The Tale of Eri
Eri's P.O.V
My life ever since Papa and Mama took me in have been nothing but good days and more to come. They've taken care of me and made sure I was given all of the love and attention I need. But they didn't do it alone. Auntie Dolly (Momo) reads me a bedtime story almost every night, Uncle Iida helps me with some class assignments, and I even get lessons on controlling my quirk from Uncle Shima. I was at school with my friend Satsuki. There was a lecture about a specific "Howiday" that grabbed my interest.
After school Aunt Tsu took me to the main lobby where I saw Mama and Papa. "Mama, Papa!" I said as I rushed over to them with my little legs. Mama picked me up. "Did you have fun at school?" She asked. I nodded. "They had my favorite lunch today and that got me in a good mood," I said, "We also learned something new." Papa ruffled my hair. "What's that?" He asked curiously. "I heard students talking about a special 'howiday' called 'Halloweiner'," I answered. Mama giggled. "It's called Halloween sweetie," she said. "What's Halloween?" I asked.
This gave Uncle Iida the chance to talk. "Well, its a special holiday that dates back to the days of old," he said, "On October 31st people were made to believe that spirits would come out and haunt the living. So the living devised a plan to dress up as spirits and other creatures in order to fool the spirits and save their town from invasion…."
Uncle Shima bumped into him. "On a more 'non boring Secretary' term, its where you dress up in costumes and go door to door and say 'Trick or Treat'," he said, "And if you say it nicely, people will give you candy." That word made my mouth start to water. "Candy….." Mama and Papa giggled at me. "So what kind of costumes are there?" I asked. "Tons of them," Auntie Mina said, "There's animals, rockstars, celebrities, even superheroes." That gave Papa an idea. "How about we do this," he said, "A pro hero themed halloween with Class 1-A!" "What a great idea!" Mama said
I turned to them. "Can we go Mama?" I asked. "Of course," she said sweetly. Later I was looking through Papa's big book of heroes trying to think of a costume. There were so many cool ones and I couldn't pick which one I liked most! I thought about Papa and all he's done for me. It then hit me. I found out what I wanted to be for Halloween. I went to Auntie Dolly and showed her a picture of who I wanted to be for Halloween. "Well, I think I'll be able to handle that," she said. She thought of Papa's hero costume and made it. It had all the details including the pockets and everything! I gave Auntie Dolly a hug. "Thank you Auntie!" I said. She smiled and hugged me back. "You're quite welcome sweetie."
Later I went to show Mama and Papa the costume.
Ochako's P.O.V
I looked to my left and saw the most adorable thing ever! Eri was wearing what looked like a Deku Onesie. I rushed over to Eri picking her up smothering her with kisses. "Eri you look so cute!" She said. Eri giggled and said, "Thank you Mama." I showed off my costume. I was wearing a costume that was similar to '13. Deku came down and he showed off his costume. It was an All Might costume. "IS everything he owns All Might related?" Eri and I asked in Unison.
Later we were meeting up with the others at the park in our costumes. Everyone had on cool costume ideas such as Kirishima dressed up as Crimson Riot and Mina dressed as Red Riot. Bakugo was dressed up as Snipe, and Todoroki was dressed up as Eraserhead. We all started going to different houses. Eri went up to the door. "Do you remember what to say?" Deku asked. Eri nodded. "I think so."
She rung the doorbell. A man walked out. "Happy Kwanzaa," she said. The man was confused. "Don't you mean Trick or Treat?" He asked. Eri bowed and said, "Sorry sir." The man chuckled and put some candy in her bag. "Thank you," she said smiling. I giggled. "That was…. something." Izuku picked Eri up. "Ready for round 2?" He asked. Eri nodded her head. We headed to another house. It was decorated with toilet paper to give off the illusion of ghosts and pumpkins.
Eri went to the door and knocked on the door. An lady dressed up as Leia Organa walked out. "Happy Easter," she said. The lady was confused. "Um…. Don't you mean Trick or Treat sweetheart?" She asked. Eri realized her mistake and bowed. "Sorry miss," she said. The lady chuckled, "It's ok deary." She handed her some candy bars. "Thank you," she said as she walked down. As we continued walking we heard someone call for Eri. "Eri?" They asked. We turned to see Kota in a space ranger costume with Mandalay dressed as a cat.
"Looks like you found a friend," Mandalay said. I waved to her. "How are you?" I asked. "Doing well," she answered smiling, "How's the night going for you?" "Pretty good," Deku said, "We're taking Eri for her first trick or treat experience. She's having a lot of fun." Eri went to Kota. "I like your costume," she said, "Its really cool." "Thanks," he said. She couldn't tell, but Kota was blushing. "Hey, my bag is getting a little full, why not take some of mine." He poured some of his candy into Eri's bag. "Thanks Kota," she said as she smiled. Deku approached them. "Why don't you two approach the next house together?"
We went to a house that looked pretty plain. Eri rang the doorbell. "So what are the chances she'll get it right this time?" I asked Deku. "We'll see," he answered. Mandalay was curious. "What do you mean?" She asked. "You'll see," Deku and I said in unison. A old looking man with a rude look on his face walked to the door. "Trick or Treat/Merry Christmas!" Eri and Kota said. Mandalay cracked up laughing. "Oh my god!" She said between laughs, "That's a riot." The old man gave Kota candy but gave none to Eri. "Hey!" Kota said, "What about her?!" "She says it right, she gets candy," he said, "Otherwise, forget it." Deku was furious. Aura was glowing in his body. Kota walked up to the old man.
"Listen punk," he said, "This is Eri's first Halloween, you unless you want a kick in the nuts, you better fork it over!" "Or what?" The rude man asked, "Get lost before I make you!" Kota grinned. "You leave me no choice," Kota said, "nahccak fo eht krad erif" Deku was confused. Bakugo showed up glaring at the old man ready to show off explosives. "Pay up the candy. Now." He said. The rude man was scared for life. "On second thought… take all the candy!" He put the bag of candy out and slammed the door. "Nice one," Kota said as he high fived Bakugo. After a few minutes it started to get late. "I think its time for us to head back before curfew breaks," I said. Deku nodded. Eri went to Kota. "Kota, there's something I should give you," she said. "What is it?" Kota asked, "If you're wanting to give me some of the candy don't worry about it. I got enough to last m….." Kota didn't get to finish as Eri gave him a small peck on the cheek. "For standing up for me earlier," she said. Mandalay chuckled. "Looks like someone has a crush," she said. Kota blushed a dark red. "S-shut up!"
Deku carried her as we walked back home. "Did you enjoy your Halloween?" He asked. "Yes," she said, "It was so much fun." Deku smiled. "I'm glad." Eri turned to us. "Mama, Papa, I love you," she said. I kissed her horn. "We love you too Eri," I said. Eri soon fell asleep as we headed back to campus.
