I sure anyone reading is aware that the chapter, Mind Games, was bad. I feel really bad about that, so this chapter is meant to make up for it. Anyhow, Hope you enjoy!

Chapter 24: Mind Games (Reprise)

Once again, Rex woke up in his mind. Everything around him was still void. He had been here only earlier when he confronted that clone of himself. But why was he here now? From behind him, Rex heard footsteps. He turned around.

Walking toward him was Jin. Jin was wearing his signature leather jacket, and he was smoking a cigarette.

"What?" Rex said. "Jin? What are you doing here?"

Jin sighed. "Come on. You are literally about to die. In a few moments, Your blood will be on my hands."

Rex's eyes widened. "What! Is Nia ok?!"

Jin narrowed his eyes. "Seriously? You're about to die and all you can think about is Nia?"

"Well, yeah." Rex said.

"You don't even fear death?" Jin asked in awe.

Rex thought about that. "Well...I am scared, but not for myself. I'm scared of what could happen to Nia."

"If you really care about Nia, there is a way to get back to her," Jin said.

Rex's eyes widened. "Really?"

Jin nodded. "All you have to do is overcome me. After all, in a few moments, I will have torn you away from Nia. And if you can't beat me, who says you deserve to be with her?"

Suddenly, Rex grabbed the sides of his head. It hurt like hell! "W-what the hell?!" Rex said. "What's going on?"

Jin looked at him with mock worry. "What's wrong, Rex? Could it be something I said? Perhaps: You don't deserve her?"

Rex screamed in pain. His head hurt even more now! "What are you doing?" Rex asked.

Jin grinned evilly. "Don't worry. it's just that you don't deserve her!"

Rex screamed again and fell on all fours. Why was he hurting so much? Was it what Jin was saying? That Rex didn't deserve Nia?

Jin danced in a circle and chanted, "You don't deserve her! You don't deserve her!"

Then out of the blue, Rex's chest had opened up, and his intestines spilled out on the ground. Rex screamed, and immediately began to try to scoop them back into his body. It was all in vain. They were all so slimy and slippery, and suddenly, Rex's heart was in his hands. He could feel it slowly stopping to beat. Finally, Rex gave up and fell to his side, curling up into a ball.

"S-stop! Please!" Rex said frantically, but Jin continued his dancing and chanting.

"STOP IT!" Rex screamed. His words seemed to bounce around the void that they were standing in, and suddenly, Rex's head wasn't hurting anymore.

Rex slowly sat up and looked at Jin. Jin was staring at him in awe, his mouth open in surprise. Jin's cigarette dangled from his lip, then dropped to the ground.

"Holy shit," Jin said. "You must really love her."

Rex glared at him. "Damn right I do. And I can tell that we aren't done here yet, are we?"

Jin chuckled. "No, we aren't. You still have to fight me."

"Huh?" Rex said. "What do you mean?"

"I think I've made myself perfectly clear." Jin said, and suddenly, he was holding a long katana in his hands. "Come at me!" He said, rushing forward.

Rex then noticed that he was holding a huge ruby-red sword that took him two hands to carry. Just in time, Rex was able to block Jin's blow.

"Why are you fighting me?" Jin abruptly shouted, catching Rex by surprise.

"So I can get back to Nia!" Rex shouted back, blocking another one of Jin's attacks.

"Why do you want to get back to Nia?" Jin shouted, attacking once again, but was blocked by Rex.

"BECAUSE I LOVE HER!" Rex shouted. Feeling a rush of determination, Rex stepped forward, Swung his sword, knocking Jin's katana out of his hand, and thrust his sword right through Jin's heart.

To Rex's surprise, Jin didn't show any pain or death. Instead, he smiled. A nice, friendly, warm smile. Something Rex never thought he would see. "Go, Rex." Jin said. "Go and give Nia the boy she deserves." And with that, everything faded away.

Hey, that was pretty good, was it not? I thought, for one, that it was much better than the first "Mind Games" chapter. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed that! Also, the "Rex's guts falling out", as some of you might know, is a reference to the anime film, AKIRA. It's one of my favorite movies, and I juts had to add that!
