The Tale of Momo
Momo's P.O.V
I was walking down the street minding my own business. While Midoriya and Uraraka were enjoying their day at the water park, Shoto was spending time with his mother who was released from the hospital. I could have sworn I heard some music being played. Using my ears, I decided to follow the sound.
I found myself at a pub where they were playing some music, and it sounded like jazz. I walked in to listen closely. There was a bassist, a saxophone player, and also a drummer. I noticed they didn't have a pianist. The bassist had on a nice hat and wore a suit for the occasion, and he seemed to be the leader of the group. They finished the song and I clapped my hands.
"Well well, nice to see a fan," said the bassist, "So what brings you by?" I looked up to them. "Well, I was walking around and I heard the music," I answered, "Figured I'd stop by and listen some more." "Well I appreciate the fact little miss," the bassist told me. I looked to the spot where the pianist is usually at. "Although I did notice you didn't have a pianist on board," I said pointing to the spot. "Well, he had a family engagement that he couldn't get himself out of," explained the saxophonist, "Nothing we could do for that."
I figured this could be my opportunity to have my piano skills pay off. I walked up to the stage and then thought of a keyboard in my mind. Using my energy I created a piano and placed it on the stage. The bass player was dumbfounded. "Creati just walked into our pub!" He said. I blushed a bit exposing myself. "Hey, you wanna play a few jams with us miss?" The drummer asked. "Sure," I answered, "Why not."
I had spent the next 30 minutes playing a few jazz tunes that I knew in my head. I was loving every minute of it and enjoying myself. One of the things I did was mix some of my classical piano knowledge with jazz piano. I had also learned to think like a saxophone player or a trumpet player during my piano solos. The bassist was amazed at my talent for the piano. Soon, our music was drawing in a bigger crowd than they had ever gotten, probably because of my piano playing.
We finished another tune and the crowd cheered. "Let's give a big hand for the session pianist, Momo Yaoyorozu!" The bassist said as the audience cheered for me. I stood up and took the microphone.
"And now, for this last tune, I'd like to dedicate to someone who had spent years teaching me piano," I said, "A piano teacher who had passed away recently. This was his favorite song." I walked up to the piano and started playing "Take The A-Train." Soon, the rest of the band begun to join in. People begun to clap their hands as this was their favorite song as well. It was time for my piano solo. I played the solo that my piano instructor played note for note.
Apart from my quirk, I was granted with perfect pitch, and could play something just after hearing it once. I guess all that time playing with Jirou made me realize how much I missed playing the piano.
After we finished up, I started to pack my belongings and head back to campus. Someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around to see the bassist smiling. He had a wad of cash. "For giving us such a kicking show," he said. I smiled and took it.
Before heading back to campus I went somewhere else. I was at a grave area where they buried my piano teacher. I took the piano out again and begun playing the chords to Take The A-Train while also singing the lyrics. "If only you could see me now," I said as I sadly smiled. I decided to head back to campus.
In loving Memory of my piano teacher, Richard Lopez (February 28 1949-July 21 2020. You will be missed.
