Chapter 38
One big happy family
His mind continues to whirl thinking about what might have happened and what still could.
I'm going to be in a fight for my life if she even gets a hint of what went down with those two.
Joe and the two young women came to an agreement. They would return to Bristol Cove and resume their conversation with him one at a time. The explanation for their disappearance is something they can work out during the drive back.
At the present, Joe needs to create his own reason for the time downstairs.
I'll tell her I have to go to Bristol Cove. I do have a damn job.
He stops a few feet from the door.
It took so long due to, he needs time to think.
It was a confidential message. It concerned this mermaid pain-in-the-ass stuff.
He takes the key card out, but the door opens from the inside.
Remember you super spy, he presses his lips together as he tries to think of an old adage.
A good liar gives details, a great lair gives none.
Shrugging his shoulder, "or something like that." He murmurs.
Attempting to talk as he enters the only sound from his mouth is a hoarse gurgle.
"You think I don't know what you have been up to." Angel reverting to the persona of Tia sneers as her fingers grip Joe's neck.
With one hand clutching her arm, he uses the other to wrench Angel's wrist from his throat.
"I find you with those two whores." She shoves his body to the door. "That stupid scientist and the bitch's daughter." In her fury to exercise the rage, saliva sprays her victim's contorting face. "That Maddie was holding your hand and that little brat was touching you. Were you planning on having sex with them?" Angel's nostril appear to be exhaling steam, or is it an illusion for the soon to be unconscious man?
Her face is inches from his. "I came down cause, I love you so much. I needed to be near you."
She begins to shake the writhing figure before her. "I love you so much. How could you do this?"
Joe squirms as his grasp of her arm and wrist begin to falter.
"You are mine. I own this body. I am your Queen."
Her facial muscles strain as talon-like fingers hold him against the door. The expression is one of pure evil.
If she lift me up I'm through.
His mind remembers a technique used by the woman to force him to cease struggling.
Moments before blacking out, the seasoned agent lifts his knee. The recollections of many close quarter battles enables muscle memory to take over.
Thrusting his heel downward, Joe smashes Angel's bare foot. She screeches and drops her head as a bent elbow meets her jaw. The sound of rattled teeth fill the room.
As he falls back against the door, he holds a bruised throat and gasps for air.
"I will teach you to obey me." Her fingers claw his t-shirt as she twists toward the back of the room. In one motion she flings Joe to the rear of the apartment. He flies through the air banging into the wall. His form lies motionless beneath a dent in the dry-wall.
As these two lovers carry on, another pair do what they do best.
Bristol Cove
A sense of joy returns to the Pownall home. Hope plays with Little Ted in the small backyard as Maddie, Ryn and Ben touch each other's body.
As her finger glides along Maddie's breast, Ryn speaks.
"There will never be any need for you to be away from us. To be in need of isolation."
Ben kisses the back of the young woman's neck.
"Mad," he whispers. "We are a family." His arms travel around her bare stomach. "You are an equal part."
Kneeling in front of her, Ryn kisses the obliging woman's lips. "You are one of us."
Maddie opens her mouth, as the mermaid's tongue enters.
Ben begins to massage light brown breasts from behind as both women embrace each other.
Ryn leans back as Ben's fingers slide downward on Maddie's body. Her head rolls as a subtle moan travels from tense lips.
"Maddie, you will add to our family." Ryn whispers as a stiff tongue probes erect nipples. Maddie trembles from the sensations traveling along her skin.
Ben positions the shivering woman on her back as Ryn kneels between the once ignored lover's loins.
"Maddie, we have decided." The young overwhelmed lover needs to breathe, Ben has not stopped the massage. "You will have a child. Ben will mate with you." Ryn lowers her head. Looking up after licking his moist fingers. "Your baby will be our baby. You will never feel not family again."
Ryn's head disappears between trembling legs.
Ben holds Maddie's breasts as her head turns to meet his tongue. As their mouths mesh, Ben's mind bares a thought.
I don't remember agreeing to anything.
It is a small matter.
The lovemaking continues.
Pownall backyard
The vibrant toddler has finally surrendered to sleep. Sitting beside the snoring child, Hope's finger plays with a strand of blond hair. Twirling it into a loose curl, she speaks to the napping boy.
"I just hope Maddie is content with this sick relationship the three of them have." She shrugs her shoulders. "I guess mama and daddy are using her for a little fun." A smirk covers her expression. "They'll tire of that pathetic Maddie." Snorting a laugh, "in the meantime," Little Ted's squirming causes a pause.
"Shh…shh…little sweetheart." Hope rubs his stomach until he lies still.
"I intend to get that gorgeous hunk of a heartthrob. I wanna have sex. I can feel my time for mating is coming." A childish giggle rises from her lips.
"Oh, beautiful Joey. We will have a baby. We will have a beautiful life together." Hope sneers as she glazes at the back of the two story home.
"A life away from here."
The young teenager lies down next to her brother. Blue eyes close, thinking about her future.
