Chapter 24
"Ready, set, fight!" Liana yelled quickly pulling her hand away and letting the guards practice fight one on one. "Hello." A voice said coming up behind. Liana.
"Oh hello." Liana said turning around. The voice came from a boy, he looked to be Lianas age maybe a year older. He was tall and dressed in a royal attire.
"Can I help you?" Liana asked smiling. "Uh yes I'm Prince Thomas of Zuhlburg." The boy said bowing.
"Nice to meet you." Liana said curtsying. "Let me take you inside to meet my parents." Liana smiled. "Thank you." Thomas said crossing his hands in front of him. "Guys lunch is early!" Liana yelled out to the guards.
Liana led Thomas inside to the throne room where Rapunzel was helping citizens. "Nigel, I'm going to take a break." Rapunzel whispered into Nigels ear seeing her daughter enter.
"The queen will return shortly!" Nigel announced escorting people to wait in the hall. "Hi mom." Liana said walking over to Rapunzel. "Hi sweetheart, who's your friend." Rapunzel said smiling at Thomas.
"This is Prince of Thomas of Zuhlburg." Liana said flipping her ponytail off her shoulder. "Zuhlburg." Rapunzel muttered under her breath. "Did you say something mom?" Liana asked looking at her mom confused.
"What no, welcome to Corona Thomas." Rapunzel said giving a quick smile. "What brings you to Corona?" Rapunzel asked taking a back exit out of the throne room.
"I'm looking for your husband actually." Thomas said admiring one of the royal paintings. "Oh, well I believe he's in his study Liana will take you." Rapunzel smiled.
"Mom I need to get back to training." Liana whispered. "He's a guest be nice." Rapunzel said nudging Liana forward. "Right this way." Liana said walking towards her fathers study.
"Dad someone is here to see you." Liana said opening the door to Eugenes study. "Oh come in." Eugene said sitting up in his chair.
Liana held the door open and gestured for Thomas to walk in. "You must be Thomas." Eugene said standing up to shake his hand. "I am." Thomas laughed. "Liana would you give us a minute just wait in the hall." Eugene said sitting back down.
Liana rolled her eyes and closed the door. After a few minutes Eugene opened the door and waved Liana in. "Li, meet your new training partner!" Eugene said standing behind Liana.
"What!" Liana exclaimed. "But dad I train the guards ALONE." Liana said through clenched teeth. "Listen he's training to be captain of the guards in Zuhlburg and his father knew about the training program here so he's going to help you and learn a thing or two." Eugene said trying to reassure her.
"I'm very excited to work with you m'lady." Thomas smiled reaching his hand out to shake hers. "It's Liana." Liana said angirly shaking his hand. "We start tomorrow don't be late." Liana said crossing her arms and storming out. "She seems nice." Thomas nervously chuckled.
"Can you believe him!" Liana exclaimed pacing back and forth in her room. "Is it really that bad?" Derick asked watching her. "It's worse than bad it's awful." Liana groaned throwing herself next to Derick on her bed.
"Hey it will be okay, you ten times better than all the guards you train, you will no doubt be way better than him." Derick said rubbing her back.
Liana brought her head and looked over at Derick. "How do you always know just what to say." Liana said giving a soft smile. "The powers of a boyfriend." Derick laughed kissing Lianas cheek.
The next morning Liana had woken up early to set up a rely race that the guards were doing that day. "Good morning your highness." Thomas said startling Liana. "It's Liana." Liana groaned shoving a pile of rope into Thomas's chest.
"Sorry, good morning Liana." Thomas said again following her as she walked around. "Do you want something?" Liana asked annoyed. "Just observing." Thomas said smiling.
Liana rolled her eyes and went on setting up. About an hour later guards started showing up. "Li!" Derick yelled running over. Liana turned around and smiled.
"Hey I know you always forget to eat breakfast on relay day, it's just some bread and butter but still." Derick said handing Liana the roll. "Hi I'm Thomas." Thomas said stepping in front of Liana. "Yeah I know I'm Derick." Derick said crossing his arms.
"Do you work in the castle?" Thomas asked condescendingly. "Yeah I work in the libary. Derick said pointing at the window.
"I like to watch the practices." Derick said looking back at Thomas. "Well you should go training is about to start." Thomas said gesturing for Derick to leave.
"Yeah ok." Derick said shrugging. "Are you leaving?" Liana asked running back over from helping some guards. "Yeah but I'll meet you for lunch." Derick smiled. "Ok, try and actually get some work done today." Liana teased.
"We'll see." Derick laughed. Liana kises him and waved as he left. "Does everyone in Corona kiss each other on the lips?" Thomas asked stretching.
"What no, he's my boyfriend." Liana said giving Thomas a disgusted look. "You're dating a castle servant." Thomas said suprised.
"Yeah, and I didn't ask for your opinion so keep it yourself." Liana said pushing his shoulder. "Ok boys line up!" Liana yelled running over. "Whoa." Thomas muttered under his breath. He watched as she commanded he had never seen such a good fighter and trainer that was a girl before, nonetheless a princess. He was jealous.
