Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens rewritten

I know I'm gonna get hate and death threats shoved up the ass for this, but I don't hate the new trilogy. But if I were rewriting it, is it any indication that I think it's perfect? Of course not! But what I'm doing here is reintroducing familiar elements but putting new spins on them. So try to keep an open mind here, okay?

27. Ch 24 Evacuate!

Rey runs towards them and they get in the elevator. Finn automatically pushes a button flashing red. The doors open and see a trail of red lights on the floor. Finn leads the way. "Come on! These lights lead to an escape pod! It's a standard for all capital ships!"

Chewbacca brings out his commlink and roars into it. It turns out he's trying to communicate to Leia back on Coruscant. "It's good to hear you Chewie, but is Han there?" Chewbacca gives a regretful mumble. "I was afraid of that… But there's no time for mourning. I'm guessing it's safe to attack the dreadnought now?" Chewbacca gives an affirmative roar as they run.

Leia changes the frequency on her commlink. "Grand Admiral Ackbar? Our friends are nearing their escape. Finish off the dreadnought."

"Copy that, General. All bombers! Finish that dreadnought!" Our heroes round a corner to see Bennold use a New Order keycard to get into the escape pod bay. As soon as he's about to enter an escape pod, Rey yells at him. "You're with them?!" Chewbacca roars angrily. "It's! I-I! Think I…" Chewbacca then grabs him by the throat, throws him into an escape pod, climbs in with him along with Finn and Rey and escape towards the planet below just as soon as the star killer dreadnought explodes.
