A little less then 2 weeks later...
Eddie was getting back into the swing of things with work and was doing very well balancing it with being a mom at the same time. Nicole was great and a lifesaver, they were so thankful they found someone they could trust with they're baby's life while they were out keeping others safe.

Eddie and Rachel responded to a reported domestic disturbance coming from an apartment. Jamie and a rookie officer "Ron" who was riding with him for the day had just arrived at the scene before them and was talking to the neighbor who called before they went in.
The 4 of them headed up to the door, not hearing much but people talking.
"Rachel take Ron go around, cover the back" Jamie told them.
"Police open up!" Jamie yelled and banged on the door. Then they heard a man shouting and women screaming back at him. They both got they're guns out, realizing it was intense. They heard someone struggling to unlock the door from the inside and it slightly open but the yelling and screaming continued. Jamie kicked the door in with his gun drawn, Eddie right behind him.
"Police! Let her go!" Jamie shouted at the guy who was physically attacking this women, trying to get her phone out of her hand and yelling profanity at her.
"Hey! What's going on?!" Eddie yelled too with her gun still up, Jamie holstered his and moved in to break it up.
"Knock it off! C'mon! Let's talk!" Jamie said getting in the middle.
"She's cheatin'! She's a slutty bitch!!" The guy was yelling over Jamie at her.
"You cheated for 3 years! Bastard!" The women started yelling and trying to hurt him now.
"Janko!" Jamie yelled when he realized it was 2 against 1. Eddie put her gun away and grabbed the lady, the guy went to kick the women but got Eddie in the stomach instead, knocked the wind out of her. Jamie threw the guy to the ground pissed now.
"YOU THINK IT'S OKAY TO BEAT ON WOMEN!?" Jamie said roughing the guy up. A little girl probably 4 or 5 years old emerged from the other room, terrified, holding a doll. Her hair was all messy, she had a bruise on her cheek.
"Woah woah, easy Reagan there's a kid." Eddie said when she saw her.
"Huh!?" Jamie was confused and turned around to see what she was talking about as he cuffed the guy.
"Danielle go back to your room!" The mother said to her as her head was cut and bleeding.
"Mommy!" She cried out at the traumatic sight. Rachel came in after they heard the yelling. Jamie got on the radio and called for 2 ambulances.
"How many kids are here?" Eddie asked her trying to calm her down.
"Just her. Danielle I'm okay sweetie go back to your room." The mom said.
"Rachel take over, I got this." Eddie said and approached the little girl, she was holding a baby doll.
"Hey, everything's okay. My names Eddie, I'm a police officer which means you can talk to me okay?" Eddie asked wanting to gain some trust. More officers came in to help.
"Okay." She shyly said. Jamie came over to them.
"Hey, let's move into the kitchen maybe." Jamie suggested, not wanting her to see her mom get put on a stretcher. They went around the corner where her vision was blocked.
"Can you tell me where this boo boo came from?" Eddie asked and pointed to her cheek. She squirmed away shaking her head fearfully wanting no parts of Eddie.
"Woah okay. Hey, my names Jamie, can you tell me what your baby's name is?" Jamie said kneeling down to her, Eddie backed up and let him try.
"Paige." She said crying.
"That's a good name, hey, It's gonna be okay alright? Guess what?" He said to her. She just looked at him wanting to know what he was gonna say.
"I have a baby girl at home, her name is Alaina and she's about the same same size as your baby." Jamie told her.
"Is she a good baby." Danielle asked, confusing Jamie a little.
"Oh yeah, she's an angel. Is your baby good?" He asked seeing where this was going she shook her head no.
"No? Whattt? Is she the one who gave you that boo boo?" Jamie asked not lifting a finger, he didn't want to spook her like Eddie did.
"No." She answered and then pointed out scratches on her hands by looking at them.
"Then who did?" Eddie asked hoping she'd say.
"Daddy." She replied and Eddies heart shattered.
"Is daddy here at home? Is he in the other room?" Eddie asked her pointing in the direction. She shook her head still scared about everything. Jamie got up to talk to
EMTs who started approaching them wanting to see Danielle.
"No no no!" She started yelling and ran into Eddies arms holding a death grip on her shirt.
"Okay okay. It's okay. These people are very nice..." Eddie said trying to get her to go with them. Jamie tried to pull her off Eddie but she was not letting go she was screaming.
"I'll just carry her it's okay." Eddie said and started walking out of the house. They all got to the ambulance and there was a crowd of nosey neighbors forming.
"Jamie I can't leave her." Eddie said quietly to him as her arms were still wrapped around Eddies neck.
"You have to. She's going to be fine, mom just has a few scrapes she'll be with her. We gotta write up the report, talk to child services, get home to our own daughter...?" Jamie reminded her hoping to ease her mind.
"You can do that, you were there, you know what happened." She said, Jamie cocked his head at her.
"I don't know what kind of contact you had with the mom I was too busy wrestling around with the dad" Jamie explained in defense.
"You know the general idea." Eddie argued.
"Janko you know the drill c'mon. Let this one go." He said.
"...No." Eddie said and started to get into the ambulance with the girl.
"No?" Jamie asked taken back and surprised, he watched her settle in the ambulance, and she ignored him.
"Officer Janko, I'm giving you a direct order." Jamie said turning all sarge on her. She stared at him, not believing he was doing this right now, the emts got in the ambulance and she shut the door on him. Off they went to the hospital. Leaving Jamie stand there with a crowd of people watching and other officers, he was pissed.

An little later Jamie got back to the precinct, he told the front desk to send Eddie back to his office as soon as she got back in. He sat down and started filling out all the paperwork aggressively, he was still fired up at what happened.

An hour later...
"You wanted to see me." Eddie said standing in the doorway to Jamie's office.
"Close the door." He said with his back toward her. Until he turned around in his chair to see her shutting the door.
"Look...huh, Jamie I-" Eddie started to apologize but Jamie cut her off.
"What the hell were you thinking!? You don't disobey a direct order! I was the sergeant on the scene and you know that means!" Jamie blew up at her she was taken back at how pissed he was but did understand.
"I know, I know. I shouldn't have acted that way, I let it get personal. If I could go back and redo it I'd let it go. I shouldn't have disobeyed you like that and I'm sorry." Eddie admitted sincerely.
"An apology isn't gonna fix this Janko, what's done is done." Jamie said.
"...what are you saying?" Eddie asked confused.
"How's it gonna look when other cops see you disobeying orders from me and I don't do anything about it?" Jamie questioned.
"Are you serious?" Eddies face went from sincere to pissed real quick.
"yeah! I have to go to Espinoza about this. I'm writing you up." Jamie told her knowing Rachel could get jammed up if they both gave 2 different statements about what happened. Rachel along with other officers were there to witness Eddie disobey his order.
"But he'll suspend me!" Eddie shouted.
"Yeah probably." Jamie said firmly and nodded at her going back to his paperwork. Eddie shook her head at him, her blood was boiling.
"Jackass." She left the room slamming the door behind her thinking Jamie was being unbelievable. Now they were both pissed.

Well I have a feeling family dinner tomorrow might be a little awkward. Who's side are you on? (And tell me that wasn't a fun read even though they're mad at each other!?)
