Midoriya could only watch as Kagome charged down into the pit of enemies.
Recovery Girl had healed her injury but would she be alright fighting down there? Aizawa's quirk was best for stealth operations and Kagome clearly had her own weaknesses that she was sorting through. Her offensive power was strong but it wouldn't last long.
They would be in danger.
A sickening feeling twisted in his stomach.
He had to help them, but with his body as weak as it was, he'd break himself after just a single punch. What could he do to help right now? What could he do to save them?
"Midoriya, let's go!" Iida rounded on him fiercely. "We have to get out of here. We can leave the villains to the professionals."
No, this wasn't right.
Even though logically he knew it'd be best to leave with the rest of the group, another part of him wanted to stay.
He wanted to fight.
He couldn't just run away. Not when Aizawa and Kagome were putting their lives at risk for them. For all of them, really.
"They'll need backup." He spoke the words to himself more than anything else.
Kagome's offensive ability had gotten much stronger in the three weeks since they shifted their training regiments around.
She could hold her own against Aizawa for short periods of time, however once her stamina ran out, that was it.
This battle would be contigent upon her ability to nullify their enemies movements before they became a serious threat.
"Seal!" Kagome cried out. She planted her palms firmly against the ground. Waves of coral-colored shards shot out from the floor. It encompassed the entire stairway and the platform before them in a thin sheet of its glassy surface.
As the shards came close to the villains, they rose up and swallowed the feet of the people stuck standing at the center.
So that was it. She was planning on stopping them before they ever reached the stairway.
"Midoriya, do as they say!" Kagome kept her attention focused on the fight as she spoke to him. "I can hold them off for a little while. You guys just get out of here and warn the teachers." Her brows furrowed sharply, "I think these guys took advantage of the chaos earlier and slipped in. Plus one of them seems to have some sort of warping quirk. We're in big trouble if that guy decides to warp his ass to the exit and hold off your escape. So get moving!"
He clenched his teeth.
His fingers curled into a tight fist as he turned on the ball of his heel.
"We'll be back as quickly as we can. Just hold on until then!" His words would mean little at this point, but it was the only reassurance he could give her.
For her sake as well as theirs, he'd do as she'd asked.
His gaze focused on the exit behind them.
They needed All Might.
