Kagome gripped at the sleeves of her uniform. She'd forgone her hero outfit for this exercise. She'd kept her design simple with a shirt that cut off around the midriff and left her shoulders exposed. However a scar now marred the flesh above her hip where Dabi had sealed her wound. He'd warned her that the azure flames burned so hot that the cells could not regenerate. Which meant that the scar left behind would be permanent. She didn't mind it overall but she wasn't quite willing to answer too many questions as of yet.

So she stuck to the typical U.A. gym uniform.

Eventually she'd have to fess up when time came, but that was neither here nor now.

A sharp feeling of foreboding rushed through her. Kagome went stiff.

Something was wrong.

The feeling she got earlier and the reporters that'd stormed the campus. They had been connected after all.

Her eyes narrowed as the lights flickered.

This was it.

"Get back!" Kagome threw her arm out in front of the other students.

"Higurashi?" Midoriya stepped forward. "What's going on?" His classmates echoed the same sentiment. Kagome clenched her jaw in response. How she wished her feeling had been wrong today. Once, just once, she wanted to be wrong about her instincts.

"Eraser!" The young woman referred to her teacher by his hero name. "We've got company!" If they were going to fight then she would treat him as a hero, not a teacher. She'd obtained her license the previous year. Aizawa had pushed her to the brink and back but she'd managed to get it by the skin of her teeth. It wasn't much but she could fight villains under situations such as these. There would be no legal repercussions for the school to face.

She lowered herself into an offensive position, "I'll use my quirk to set up an offensive line. Thirteen, you take care of the others. Your ability would be best used to defend them."

She didn't know who was responsible. All she knew for certain was that someone had targeted their class. Until they knew what their goals were, their only real option was to hold off the attack and let the others escape. From there they could warn the other teachers and send backup.

Aizawa pulled the scarf from his neck, "You heard the girl, Thirteen. We'll head up the frontlines." He lowered his voice as he addressed her directly, "Don't overuse your ability while you're out there Higurashi. Fight smart."

She nodded once.

The young woman focused her attention on the swell of energy beginning to form. A mass of black appeared at the center of the platform below. People she didn't recognize poured out of the abyss. There were so many. They stepped out of the fissure one after another. The amount of people far surpassed what she could count visibly from her current position.

Kagome gnashed her teeth.

There were too many.

She swallowed thickly.

No. She could handle this.

She hadn't gone through all that training with Dabi for nothing. She wasn't the same as she used to be.

She could do this.

Azure eyes thinned dangerous at the male that emerged from the darkness. Disembodied hands covered his face, arms, shoulders and back. She couldn't make out any of his features but she could tell that he was the one responsible.

Kagome lowered onto her haunches, "Let's go!"

She would fight.
