#024: Arbok
An Arbok never blinks, a useful trait for a pokemon that has made weapons of its eyes, paralysing prey with its hypnotising gaze before overcoming them with coils or venom.
While they rarely target humans, it is inexplicably assumed (as with quicksand and frenzied Sharpedo) that a hungry Arbok is a common danger. A section on 'How to Survive an Arbok Attack' is a mainstay of children's survival handbooks worldwide.
The survival technique is simple but effective. Arbok don't blink because they have no eyelids. A handful of dirt to the face is enough to fend off all but the most famished, and ground-type attacks can debilitate them for days. For a desert-dwelling pokemon, Arbok fare terribly in sandstorms.
