Underneath the city of New York, trouble is brewing. Dr. Wesley Walters was at work. He has been working on restoring his powers to become Iguana again. He's finished his serum and was ready to have his powers once more.

"Yes. Finally, after all this time, I'm going to feel whole again." Walters said as he was mad for power. He took an injector and filled it with his serum. The time has finally come for him. He injected himself in the arm with his serum and he could feel himself changing. He enjoyed the feeling he was getting as his body was mutating. He grew scales and it progressed as he ripped up his clothes. He grew a tail with frills running down his head to his tail. The mad scientist known as Iguana has returned.

"At last!" Iguana said. "I finally have the power I once held and I know how to use it for the first time in so long." An old villain has come back and he can't wait to use it.

Jean

Jean was taking a stroll through the streets of New York. She stopped when she heard bells going off. She looked further down the streets and saw a wedding was going on. She saw a new husband and wife step out with people cheering. She always believed that it would be her and Paul like that one day.

"Hey." Paul said as he caught up to her and placed his arm around her. "You okay?"

"Yeah." Jean said as the two of them started walking and she watched the wedding. 'I would love it if it were me and Paul like that one day.' Jean hoped. 'However, I'm starting to wonder if that really will happen.' "Paul, can I ask you something?"

"What is it?" Paul asked.

"Well, back when we were in high school, I actually helped you out before with your Spider-Man stuff." Jean said. "Remember that one day I built that device that helped you take down Iguana?"

"Yeah…" Paul said.

"What's more is that we started dating sometime after you and Monica broke up." Jean said.

"Yeah. Where are you going with this?" Paul asked. Jean was trying to see where they stood in this relationship, but she didn't get the chance. Paul's phone went off before she could ask anything.

"Monica? What does she want?" Paul said as he answered it without hearing what Jean wanted to ask. "Hey, Monica. What is it?"

"Paul, I need help! Now!" Monica said. "I'm at the Daily Bugle! Hurry!" Monica sounded like she was in a panic. The line was cut and Paul didn't like the sound of that.

"Monica sounds like she's in trouble." Paul said. "I've got to go." Paul gave Jean a quick kiss and took off. Jean understood that Spider-Man was needed, but this might further prove what she's been thinking.

Paul

As soon as Paul got changed, he swung as fast as he could to the Daily Bugle. Monica sounded like she was in real trouble and he swung as fast as she could.

"I sure hope she's okay." Paul said. Paul swung over to the Daily Bugle, but he was shocked to see the building was apparently attacked as there were broken windows and in the walls. He swung through one of them and looked to see the place was a wreck. "What happened here?"

"Paul?" Paul looked and spotted his old co-worker, Dennis.

"Dennis!" Paul went inside and helped him stand back up. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. How do you always know when there's trouble?" Dennis called.

"Easy. Monica called me. What happened here?" Paul said.

"It was some sort of lizard monster." Dennis said. "It came smashing in here and claimed that he wanted Monica." Paul didn't like the sound of that.

"Where is she now?" Paul asked, but he got his answer as he heard some sort of scream and it sounded like Monica. Paul moved through the building as fast as he could thanks to his powers. He pulled open an elevator and jumped right down.

…

Monica

Monica was cornered with nowhere to run as she backed against a wall. Iguana was able to hunt her down and had her cornered.

"Nowhere to run, my dear." Iguana said.

"How is this even possible?" Monica said. "I was there when it happened, when you lost your powers. How could you have gotten them back?"

"Are you forgetting that I'm a genius scientist?" Iguana said. "All you did was set some of my plans back. Now that I have my iguana dna back in my body, I won't allow anyone to stand in the way of my plans again. That means that I'm going to rip you apart."

"But why me?" Monica said as she was getting scared.

"You were there when I first lost my powers." Iguana said. "You played a part in losing my powers just like with Spider-Man and Blite. Not to mention that other young lady from back then. I will have my revenge so you won't ever take my powers again." He held out his scaly claw and Monica felt like she was in real trouble.

"Monica!" Iguana turned to where that call came from, but ended up having a potted plant smashed against his head. Monica used the opportunity to slip away from him. Iguana looked and saw he was faced with Spider-Man.

"Spider-Man! So good to see you again." Iguana said.

"Dr. Walters? I don't believe it." Paul said. "You really did it. You were able to become Iguana again."

"Believe it, Spider-Man. I'm back and I'm going to make sure it's for good." Iguana said as he leaped right at Paul, but Paul rolled under him and had Iguana slam against the wall. Paul used his webs and tried to hold Iguana in place, but Iguana ripped off the webs and slammed his tail against Paul. "I'll deal with you another time." Iguana made his escape as he smashed right through the wall and was gone.

"Paul!" Monica called as she came out of hiding and helped him up. "Are you okay?"

"I've dealt with worse." Paul said. "I'm more concerned with the fact that Iguana is really back. What was he doing here? Why was he after you?"

"He was saying stuff about how he wasn't going to let anyone get in his way again." Monica said. "He remembered what happened the last time we saw him and he wants revenge or something."

"Revenge?" Paul said as he tried to put the pieces together. "He must be talking about what happened all those years ago. The day he first lost his powers."

"Exactly. He wants to make sure we don't take his powers again like we did before." Monica said. "I think he'll be after Lindsay and Jean as well."

"You might be right. I'll contact Lindsay and Thomas to watch over Jean. I'll stick with you n case he comes after you again." Paul said.

"Are you sure that's really a good idea?" Monica said. "You watching over me when your girlfriend is a target to a criminal as well."

"There's no time to discuss about this." Paul said as he reached for his communicator and contacted the others. With Iguana back, they have to stay focus on what's happening right now.

Jean

Jean decided to go back to Paul's apartment. She loves being there because she's surrounded by everything that makes her think of him. She looked around and thought of all the great times they had together. She sat on the bed they've shared and thought about how what they have felt so great for she really does love him. She's wondering if that's really all she CAN do for him. Jean got spooked when she heard a knock on the window. She turned and saw Venom and Blite.

"Thomas? Lindsay?" Jean questioned as she opened up the window and let them in. "What are you two doing here?"

"To watch over you." Lindsay said.

"Iguana is back." Paul said.

"That nutty scientist that made himself into a lizard?" Jean said.

"The very same." Lindsay said. "He wants payback for what happened last time and Paul think he'll come after you, Monica, and I. So Paul sent us here to watch over you."

"Where's Paul?" Jean asked.

"With Monica to make sure she's safe. He already tried attacking her." Thomas said.

"Oh… He's with Monica…" Jean said as she seemed a little upset about that.

"You okay?" Thomas asked.

"Yeah…" Jean said, but Lindsay could see she wasn't and she can't blame her. "So…how's Ray? Paul told me what happened?" She was trying to change the subject around.

"He's doing better." Thomas said. "It was hard for him with what he saw and might be seeing help for a while, but he hasn't mentally snapped yet. That's a good thing." As they were talking about that, Iguana was just across the street and he could see Jean.

"There she is." Iguana said as he was making his move. As they were talking, Iguana was moving as fast as he could without them seeing him.

"So how are we going to catch this lizard?" Thomas asked.

"Iguana has both brains and brawns working for him. So we've got to be careful." Lindsay said, but she just jinxed it as a tongue shot through the window and grabbed Jean. She was pulled through and Iguana had her now.

"So nice to see you again, my lovely." Iguana said. "Blite, I'll be back for you another time." He jumped off the building and made a run for it with Jean.

"Get back here!" Thomas shouted as they tried to chase after him. Iguana was already a step ahead as he pulled a mailbox out of the ground. He tossed it at Thomas and it hit him as he was blown back. Lindsay landed on the ground and tried to reach Jean, but Iguana spun around and used his tail against her. Jean hit a wall pretty hard and practically passed out.

"Let me go!" Jean said as she tried to get free, but Iguana was too strong.

"I will, in time. We have much to discuss." Iguana said as he carried her away.

…

Paul

Paul took Monica back to her apartment and made sure she was safe. Iguana could come back at any moment.

"You don't think Iguana could actually come out of the toilet, do you?" Monica said. "He's been staying down in the sewers and I heard a couple times that happened. He could have modified his powers to make it so."

"I don't even know how to respond to that." Paul said. "Let's just keep our focus and keep our guard up."

"Thanks for staying to watch over me, but are you sure Jean's going to be okay?" Monica said. "Maybe she would feel safer if you were with her."

"I'm sure she's fine. Thomas and Lindsay are with her." Paul said. Monica wasn't so sure she liked how Paul was acting about this. There wasn't time to argue about this as Paul heard his phone go off and saw it was Thomas. "Go ahead."

"Paul, Iguana took Jean." Thomas said.

"What?!" Paul said.

"He showed up out of nowhere and took her." Thomas said. "Lindsay's in bad shape. I'm getting her to a hospital and keep guard if Iguana comes back for her."

"Got it. I'll find Jean." Paul said and ended the call. "Iguana's got Jean. I've got to find her."

"I'll come with you." Monica said.

"No way. It's too dangerous." Paul said.

"Paul, those sewers go over the whole city. It stretches for miles. You can't search through all that by yourself. By the time you find her, it could be too late." Monica said. "Luckily, I know how to track her phone. If she had it when she was taken, we'll find her and she always has it on her." She started the tracking system on her phone and found Jean's location.

"Good. Give me the phone." Paul said as he reached for it, but Monica held it away.

"Nope. I need this phone and it could get broken if I leave it with you." Monica said. "Besides, Iguana might be on the move again. If he's after me too, I won't be safe without you or the others around. My best chance is to go with you. Now, do you want to keep arguing about this? If we do, it could be too late to save Jean."

"Damn it all." Paul said as he hoisted Monica over his shoulder and just went with it.

"To think I wanted to be in your arms, but not like this." Monica said as Paul shot a line outside and started swinging.

Jean

Jean was brought to Iguana's underground lab in the sewers. He tossed her down and Jean was getting scared.

"What do you want?" Jean asked.

"I haven't forgotten you." Iguana said. "You were that same girl that took my reptile dna from me all those years ago. I knew that I would find you one day and make you pay for that." Jean backed up against his desk and looked around for something she can use. "However, instead of killing you and having the rats feast on your corpse, I think you might be of use to me."

"Say what?" Jean questioned.

"The device that took my reptile was made out of pure brilliance." Iguana said. "You or one of the other two girls had to have created it. I want a brilliant mind like that working for me."

"No way. Why would I want to help you?" Jean said, but Iguana held his hand with his sharp nails near her throat.

"Would you prefer I slit your throat open?" Iguana said. Jean kept her mouth shut, but she tried to think of some way out of this. "Now, I think I might inject some of my serum into you and make you just like me. We brilliant minds should stick together. Stay right here." He went over to fetch the serum and Jean looked for something she can use as a distraction for her to escape. She spotted some chemicals that could help her. She grabbed a couple when Iguana wasn't looking. "Now hold still. It will be over before you know it." He came back with the injector and was ready to inject her with the serum.

"I don't think so." Jean said as she tossed the chemicals and they smashed against him and burned his reptile skin. As he screamed in pain, Jean made a run for it.

"Damn you!" Iguana said as he fought through the pain and tried to go after her.

Paul

Paul and Monica continued to track Jean. Once they got the general area of where she was, they found the nearest manhole and got it open.

"You sure she's around here?" Paul said.

"That's what my phone says." Monica said. Paul jumped right down with Monica climbing in. "Jean's a smart girl. I'm sure she'll be okay."

"I really hope you're right." Paul said and started searching for her.

Jean

Jean was running for dear life and was running fast. Iguana was trying to catch her and he was starting to gain on her. Jean ended up tripping and Iguana was about to be right on top of her. She thought she was going to die, but something pushed Iguana back. She looked and saw Paul was able to find her and started beating on him.

"Jean!" Monica called as she helped her stand up.

"Get out of here!" Paul shouted at both girls and they started running. Paul was doing his best to as he kept beating against Iguana's face, but Iguana coiled his tail around his neck and slammed him against the ground. He was about to use his nails against Paul, but Paul was trying to hold him back.

"You won't stop me this time!" Iguana said as he was much stronger and his nails dug into Paul's chest. Monica saw he was in trouble and grabbed a pipe on the ground. She slammed it against Iguana, but Iguana snapped at her as slammed his arm against her.

"Monica!" Paul shouted as he got Iguana's tail off him and slammed his feet against him. He gave him a powerful punch that knocked him over the edge, but he grabbed Monica to take with him. "Monica!" Monica was holding on for dear life over a raging canal of sewer water with Iguana hold on to her leg. Paul grabbed her and used his great strength to try and keep her up and her body felt like it was stretching almost like taffy.

"I won't fall alone." Iguana said. Monica looked down and spotted a burn on him.

"Paul, his skin!" Monica said. Paul looked and spotted the mark. He shot a web and hit the fresh mark. Iguana couldn't hold on and plummet into the water and it carried him away. Paul pulled Monica up to safety.

"You okay?" Paul said.

"Yeah." Monica said. She was a little shaken and Paul comforted her. Iguana's gone for now, but now that he has his powers again, he'll be back. Paul's troubles are just starting and he's about to have more. Jean saw how those two acted just now.
