A/N I just want to say sorry for the POV change in the middle of the chapter. It was going to be tow chapters but they were just too short. Anyway, enjoy.

"Oh my god Lexa," you say, finally recognising your destination.

"Took you long enough. You literally lived here for six years."

"Yeah, but in my defence, the world did not look like this."

Lexa laughed before you continued.

"Why are we now coming here though?"

"Well, now there is no reason for Madi to hide from us. One of our children will most likely ascend when I die."

"Oh. But promise me something." Lexa nods. "You will not force our children to be the Commander after you if they do not want to."

"I promise. If both of our children reject the flame, then the Commander will be chosen from the natblidas that are willing. And I am also trying to figure out a way for the next Commander to ascend, if it is not Nova or Cedar, without killing the rest of the natblidas."

"I love you so much. Did you know that?"

"Yes Clarke, but it would not hurt to say it again, just in case."

You roll your eyes and hit her lightly on her shoulder. However, Nova, who was strapped to your chest, woke up with your sudden movements and started crying while Lexa laughed at you.

You finally reached the village, where six of your most peaceful years on the ground occurred. The whole village comes out of their huts ot see their Commander, these visits rarely happen. After the whole greeting, and a meal, you set out to look for the one reason that you know Lexa brought you here for. You approach her most frequently used hiding spot, the one where you know she is, and sit down.

"Shopta strik natblida," you say. (Hey my little nightblood)

You stay there for a second, Lexa watching on intently, before you see a young set of eyes peak out at you. Then, the rest of the little girl finally comes out, tackling you in a hug, throwing you backwards onto the floor. Her parents had seen you approach her hiding spot and were worried, but after seeing her reaction to you, their worry morphed into confusion.

"Snap kom dalop nami." (Took you long enough)

"Clarke!" she yells, squeezing you as tight as possible. Then, she turned to greet her other visitor. "Heda."

"Just Lexa to you," says Lexa.

"How long ago did you regain your memories?" you ask her.

"About nine or ten months. I tried to come to Polis but my parents did not let me."

"I know. It's okay. I wanted to come, but I had to wait until Lexa removed the threat of the conclave. If you do not wish, natblidas do not have to train for the conclave anymore. Also, meet my other children, Cedar," you say pointing to the boy in Lexa's arms. "And Nova."

"Hi babies," she coos. "I'm guessing that is because of the flame."

"You would be correct," responds Lexa. "And I just wanted to thank you for looking after Clarke for me, even before you took the flame."

"You're welcome," Madi says before she is engulfed by Lexa.

"And I am sorry about the whole Sheidheda thing," your wife says, still hugging Madi.

"It was not your fault. Anyway, I am assuming you found a way to prevent Praimfaya."

"Well more like Raven found a way. Something about acids and bases and a whole set of chemicals and reactions. I have no idea to be honest."

"Good. Now, do I get to hold my siblings or not?"

"Sure," you say. "Which one you want?"

"Nova."

You place the girl in Madi's little six year old arms, teaching Madi how to hold the babies.

"So no one knows that you are a one hundred and thirty seven year old in the body of your six year old self?"

"No Clarke. And why do you have to make it sound like that?"

You laugh, Lexa joining in, as you all sit by the lake where you drew Madi, and where you saw her fishing.

"Anyway, what has happened in the last ten months?"

"Not much," answers Lexa. "We got married, had kids, and defeated the Maunon."

"Oh yeah and Echo died," you tell her, almost forgetting. "We did not get to the Mountain in time. And Raven and Murphy got together. We have been looking for Emori, not to get her and Murphy back together, that's one hundred percent done, but it's been impossible to find her. And Skaikru joined the coalition. That's about it."

"Okay. Let's go swim," she says.

You glance at Lexa who nods. You take Nova, give her to Lexa and follow Madi into the lake. After a few minutes of splashing about ungracefully, Lexa calls out to you.

"Clarke, we should have brought one of your friends to watch the twins."

"You want to swim? I can watch them," you say, suddenly feeling a little guilty.

"No, it's okay. I want you to enjoy yourself with Madi. Next time we'll force Octavia and Lincoln to come though."

"Definitely."

"My parents can watch them if you want," said Madi, apparently having heard your conversation.

Lexa looked at you, and you looked at her. The two babies were already so important to you both, and you are both reluctant to place them in the care of anyone but Octavia, Lincoln, Bellamy, Kane, Indra, Raven, Monty and Harper. However, you do trust Madi, so it was quite a difficult decision.

"Um, Madi. Are you sure your parents could protect her in case someone wanted to attack them to get to Lexa?"

"Yes. They are two of the village's best warriors."

"Okay. I trust you."

Madi and you climb out of the lake, and Lexa follows the two of you to Madi's parents' hut. You hand off Nova and Cedar, and after a lot of Madi stressing just how important it is that the two babies stay safe, the three of you head back to the lake. The rest of the afternoon is spent with you, Madi and Lexa splashing about in the lake.

Lexa's POV

"Please stop that Lexa."

You turn your head, looking away from your wife and at the young natblida.

"What did she do?" said wife asks.

"It's very subtle, but spending a few months with Lexa in my head I can see it. The subtle expression that says she just wants to jump into bed with you, make love to you and hold you forever."

You swat Madi on her shoulder, thoroughly mortified. "Stop."

"No way. You were in my head, showing me awful things and thinking worse things about my mother. This is payback."

"Oh really Madi. What did Lexa show you?"

"Clarke!" you admonish.

"She showed me when she bowed to you, and when you bowed to her, and how she wanted it to be done in the confines of her bedroom without the inhibitions of clothes. And when she chose her best looking nightgown after the fight with Roan to try to get you to throw her onto the bed and take her right there. And she showed me things from the bedroom before she died that makes me wish I never retained my memories. Disgusting really."

"Lexa! That was my child," Clarke scolds.

"Sorry," you apologise sheepishly.

"Well if it makes you feel any better, I was thinking mostly the same thing," she admits.

"Ew," says Madi. "Stop before I actually throw up."

Clarke laughs, causing some of the nearby villagers to glance up to the small spot on the roof where the three of you were currently residing.

"Come on Madi, let's get you to bed. I'm sure you are way past your bedtime."

"But it's still early," she complains.

"Your parents are going to get mad at us if we keep you any longer. Then, you won't be allowed to be out with us again. And, you won't get to see Nova and Cedar again."

"Fine," Madi relents.

You all make your way to Madi's parents' hut, where Madi leaves you both with a hug, and Cedar and Nova rejoin you.

"Heda," Madi's mother, Mary, greets. "They've been asleep for an hour. Good night."

"Good night," you return before turning your back to them and walking back to your hut, baby in one arm and wife in the other.
