"IT'S TO PROTECT THESE TWO"
"There he goes again"
Nejire mused as the four of us watched Aizawa lecture the five students who failed their finals. "I heard they didn't sleep until 2 am", I said making them look at me in disbelief.
"A-Aizawa-sensei is so scary", Tamaki said as he looked at Aizawa horrified at what he heard. "He still looks the same.", Mirio pointed out.
"I really want to ask how he could do it!", Nejire said as she looks at Aizawa-sensei, eyes gleaming in curiosity. "I want to be able to stay up night and still keep up!", she whines.
"He's been sleeping in the afternoon", I informed them as I take a bite of the bread that I suddenly have on my hands.
'I caught him in his yellow bag yesterday sleeping while everyone is working hard...'
I sweatdropped as I recalled that memory. "He was definitely in deep sleep too...", I trailed off.
"Don't lose focus. All of you, move faster!"
The four of us sweatdropped as Aizawa continues to lecture his students. "Everyone looks so exhausted...", Tamaki noted as he observed the whole class, which I nodded.
"No matter what you're doing, you should remember where you came from. That's what it means to improve", Aizawa started, catching everyone's attention.
"Always keep in mind why you're sweating and why you keep getting nagged.", he ended.
"Oh, his speech worked", Nejire noted as she looked at Class 1-A, who looked much less tired and more motivated. "Guess we better do our part too", I said as I finish eating the bread.
"More importantly, everyone, tonight-", Pixie Bob announces, "- we'll have a test of courage with the class against each other!"
I frown as soon as I heard the announcement. Uneasiness began to fill me as I bit my lip as everyone started to chatter, talking all about it.
'Katsuki getting kidnapped and All Might retiring... man, everything is much more complicated when you're part of it'
"Man, I pity them"
Nejire started as the two of us stood on top of a high hill, observing the first years below.
"Class 1-B sure is amazing too", I mused as I glance around. "Is this how your first summer camp in Yuuei, Aka-chan?", Nejire asked as she looked at me curiously.
"The General Studies doesn't have them, huh?", I mused as I looked at her, which she nodded. "Much more... milder, I guess", I answered.
"Well... aside from a few high frequencies from Yamada-sensei", I added, sweatdropping as I recalled what happened.
Someone in the class decided to steal Yamada-sensei's earing aids and well... the kid definitely got something back in return.
The wonders of karma.
"Look at Mirio-kun", Nejire said as she pointed down. I squinted my eyes and sweatdropped. "He did it again!", Nejire laughs, "He punched a kid on the stomach!"
"He really needs to tone it down", I commented as I let out a smile. "Ne ne, look at Tamaki-kun", Nejire said as she pointed at him.
I laugh, "He decided to hide throughout the whole training huh", I said, amused at the scene.
"I think they're going to be great heroes, don't you think?", Nejire asked as she playfully bumps our shoulders. I chuckle as I playfully raised an eyebrow,
"Honestly~ I think the four of us are much better"
"Bakugo, you're really good at using the knife! It's unexpected..."
"What do you mean unexpected?! How can you be bad at using the knife?!"
"There he is. We haven't seen the capable version of him in a while"
I let out a chuckle as I approach them, "Katsu-kun is really good at cooking", I informed as I placed the bowl full of vegetables on the table.
"Really?!", Kaminari exclaimed in disbelief which I nodded, amused as he ignores Katsuki's glare. "The both of us cook dinner whenever we have the time", I explained.
I managed to convince the Big Three to help with the firsties today. I've been feeling uneasy and I want to be close to my two little brothers as much as possible.
Not to mention this is a great opportunity to embarrass Katsuki.
"He's so cute especially wearing the pink apron I got him~", I said as I gave a closed eye smile.
"SHUT UP GINGER!"
I snickered as Katsuki snapped at me, his face red in embarrassment as his classmates began to tease him.
"Pink Apron?! HAHAHA"
"I didn't know you're such a softie Bakugo!"
"I SAID SHUT UP LOSERS!"
I quietly escape before Katsuki notice and head towards Izuku, who is speaking with Todoroki.
"-I was just wondering what All Might would've said to him... What would you have said, Todoroki-kun?", I paused as I eavesdrop on their conversation, hiding behind the stone wall.
"-To have some stranger trying to reason with you would just be annoying, right?", he continues, "What's important is what actions he took or is taking."
"If the words are going to move someone by themselves, they have to be pretty powerful-"
'Like Naruto'
"-I think words have to be accompanied by action", he ended. I took a peek, hiding from their sights as they continue their conversation.
'They look so serious... How cute~'
"-I don't know what you want to do with him, but I don't think you should you should keep poking your nose in a delicate situation-"
'And that's my cue to cut in'
"That's some wise advice, Todoroki-kun", I said, catching their attention. "Aka-neesan?", he asked as he looked at me in surprise which I gave him a grin.
"I'm sorry for eavesdropping but your conversation is quite interesting", I said as I stood up and walk beside Izuku.
"Todoroki-kun does have a point there", I started as I crossed my arms and looked down at Izuku. "You definitely have no need to poke in the life of others."
Izuku looked down as he scratches his cheek sheepishly making me laugh, "But I think that's what makes you a hero, Izu-kun", I said making them looked at me in confusion.
"To have the will to help others, no matter how stubborn they are", I continue as I gave him a warm smile.
"That's a great quality for a hero to have, don't you think?"
"-the extra lessons group will be having a class with me now"
I sweatdropped as Aizawa-sensei dragged his five students with his scarf.
'He's so strict!'
"Class B will be the first to be the scarers! Class A will leave in pairs every three minutes. There are tags with your names written on them in the middle of the route so bring those back with you"
Pixie Bob instructed. "I want to join too!", Nejire said as she looked at the forest, eyes gleaming in excitement. "It's for first years, Nejire-chan", Mirio reminded.
"Those being the scarers aren't allowed to make direct contact. Show us how scary you are with your Quirks!"
"The class that makes the most people piss their pants with creativity and imagination wins!", Tiger exclaimed at the end.
"I-I don't want to join", Tamaki said as he trembles, hiding behind Mirio as he looked at the forest in fear. "There there, Tama-kun", I said as I pat his back in comfort.
"You can go back at the facility if you want to", I suggested. "Stop having the heart of a flea!", Nejire exclaims as she pokes Tamaki on the head furiously.
"I want to join too!"
I sweatdropped as Nejire continues to poke Tamaki as she pouts.
'A great way to release frustration, huh...'
"Now, you'll draw lots to determine your partners!"
"Me!"
I grab Nejire as soon as she heads towards Pixie Bob, "We're supervising them, Nejire-chan", I reminded her, "We're not supposed to join".
"It's okay if you want too!", I turn my head as Pixie Bob appeared nearby with a grin. "The four of you are still students of Yuuei after all!", she exclaims.
"Yehey!", Nejire cheered as she holds my hands, "Let's be partners, Aka-chan!", she said, eyes gleaming in excitement as I sweatdropped at her.
'She really wants to be part of it so bad'
"There's an extra person!"
I turn to see Izuku brooding at the side, suddenly realizing he doesn't have a partner.
"I shall be your partner, Izuku-kun!", Mirio exclaims as he grabs Izuku for a side hug. "No one should do this alone!", he ended with a bright smile.
"Th-Thank you so much, Mirio-senpai!", Izuku said as he looked at Mirio in relief.
"I-I will be waiting here", Tamaki informed us as he stood beside Mirio, "I-I don't really like this", he admitted as he fidgets uncomfortably.
"There, there Tama-kun", I said patting his back in sympathy, "Aka-chan and I will be Number 3!", Nejire exclaims as she holds out a paper with '3' written on it.
"We're after Angry Porcupine!", she added as she points at Katsuki, who glares at her.
"SWITCH WITH ME SMURFETTE!"
"EHH?! AKA-CHAN'S MINE ANGRY PORCUPINE!"
"The two of you went 'oh' HAHAHAHA"
Nejire laughs loudly as she recalls what happened earlier, Katsuki's glare on her intensify.
"Shut up!"
He snapped. Nejire ignores him as she continues to laugh, which I sweatdropped as Katsuki continues to yell at her.
The four of us ended up going inside as one team since Nejire and Katsuki kept on pulling mg arms, determined to have me as a partner.
In the end, Mandalay decided to make us an exception since Nejire and I wasn't supposed to join either.
I'm happy either way since this set up makes my job a lot easier.
I stopped abruptly as I saw some black smoke, I looked at my side alarmed as the purple fog began to surround us.
"Nejire!"
I called out making her stop abruptly and looked at me in surprise.
"Huh-?"
"Use your quirk!", I order, cutting her off, as I cover my nose. "It's poison gas!", I announced making their eyes widen. "Nejire!", I repeated in urgency, snapping her out from her thoughts.
"On it!"
"Damn it!"
Katsuki exclaims as the five of us, Todoroki is carrying one unconscious student on his back, continues to walk ahead.
We all walk closer to Nejire since she's using her quirk to create a dome around us, pushing away all the poison gas from getting closer.
"Is this gas a villain's doing?", Todoroki mused as he looked around. "Most likely", I answered as I glance around with a frown.
"I can't use my quirk since it's creating a fog", I said, a bit frustrated at our situation.
'Damn. If only Mirio and Tamaki are here..."
"We should avoid the finish line and get back to the camp", Todorki said, which I nodded. "Nejire-chan, how are you holding up?", I asked in concern.
"I-I'm fine, Aka-chan", she replied as she gritted her teeth as she focused on keeping up the dome. "The gas is strong", she added, sounding a bit breathless.
"We just have to find a way out of this-", I stopped as I saw a black figure in front, making the others stop as well.
'Fuck'
My eyes widen at the sight. "Oi, who was the one in front of us?", Katsuki asked, making me gulp as I recall who this is. "Tokoyami and... Shoji", Todoroki replied.
"So pretty... so pretty"
'So fucking creepy!'
"No, I have to work... I was captivated. Oh no... what beautiful flesh"
I narrow my eyes as I hover my hand on my utility belt when the villain began to stand. I began to sweat nervously as my heart began to beat faster, fear running in my veins.
"Oh, don't tempt me... I have a job to do..."
I gulped silently as the villain face us, trying- and failing- to calm.
"Don't fight?", Katsuki mused. I glance at him to see him trembling slightly. I take a deep breath as I walk forward, shielding them, and catching the villain's attention.
"Oi", I called out, mentally proud as I didn't stutter. I gave the villain the best glare I got, trying to ignore how much I'm trembling.
"If you have a job then so do I-", I lick my lips as I put my hand on one of my pouches to get a small blade inside,
"-and it's to protect these two, do you get that?"
"Is it me or is this villain's quirk a little... disturbing. Like the blades are from his teeth. Teeth. And he just casually stab people around, like what if the victim has STDs?! It's the Hero Killer all over again"
