then. She fell to the ground and started crying, her face half-hidden by her palms. She wept and gasped for air followed by a few hiccups. She controlled herself for a few seconds and asked crying, "Why is everyone leaving me? Everyone left. You left, Riri left. If the time comes, Alice will leave too. What should I do? Where should I go?"
She let out a few sobs until she felt fine. She got up and said, "How can someone be so broken inside to take the life of someone like you?"
Hilary was sitting on the couch and Tyson was lying on the couch with his head on her thighs. He seemed to be sleeping. Hilary kept brushing her pinkie finger on his cheeks softly. She suddenly stopped and looked at him lying down. She brushed her finger on his lips. She bent down to almost touch his lips with her but backed down. Then suddenly, Tyson pulled her closer and kissed her. When she got up she said shyly, "I thought you were asleep."
"I was not." He smiled. Hilary bent down again and planted a few more kisses on his lips. Their romantic moment was interrupted when Riri and Kai walked it. Riri looked at them with a smug while Kai was being Kai. Riri was wearing a black bodycon knee-length frock and black stilettos pumps. She teasingly said to the couple, "Don't stop, we are not watching."
Tyson groaned in annoyance. Riri giggled and picked up the key of her bike and helmet. Tyson asked as he watched them leave, "Where are you going?"
"Somewhere," she replied and wore the helmet, "Take care of the house. Naomi left last night for Mumbai, Ray is with Mariah doing their thing and Max and Kenny are with Judy. Make sure you don't burn my home."
"I won't, okay?" Tyson said rolling his eyes.
Riri was in the graveyard too. It was noon by then. She was in the same place as Sianna was- in front of Shaira's grave. The wind had now died but the atmosphere was cold as it was shaded by trees all around. It was her deceased friend's birthday and she needed to visit her. The chill in the atmosphere gave her goosebumps and she rubbed her shoulder. With a sigh and sad smile, she said, "Shaira, I'm sorry I didn't visit you for three years and I didn't bring anything. I got a job as an agent for BBA," she laughed a little and continued, "Yeah, so I go around with a gun in my bag." She looked down to think of something. She saw the lavenders lying on the grave and smiled and said, "Oh, and I have a boyfriend- World famous Kai Hiwatari, from the champion team. You didn't watch the Beyblade World Championship, right?" She looked down in regret and paused. Yes, it was hard to realize that a kind flower had died. She said once again after thinking too much, "I'm sorry, Shaira. I promised I would save you in whatever way I can but I couldn't. So, yeah, I'm sorry."
Kai was waiting outside while Riri was inside. The graveyard had a cold and negative aura that made Kai think it was better to be outside. When Riri came out, they both went back home.
It was past 7 in the evening. The sun was gone and stars took over the sky. It was a new moon day and the stars were clear in the sky. The graveyard was dark without even the slightest ray of light. The only source of light was the moon now. The light of the moon draped the graveyard in like snow. It would be scary to spent time in a graveyard with graves of many ancient lives from the time before the world war or the British rule but it wasn't for someone who was sitting beside the grave of her beloved. Shinyu was, as a matter of fact, odd to those who do not know her. But she was there for one reason- Shaira loved the night, stars, moon and, of most, the solitude of the night. Shinyu sat beside the grave on the grass. She was wearing a sleeveless light blue frock and blue sneakers. She laid her head on the tombstone with her eyes closed. Then she looked up in the sky full of stars in which one was Shaira. She let her mind flow with the memories of Shaira that weaved into a long thread of incompleteness.
FLASHBACK: 5 years ago
"The scars on my eye and jaw are because of combat but the one here is what my parents did." She pulled up her top to show her scar. She had wavy black hair that reached till her waist and violet eyes. Her skin was fair and she had scars on her right eye and cheekbone. She was Shaira.
Nine years old Shinyu was sitting in front of her. Shaira was abused by her parents and she had only revealed it to Shinyu and Riri.
Shaira looked down sadly. Just remembering how her parents treat her made her tremble and she couldn't move. Shinyu came close to her but she didn't look up. She pressed both her tiny palms on her cheeks and smiled. It was a silent I am here for you. Shaira had taught Shinyu sign language and Shinyu used it with anyone who understands her.
Shinyu lightly kissed her forehead. Shaira embraced her into a hug, smiled, and said, "Thank you, Shinyu. I love you."
She smiled and it said that she loved her too.
FLASHBACK ENDS
Naomi was sitting under the shower as the shower poured down water on her. She had rolled her legs with her hand and sat quietly, in solitude. The sound running water echoed in the bathroom. It looked like she was sad but the running water through her face didn't tell if she was crying. She was not fully clothed; she had worn a white blouse and white shorts.
After what felt too long, she turned the shower off and strode out of the bathroom. As she stepped out, a towel was thrown at her. She looked at the one who threw it and gave a sad smile. He came close to her and wrapped her in the towel, wiping her body and hair. He placed a soft kiss on her forehead and said, "You'll catch a cold if you keep bathing at night."
She smiled blushingly as a reply to it. He wrapped her in his embrace. When she was close to his body, she felt safe. No fear made her tremble anymore. Nothing could make her feel apathy inside. She closed her eyes and let herself sink in his body and murmured, "Thank you, Joh."
TO BE CONTINUED...
Confused, right? Well, here is one question answered. Please review! The next chapter will be updated soon.
Here, when it is said Violet Maiden, it is referenced to the Lucy Poems by William Wordsworth from which the character Shaira is inspired from. The flashback scene was a day before Shaira died.
