Pregnancy Problems

Harry excepted some semblance of peace when he returned to his chambers, instead he found; a fretting mermaid, a consoling elf, a cursing med-witch, and unconscious vampire, and a twinkling eyed headmaster overseeing the situation.

'What the? Daphne?' Harry said as he scrambled to the vampire, running his hands through her hair. Her lips were a deep blue and her skin a deathly grey, her vein appeared like dark shadows under her almost translucent skin.

'Should have told me your morning sickness was this bad girl, how am I to help when I don't know.' Madam Pomphrey muttered under her breath as she ran diagnostic spells over the unconscious form. 'Never lost a patient yet and you will not be the first.'

'What happened?' Harry asked turning to Susan who was shushing a hiccupping Pansy.

'I was helping her to get Daphne to take her….breakfast' the young elf said slowly unsure of the terms she should be using. 'When she gasped, and clutched her stomach, she locked eyes with Pansy and proceeded too….' At this Susan moved pansy's shirt to the side to revel a bit mark. Harry's eyebrows went into his hairline. He knew what happened the last time she had drank blood that wasn't his. Was her pregnancy making her worse? What would have driven her to seek nourishment from the mermaid.

'I am uncertain what happened next, as Pansy pushed Daphne from her, saying something in a tongue I didn't understand. Daphne then began to convulse and well you have eyes, mate of mine.' Susan finished as Pansy sobbed throwing herself at Harry.

'I'm sorry! But it hurt so much, I know she didn't mean it, I didn't mean to hurt her I just wanted it to stop' Pansy sobbed, and Harry hugged her too him.

'It's, She'll, shhh.' He said weakly turning to Daphne as the med-witch rounded on the headmaster.

'I swear to Merlin Morgana and Maeve you'd best have an answer for me headmaster. I've cured her blood poisoning, but she is too dehydrated, too malnourished, to bring herself out of unconsciousness.' The Med witch explained.

'The usual things I would try to ease extreme morning sickness I can't try on Mrs Potter due to her creature traits. So, Dumbledore What in the name of Avalon do I do?'

Harry blanched at the fierce determination in the matron's eyes and he had no doubt that if the headmaster gave her the wrong answer then she would have no qualms about hexing him into the next century.

'Perhaps giving the usual potions to my nephew, and have the youngling drink his blood might help. I would advise you also give the boy any other potions that would assist a malnourished infant.' Came a voice from the doorway and the occupants of the room turned to see an intimidating figure dressed in a deep crimson bustle dress, brown curls done up in an intricate bun atop her head and red eyes that glistened with both superiority and an over whelming sense that she was the hunter and they were her prey.

'Consorta Potter.' Dumbledore said politely and bowed his head lightly.

The woman ignored him and elegantly knelt beside the young vampire. Her eyes flicked over the girl and she raised her wrist daintily to her own lips and allowed her own fangs to Peirce the skin, she then pressed the bleeding limb to Daphne's mouth and waited until the girl's tongue came out slowly lapping at the wound, groaning as she did so. Once the older vampire was satisfied that the younger was awake, she stood and regarded Harry with those haunting eyes.

'Your Vampire is pregnant, since she can only gain sustenance and nourishment from her mate, I assume that whilst your child is in her womb you become your dhampir's only source of nourishment, if you wish them both to survive this unusual circumstance. You must ensure that your blood carries all your child needs, if my theory is correct. Do you understand?'

Harry nodded weakly and Pansy abruptly let go of him as Daphne struggled to sit. Madam Pomphrey assisting her as well. The Consorta of the Vampire line, slowly drew her eyes from her nephew and turned to look at the younger vampire.

'A Greengrass, how the fates do mock us.' She sighed and made to walk out of the room when a scream echoed throughout the room. The vampire turned to Hermione's room and lifted her nose slightly breathing in the scent.

'My, you have been busy, nephew mine.' She said with a smirk, as the door opened and Ginny popped her head out.

'Headmaster, should I go get professor Lupin?' She asked meekly as she opened the door further to revel a shocked Hermione staring in a mirror, her top raised to revel a small but obvious bump.

'We need to get you lying down Mrs Granger-Potter.'

'We need a sect meeting.'

'I warned him about the fertility moon'

'I need a drink.'

'He needs castrated!'

Harry gulped and moved his hand over his genitals as he stepped away from his mermaid mate. As Madam Pomphrey placed some diagnostic spells on his she-wolf.

'Alright then dear, you are about 2 weeks along, in werewolf terms, in human terms that puts you at around 3 months, the start of your second trimester.' Madam Pomphrey said brightly.

'Bitch missed all the morning sickness.' Daphne muttered as she sucked some of Harry's potion enhanced blood through a straw.'

'There are other dangers for their kind, I believe.' The Consorta Potter said with a frown as she watched the younger girl closely. Fascinated by the change in the girl's demeanour with just a few potions added to the boy's blood. As much as she was pained to say it, the Greengrass girl had provided the vampire faction with renewed hope for their kind. She was also glad her theory was correct, and that potions in her nephew's bloodstream were enough to help the girl.

It was no secret that the vampires had been dwindling. With new laws and potions becoming available the need to drain or even drink form a witch or wizard at all was becoming less of a requirement, which in turn meant less people being turned, and thus less vampires.

If Vampire's could now produce their own young with human mates, then that would mean a reassurance in her people and some of their worries would be removed.

Bellatrix looked at the young she wolfs on the bed. A pregnant she wolf was rare, rarer still for a born wolf to conceive. She glanced at the vampire queen and the pregnant vampire. She was right, whilst a wolf's pregnancy was relatively easy in terms of length and lack of symptoms, there was the almost always devastating loss of miscarriage during a full-moon transformation.

A female wolf manged to carry a pup to term once in a thousand. However Bellatrix knew that there was something going on with the Seven. Perhaps it would be Hermione's child that would bring back the strength of the wolves and renew the pups of her race. Too many of them had taken human mates, weakening the wolf magic within the children and causing premature miscarriage. She had herd tales of the she wolves of old who had had litter after litter of strong healthy pups without issue or fear of losing them. But throughout the centuries the magic that the wolves had given their original wizard Atticus Black, had diminished and they were left having to turn people in order to keep their faction strong.

'The vampire is right, cub.' Bellatrix said suddenly, there was little point in hiding the truth from the young girl, it was her body, her cub after all. 'The cub within you may not be able to handle the moon.' She said delicately, hoping the girl might take her meaning without having to explain further.

'I might miscarry come the moon?' Hermione said suddenly, her arm going around the small bump on her stomach.

'I believe you may not, Mrs Potter, I believe that there is something at work, some twist of fate that entwines your fate with Mr Potter's.' Dumbledore added gently, with a small encouraging smile. 'After all Mrs Greengrass-Potter is the first Vampire to ever conceive a child, that in its self has to mean something, though what I am not yet sure.'

'Potter's spawn nearly killed her!' Pansy snapped. Glaring at Harry who backed into Sirius lightly.

'Worried Parkinson?' Ginny smirked at the girl.

Pansy scoffed at the firebird and turned away. 'I'm a fish I know what getting up the duff means for me, I have no wish of a shoal, before I finish school!'

Daphne from her place beside the leader of her faction snorted and muttered something about lesbian fears.

'For the most part Mrs Potter, your pregnancy will progress more or less like a human one, only a little faster I estimate that you'll be at full term in around, six and a half weeks or so, if you have any other question please feel free to come and see me.' The med-witch said gently and took her leave of the room, now that all of her patients were seen too.

'Harry.' Hermione said weakly, she wasn't ready to be a mother, certainly not in six weeks.

'Six weeks.' Harry muttered and slumped down into the couch, with Susan and Ginny on either side of him.

'You alright pup?' Sirius asked gently. To which Harry shook his head.

Daphne in a rare show of camaraderie walked over to Hermione and gave the girl a hug. 'We can help each other.' She said gently. Hermione looked at the other girl in genuine sincerity and smiled welcomingly.

'We will all help.' Susan said kindly, holding Harry's hand.

'We're family.' Ginny assured the two pregnant girls.

'Coven.' Daphne affirmed.

Hermione smiled at the people she had come to share her life with. 'Pack'

Pansy rolled her eyes but nodded, there was no way she was comparing there rag-tag little harem as a Shoal.

'Granger.' Daphne asked slowly looking past the girl and into the girl's room. 'What happened in there?'

Harry and the others looked past the two girls and they saw that on the floor of her room was the tore out pages of books, the spine tossed in the corner, her blankets and pillows had been piled up to look a lot like a muggle fort.

'I….'Hermione said gently.

Remus smiled. 'Hermione, my dear, were you nesting?' Remus said gently and Hermione's cheeks flushed.

'So that's were all the cushions went' Susan said looking at the empty couch and chairs. 'I thought I was going mad.'

'Hermione Granger destroying books….well I never.' Ginny smirked and Hermione chose to bury her fact in Daphne's shoulder.

'Headmaster, I believe that Bellatrix and myself require a discussion with Adrianna.' Dacia said turning away from the odd mateships of her nephew.

'Of course she is in my office I believe.' Dumbledore said holding his hand out for the women to take the lead.

The Potter Consorta stopped suddenly and turned back to her nephew. 'Should you wish to talk, I will return to the castle. Had your father lived, we would have met much sooner than this, for that I am sorry.' She said with a small frown on her face, before she followed Bellatrix out of the room, the headmaster following behind her.

'She misses him.' Remus said lightly.

'She's missed him a lot longer than the rest of us.' Sirius shrugged, he knew as well as anyone what the role of Consort could do to a family.

'Sirius.' Harry said an edge of panic to his voice.

'Were here for you prongslet, just like always.' Sirius said as Remus dragged him out of the room, leaving Harry and his girls alone.

The rest of the day was spent with Harry spending a rare time with all five of his mates. The evening drew to a close with Harry nestled between, Hermione and Daphne and Pansy curled up on a chair, as they watched Susan and Ginny in a chess match to the death.
