The last year had gone splendidly since Harry and I got together. We had not had one arguement and I think overall we were both genuinely really happy. Our heads roles were going great and so was our combined role of Quidditch Captain. The Gryffindor team had not lost a game yet this season, in fact in our last match the other team didn't score any points thanks to Harry's quick catch of the snitch.
I couldn't believe how well this year had turned out, and sadly it was almost over. Final exams were upon us and Harry and I were really busy. McGonagall and Dumbledore had asked us to organise a 7th Years ball. It hadn't been done before and that's why they apparently left us to the task. We both wanted it to be magical, a time for all us 7th Years to bond before leaving school and going our seperate ways.
We had organised it to be 2 days before the end of school term, and the day NEWTS finished. A time for everyone to finally relax and let down there hair. Although for me it would be quite the opposite. Exams were next week and they were to run for two weeks. Thankfully I was only taking five subjects so I had one subject then a day off, then another exam and so on.
Harry and I had been studying, yes Harry was studying. I guess when I'm the one forcing him to do it he doesn't find it that bad. Its the same with Ron and Hermione. Anyway, we had been studying for weeks, as Harry and I still had the ball to organise we wanted to do that on days off. Less stress. We were both pretty confident with all our subjects, so we'd be fine.
Harry and I were now sitting in the heads common room planning the ball the night before our first exam. The exam was Defence Against the Dark Arts. Harry was Top of the class in that and I was second, so we didn't really need to study.
"So what is the theme going to be?" Harry asked me, whilst we drew up our plan to decorate the grounds. We couldn't use the great hall as we wouldn't have time to set that up after exams.
"Well I want it to be elegant, very formal"
"Hang on, Is Ginny Weasley telling me she's going to wear a dress."
"Maybe, anyway back to theme. How bout' a Masquerade ball, that would be so cool."
"I guess, but I really want to see your face."
"Don't worry, we can have all the girls wear masks then after the first dance they all take them off. It'll just make it a little fun."
"Ok good idea, how bout invitations.?"
"I'll design one now, I'm thinking maybe something like this." I magiced up something on a bit of parchment and showed it to him.
"That's beautiful Ginny! How did you do that?" Harry asked
"My Mum taught me, I really do enjoy it. Well now that sorted what next?"
"I think maybe we should do some quick study." He winked at me as he said 'Study'. I didn't understand.
"Yeah, I think we should study." I said, "I could actually use with some help with some DADA stuff. Care to help?"
You could say we tried to study, but I woke up in the morning of exams in Harry's lap. No, please do not think like that. Nothing happened.
The two of us headed down to breakfast, ate nervously then went outside to wait for our Defense Against the dark arts exam to start. I felt good, I don't know if I'm weird or anything but I actually loved exams and I was said that this would be my last year. Anyway can't be helped there are bigger and better things ahead.
It was now Friday, better known as Harry, Ron, Hermione and I's, designated double date night. Tonight we were going to the Three Broomsticks for a little game of 'Never have I ever'. Firewhiskey style.
At 9 o'clock the four of us headed down the secret passageway to Honeydukes. The owners were upstairs so no one would hear us quitely walk in and out of the shop. We snuck out with a bottle of firewhiskey from the cellar and headed to the Three Broomsticks. Madame Rosmerta had begun to expect us most Friday nights, we were regulars. We sat down in a booth away from the window while Madame Rosmerta came over and greeted us.
"What'll it be tonight you four?"
"Chilli Fries, please Madame Rosmerta." I said before anyone could say anything else. "And a treacle tart."
"No problem Ginny, coming right up."
"So who's going first?" Ron said grabbing the shot glasses out of his bag. "No one? Ok I'll go first, remember the rules. Glasses fill automatically if you have done it, anyone who doesn't drink it has to drink two instead."
We all nodded and the game started.
"Never have I ever, called Harry an Arrogant, Toe-rag" Ron started. Both Harry and I's glasses filled. I laughed, I guess Ron wasn't expecting that. "Seriously Harry, what have you come to, you called your own self an Arrogant Toe-rag." Harry just shrugged.
Hermione went next, "Never have I ever got below an Exceeds Expectations on an exam." Ron's glass was the only one to fill. He got an acceptable on potions last year.
I was next, "Never have I ever worn a dress." Hermione's glass filled as expected, but so did Harry and Ron's. I stared at them and laughed so hard. "Why in Merlin have you both worn a dress?" I asked them. They both mumbled something along the lines of Neville's dare.
The game continued until about midnight when Madame Rosmerta decided it was best for us to leave. Hermione and I were both pretty drunk so Harry and Ron, carried us back to the castle bridal style. Have I ever mentioned how cute they were.
The next morning I woke up hangover free. I can thank Harry for that one. We had a big five days ahead of us. Two exams and a massive ball to set up. We had help for that last one, the one that would be the most Magical. I couldn't wait.
