Part 23
Monday morning Caitlin kissed her fiancée goodbye before heading for her first day at STAR labs.
"What?" asked Barry
"I like that I can now tell the world that I am a very taken woman, not that I wasn't before. But now no one can question it."
"Cait, I can't wait until we marry and we start our family."
"Me too. But I really need to go. I shouldn't be late on the first day. Besides Kara and Iris are meeting me at Jitters for coffee before go in."
"I am sure that they want to see your ring. I didn't show it to anyone of our friends. In fact my mom is the only one that has seen it besides you."
"I knew you were planning something. But I am glad no one said anything. See you later my love."
Caitlin headed down to her car while Barry finished getting ready to head to CCPD. When he arrived he saw Eddie and Joe waiting for him.
"So don't keep us waiting Bare. Did she say yes?" asked Joe
"She said yes." Said Barry
"Like there was any doubt. Congratulations man. You are going to love married life. Well maybe not once Caitlin is pregnant. Last night Iris sent me out to get her mint chocolate chip ice cream and dill pickles. She then ate them together." Said Eddie
"For real?" asked Barry
"That is northing. Iris's mom Francine would eat jalapenos with strawberry jelly when she was pregnant with Iris." Said Joe
"I am sure Cait won't be that bad." Said Barry
"Believe whatever you want to believe man." Said Joe
Barry headed up to the crime lab to start working on his current case load.

Caitlin walked into Jitters and saw her friends waiting. She headed over to them. She had to admit that Iris had a glow to her. Her friend was five months pregnant with hers and Eddie's first child.
"Caitlin let us see the ring." Said Kara
Caitlin held out her left hand to show off her ring.
"Oh my god that is beautiful." Said Iris
"It really is." Said Kara
"It isn't it? Barry was so sweet. He had his mom help him make me dinner. But I bet you two already know that." Said Caitlin
"Yeah we do. The whole taking you to the spa was to get you out of the apartment in order for Barry to set everything up." Said Kara
"Thank you for helping Barry. Now both of you are going to be bridesmaids right?" asked Caitlin
"Of course." Said Iris
"You know it." Said Kara
"Kara if you see or talk to Alex first let her know I want her to be a bridesmaid to."
"You know she will say yes." Said Kara
"I know. Barry will probably ask Eddie, Cisco and Mon to be groomsmen."
"True, so you still haven't decided who your maid or matron of honor yet?" asked Iris
"No I haven't but I will let you know when I do. Now I need to get to my first day of work. See you guys later."
"Yeah we should go too." Said Iris
Caitlin hugged her friends and then headed for STAR labs. She parked her car and headed into the building where Cisco met her.
"Morning Caitlin. Dr. Wells wants you to come by his office before you go to your lab. Come on I will show you the way." Said Cisco
"Sure no problem." Said Caitlin
"So is Barry going to be asking me to be best man or not?"
"I have no idea if Barry is going to choose you to be best man or not Cisco. But if you are asking if Barry and I are engaged then the answer is yes."
"Congratulations Dr. Snow." Said Harrison Wells from the door of his office.
"Thank you Dr. Wells." Said Caitlin
"Now Cisco, I believe you have some work to do. I will show Dr. Snow to her lab after our talk." Said Dr. Wells
"Sure no problem. Meet you for lunch Caitlin?" said Cisco
"Yeah sure."
Cisco left and Caitlin followed Dr. Wells into his office.
"So who is the luck man?" asked Dr. Wells
"Barry Allen he is a CSI with the CCPD. He and I have been together since we graduated high school. But have known each other most of our lives. He is my best friend."
"That is nice. Now Dr. Snow even though you are just starting here I am expecting great things from you."
"Thank you Dr. Wells. You know my parents don't you?"
"Yes I know your parents. Your mother has never liked me. I am not liked by many in the scientific community. I have been known to be a little reckless in some of my endeavors. But I do take pride in protecting my employees. Dr. Snow despite what your mother might believe I want to assure you that you are perfectly safe working here. That I mean you no harm."
"Dr. Wells, I am not worried. But I would like to get to work."
"Of course. I will show you to the lab that you will be working in."
Caitlin followed Dr. Wells from his office through the building to the lab she was assigned. She noticed that in was off what looked to be a main control center.
"This is the cortex. You are going to be working in the biomedical lab." Said Dr. Wells
Caitlin walked into the lab and noticed that a shingle with her name on it was on the door.
"I will have the shingle updated after your marriage. Will you be hyphenating or completely changing your name?"
"Most likely changing my name. I have never been a fan of hyphenated names."
"Ok. Let me know when the wedding is and when you return from your honeymoon I will have the new shingle in place."
"We haven't even talked about a date yet."
"Doesn't matter. Just tell me and I will get it done."
Caitlin just nodded and started to explore her lab. Cisco found her a few hours later and they went down to the cafeteria for lunch.
