Chapter 24

So I've been trying to posts every day, but yesterday, when I was in the middle of typing a chapter, I spilled something on my laptop. It's going to take a while to fix so I'm writing on my Mum's laptop for now. The bad news is, lost most of the chapter I was writing so it took me extra long to write this

Sooo that's my excuse for posting late!

Ty Lee honestly liked Suki. She was a capable leader and warrior and the acrobat looked up to her for the most part. Just… sometimes a twinge of jealousy couldn't help but show through. Ty Lee wasn't a jealous type of person. She could charm most boys of her nation. But something about the Water Tribe boy felt different. She actually, genuinely… liked him. Maybe his ethnicity intrigued her, him being one of the first people she had met from the South Pole. No… it was something deeper. More personal.

Ty Lee had been emursed in the idea of auras most of her life. It was her way of understanding and her ability to see other's auras was a gift that gave her vivid insight. Sokka's aura was something bright. Something she wanted in her life. She was tired of being the solitary upbeat character of her previous groups. Even the Kyoshi Warriors were less serious. How could it be that he maintained the sarcasm masked mental peace when she could tell he had suffered losses?

Suki, her leader, her friend still could turn Ty Lee's bouncy pink aura to a seething green with one movement. It was just something she had to adapt to over time. Spending time at the beach reminded the girl of her previous stay at the island. The lengthy firelit confessions, the teary speeches. It had felt like something from a book, too perfect to be real.

Circus freak.

Forced to embrace the nickname because the alternative was to despair and that was one thing Ty Lee refused to make a habit of.

Forced to become Circus Freak, being the only thing to differentiate her from her six identical sisters.

Forced to give up the circus, the place she had been truly happy, to join Azula, who controlled her with fear.

Suki honestly liked Ty Lee. She wasn't blind. She saw how the acrobat looked at her boyfriend. Did she feel threatened? She was almost certain Ty Lee wasn't the type to make a jealous move. Suki would trust her with her life. So it wasn't mistrust… it could even be pride. She had met Sokka first, and kissed him on Kyoshi island. Ty Lee had been on the side of the enemy, Azula throughout the war.

Not that it was a grudge to be held. Suki knew Azula's means of recruitment were merely badly judged actions to intimidate her 'friends'.

What was she doing? She was sitting in the beach house, pondering Ty Lee, her fellow warrior's trustworthiness! Not exactly noble behaviour.

As soon as the thoughts had been banished from her mind, Sokka entered the room.

"You ok? Everyone's been wondering where you are"

She stood. "I'm fine. I'm coming." She cast a glance around the room again, ashamed of her previous thinking. She inwardly apologised to Ty Lee and followed her boyfriend out of the room. The sun was just setting.

Sat alone on a rock just by the edge of the sea, legs crossed staring at nothing was the person Suki sought. She put an arm around the girl startling her at first, but then feeling her shoulders relax, a smile across her face.

"I'm with you"

I always wanted to write about the relationship between Suki and Ty Lee so that was my chance! I'll try to get to the plot at some point I promise!

Who's your favourite out of the two? I'll have to go with Suki!
