I walked into the Nurses office and nodded to recovery girl. "He's resting dear."
"I won't be long." I said as I stepped around the curtain. Deku's arm was wrapped in a large cast. "Well, that was certainly impressive." I remarked.
"I think I may have over did it." He laughed as I sat on the chair next to him.
"If it get's the job done, then it isn't over doing it." I gave him a light punch on the cheek. "You are amazing."
He looked away from me, a blush on his face. "But I didn't win."
"So what? Now you know that you need to get stronger, and if I can beat him all the better." I just waved it off, "Just beat him next time, that's the point of training right?"
"Yeah, yeah your right." He smiled as he looked at his free hand. "I'll beat him next time."
I grabbed his hand and closed it, "And not destroy your body in the process, I still need my fight out of you." I smirked.
"R... right." He stammered as I let go of his hand, and for a second it felt like I should take it again, but it quickly passed.
Chapter 26: Matches
After Deku was done being patched up we walked back to the Balcony, "Our next match is Hanta Sero Vs Momo Yaoyoraozu." Aizawa announced. We took our seats as elbow tape went off against with the class genius.
The bell rung and the fight began, Sero launched a pincer attack of tape that flanked the black haired girl, the palm of her hand glowed as she created a sword cutting through the tape with ease and closing in on the boy slashing at him. He leaped backwards. "Momo has this one." I said, "Sero is at a disadvantage, he works best when he can get some height in a fight. If he wants to win this, he has to either end this quickly or draw it out long enough to tire her out."
"Your right, she has him on the defensive." Tokoyami said.
Sero ducked under her sword and used his tape the pin her arms to her side, and grabbing the material he spun her around going to throw her out, but her skin under the tape glowed as thin razor blades cut through the tape releasing her. She landed on the edge of the stage. Sero charged her, slamming his shoulder into her while turning to stick a line of tape to the stage, pulling himself back in. Momo hit the ground.
"Hanta Sero wins!" Midnight called out.
The two came up as the next match began, Kaminari Vs Shiozaki of one 1-B.
The two walked onto opposite sides of the arena. The girl seemed rather demure and passive in attitude, holding her hands like she was praying. I didn't pay any attention to Present Mics introduction of the two. But she didn't like being called a assassin.
"Begin!" Midnight raised her arm as she called the start of the fourth match.
Kaminari activated his quirk, electricity filled the arena spreading in a circle around him. Shiozaki turned her back to him as her hair sprung to the ground cracking the cement and making a protective barrier for her before tearing it's self away from her. Her hair stuck into the ground again, spreading through the cement towards the blonde spark plug, sprouting a massive tangle of vines to trap him. He tried to use his quirk to break free, but soon... A dumb look came to his face as he short circuited his own brain. She let him down, and he was shuffling around with two thumbs up.
"That was quick." Maybe I had underestimated the 1-B students. We were half way through the first round and I looked at the bracket, 'Iida was next with the support class girl, Hatsume. I wonder what she has up her sleeve?' I turned my attention down to the arena. The two walked onto the arena, and... 'What is he wearing?'
Iida was wearing some sort of device. that had two 'wings' with weights on it strapped to his back. "Support items are not allowed." Midnight said.
"Oh, I'm sorry, but my opponent asked me to use this." He said.
Midnight looked at Cementos who just shrugged. "Alright." She said. "Begin!"
A loud sound of a mic connecting to the speakers and Hatsume's voice boomed. "Hello to any support companies who are watching. I'm Mei Hatsume!"
What followed was so embarrassing to even watch as Iida tried to keep his balance as she used the match to show off her 'babies', hover boots, auto balancers, a back pack that kept you out of danger. Iida stumbled around as he used his quirk to charge her and try and end this but a pole would vault her out of the way.
"This... is a advertisement." Deku said as I stood up.
"Where are you going Fuma?" Uraraka asked.
"Just getting some water." I waved them off as I went to a fountain. I walked down to a fountain and took a few large gulps before a large shadow fell over my back, along with a lot of heat. Slowly I turned to look at a large man who had flames burning across his chest and face. "Your Endeavour." I said. He had almost a manic look in his eye as he looked down at me.
He crossed his arms, "Keeping a injury to get a upper hand in a match. You are a interesting fighter. But you won't beat my son."
I smirked darkly, "Well, we will just have to see don't we?" I said as I walked away from him. "After all, he has never fought anyone like me. And I don't think he has enough power to beat me."
"You best watch that mouth..." He took a step to stand in front of me, "Shoto will be the number one Hero."
"Well, who decided that?" I turned and walked away.
I turned a corner and came face to face with a another pro hero, a tanned woman with white hair and bunny ears, a white leotard with a gold moon on her breasts, powerful legs in black stockings and steel toed and heeled foot gear. A key card hung around her neck. "Oh, your the girl from the first match. Fuma." She said, a large smile and red eyes looked me over.
"Yeah... wait, your Mirko, the Rabbit hero." I said. "You also on security?" I asked.
"Yeah, Nezu wanted as many top heroes here as he could." She said, "You have some time before your next match right?" She asked.
"I do have some time." I said.
She smiled, "Well then, I have to admit. Wanting a fair fight, even using your quirk to empower your opponent, that was risky." She said, "But I have to respect that."
"It's more fun that way, after all this is a festival. It wouldn't be much if I just blew through everyone." I said. "All I want is a challenge, and that's this whole tournament right?"
"Of course kid, say, I'll be keeping an eye on you, you seem a lot like me." She ruffled my hair as she walked away, "Get back to your friends kid."
Chapter completed, and time for video games.
