Hey guys, the author here just wanted to say a quick thank you everyone who has stuck with this story so far and thanks again for all the reviews I luck forward to reading them. Anyway, here's the next chapter.
(12:22pm) 3 minutes later…
Summer Bay – Beach
Alf was currently walking along the beach when he stopped and scanned around him.
Looking towards where all the boats were sat on the sand, Alf yelled: "Heath!"
Getting no response, Alf marches over to where the man was sat watching the waves.
Standing in front of him, Alf says: "Heath, are you all right mate?"
Heath doesn't reply just continues to look round Alf and watches the waves.
"You give us a real scare leaving the hospital like that. I suppose you had your reasons but the thing is, I can't leave you out here." Alf tells him which still gets no response "I know you probably want to be on your own right now, but we got to get you back to the hospital or you could get real crook. Come on mate, whatever it is we can sort it out."
Heath swallows and then staring at Alf says: "I want to go home."
"Of course you do." Alf says while trying to be understanding "But you know it won't be too much longer before you can. However, right now we need to get you back to the hospital."
Shaking his head, Heath replies while slowly standing up: "I'm going home."
It's then that Heath starts to walk away with Alf just following slowly behind him.
(12:56pm) 34 minutes later…
Summer Bay – Braxton House – The Flat – Inside
Heath opens the door to the flat slowly before walking inside and looking around.
From behind him, Alf says: "Come on mate, let's take you down to the hospital."
Without turning round, Heath said: "You can go."
"I don't know if that's such a good idea." Alf tells him while playing with his hat.
"I said you can go." Heath snaps at the man.
Alf doesn't reply instead he just slowly backs away from Heath, then turns around and leaves.
Summer Bay – Braxton House – The Flat – Outside
As Alf leaves the flat, he spots Brax rushing over.
"He's inside. I couldn't get him to come down to the hospital with me." Alf informs the oldest Braxton.
"That's fine, thanks for the call." Brax replies.
With that Alf says a quick good luck and then takes off while Brax heads into the flat to talk to Heath.
(12:59pm) 3 minutes later…
Summer Bay – Braxton House – The Flat – Inside
Heath picks up a framed photo of him and Bianca that had been sat on the table surrounded by rose petals, ready for their wedding night before they left for their honeymoon.
Brax enters the flat and notices his brother staring at the picture: "You can't stay here Heath."
"Yes I can, I live here." Heath reminds him without looking away from the photo.
"Come on you know what I mean, you need to be back in hospital."
"I'm not going."
"Heath, I know your hurting mate and I'm sorry about not understanding this morning, I really am but…" Brax says to him "that medication you're on it's got to be taken at the right time or your body is going to reject that liver. It's a simple as that."
"Whatever happens, happens." Heath tells him as he lowers the picture but still doesn't turn to face his brother.
"Heath." Brax pleads.
"I'm not going, ok. I'm staying here." States Heath as he moves his head slightly.
With that Brax just stares at his brother knowing that when Heath gets like this, there isn't much anyone can do or say to change his mind.
(1:20pm) 21 minutes later…
"Heath, I'm trying to understand this. Really I am, but I just don't get it." Brax eventually says to his younger brother who was sat at the kitchen island.
"You don't have to." Heath just tells him.
"This is not a game. This is life and death; do you understand that?"
"Yes!"
"So, what are you doing?"
"I told you, I need to feel close to her and this space and these things are all I have left."
"You're talking like you've given up."
"Haven't you?"
"Well, granted they're running out of time…" Brax says but gets cut off by Heath.
"Oh, running out of time? Come on Brax, come on." Heath says raising his voice slightly "It's been nearly five days, and Rachel said the chances of them even surviving the crash in the first place aren't great."
"Hey mate, bigger miracles have happened. You for example, the chances of finding you a compatible donor were next to nil."
"Oh, so now you're going to tell me that I owe it to Peter, not to give up?" Heath says as he walks over the back of the sofa and holds his side with one arm while holding the sofa with the other.
"Heath, you owe it to you and to your wife."
"I have tried to stay strong Brax. I've hoped and I've prayed for every single moment of everyday, but there's only so long that you can keep going."
"Well, you know what I don't accept that." Brax says as he stands right beside Heath "I can tell you right now that Bianca wouldn't have accepted it either. She would have dragged you back to that hospital by now if she was here and that's exactly what I'm going to do if you don't wake up to yourself. I mean for god sake Heath!"
"I'VE TOLD YOU WHAT I'M DOING OKAY! IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT JUST GET OUT!" Heath screams at his brother.
Calmly, Brax says: "Heath, I'm your older brother and I've been more of a father to you than Danny ever was. So, if you think I'm just going to stand here and watch you die…"
"JUST GO BRAX! JUST GO!" Heath screams again hoping it would sink in.
Putting his hand to his mouth, Brax doesn't say anything else instead he turns around and leaves just like Heath wanted him to.
Heath watches his brother leave and then starts crying as he thinks about his wife completely forgetting about Kyle.
