Avengers Crisis On Earth X Chapter 37
Jax was crying fighting the urge to hand the vial over to Stein. So he took a deep breath and nodded as Stein nodded for the vial as he took it.
"Thank you Jefferson"
"Grey..."
Stein drank the vial as he then waited for the inevitable.
He held Jax's hand as the two looked each other in the eyes before the vial did its job
"Stay with me please" Stein pleaded
"I'd prefer not to be alone"
Jax could only nod as the he tightened his grip of Stein's hand.
"Please. Tell Clarissa and Lily that I love them"
"I promise"
"Thank you Jefferson. For the adventure of a life time. I hope your life is long and full of love just as mine has been" Stein sobbed.
Sadly. Those were his final words to Jax as the vial took its toll. Freeing the both from the link. Stein's eyes closed as his grip of the vial loosened. The sound of only Jax calling his name, crying and the heart rate monitor could be heard.
Sara walked in as Stein died
Jax only shook his head confirming that he didn't make it.
Jax left the room as Sara kissed her friend goodbye.
Steve walks in as he see the sight of Stein passing.
"I'm sorry" he said.
"Just help me get him out of the chair"
Steve nods as he walks over to carry the man in his arms as Sara told him where to lay him down for the time being.
Iris finds Barry in the ship's library breaking the news.
Cisco and Bruce comfort Caitlin by the cockpit as Stein's glasses were placed behind them.
Ray Palmer held up a picture of him and Stein from on of their past adventures. With the other legends sitting by him he asks "Where's Jax?"
Jax however, left to immediately keep his promise by telling Clarissa and Lily the tragic news.
Jax rang the doorbell as Stein's wife made her way and opened the door.
"Jefferson!" she greeted
However there was a pause.
"I'm sorry" he said
Understanding what he meant, Clarissa only broke down in tears as she nearly fell grabbing on to Jax.
Then Stein's daughter Lily overhearing what was happening began to cry as Jax could only again shake his head letting her know her father passed away. She then joins him and her mother as they mourned the loss of Martin Stein.
Sara and Steve made their way back to the main deck as they met up with Oliver.
"How you holding up?" Oliver asks
"I'll cry at the funeral" she replied
Oliver then Stopped Sara as she was trying to bolt.
"Sara..."
"I'm fine" she assured.
"I uh. Had Stein laid to rest somewhere for now. Least for the time being" said Steve.
"We need to gather everyone. Overgirl is about to go nuclear and the Earth-Xers are gonna use their Waverider to threaten Central City and leverage us imto surrender Kara"
"How do you know that?" Sara asks.
"Because that's exactly what I would do"
On the Earth-X Waverider, Oliver and Kara were in the medical bay trying to stabilize Kara
"I'm sorry"
"For what?"
"For being so weak"
"I've managed to stabilize her deterioration but without a transplant she'll be dead within an hour" said Earth-X Gideon
"QUIET!" Oliver barked
"Don't you listen to her. There is more strength in you than in this entire planet of lesser humans combined"
On the Earth-1 Wave Rider a suited up Zair and Amanya made their way with the others.
"Nice outfit"
"Yeah I didn't wanna feel left out"
The Waverider was filled up with heroes suited up for battle.
"Where are we with locating the other Waverider?" asked Oliver
"We have a good idea. We've all heard of the Charter Shake our limit I assume?" added Curtis.
"It indicates that it's within the vancinity of Central City" added Zari
"Which means that Overgirl isn't long for this world" said The Ray.
"Which means that this world isn't long for this world" said Curtis.
"No no failure is not an option. LOSING is not an option we're gonna win! And we're gonna show these people that this earth belongs to us!" said Oliver rallying the troops.
"Great speech" added Killer Frost.
"You all heard Queen. Losing is out of the question. They already took the professor. We're not gonna let them take Kara or anyone else. So we fight. We can't let even one Nazi left standing. So we do this as a team. Earth-1, Earth-A, what matters is that right here right now, we are Earth's Mightiest Heroes. We are her best Defenders. From this moment on, you're all Avengers. We fight as one. Until the battle's won" said Steve
"I take that back. His was better" Frost adds.
"He is pretty good at that" Rocket said.
"Right???!?" adds Scott.
"Sorry to interrupt Captain Rogers, but we're being hailed by a fellow time ship" said Gideon
"Put it on!" said Oliver
Gideon played the distress message from Earth-X Oliver
"What do you want?" asked Sara.
"To offer a truce"
"In exchange for what?" asked Barry.
"We will return to our earth. Peacefully. If you meet my one demand. Supergirl comes with us!"
"Here's another difference between you and me. I DON'T ABANDON MY FRIENDS!" said Earth-1 Oliver ending the transmission.
"Alright. Everyone ready to go? Asked Sara.
"Never been more!" added Nate
"We can't bring Marty back. But we can protect the city he loved and the family he left behind!" said Palmer
"For the Professor!" said Sara.
"We're bringing the party to them!" added Tony.
Natasha looks around with a smirk and replies "Now this I can see how it's a party"
As everyone was ready for the final fight Sara simply leaves off with
"No let's go kick some ass!"
