A/N: I'm actually really happy with how this chapter turned out! I never say that, so hopefully it lives up to your expectations. It's got some justice, and some cute fluff between Emily and JJ and Emily and Spencer. Please read and review!

Disclaimer: I don't own Criminal Minds or Fireflies by Owl City. It's a great song by the way, I recommend listening to it while reading this chapter.

"Mr. and Mrs. Kelcher, please take a seat." Rossi gestured to the 2 seats across from his desk.

"Mr. Rossi, what is this about?"

"Well, we must discuss disciplinary measures for Chloe and Jake. They, as well as some other students, have seriously injured 2 other students, Elle Greenaway and Emily Prentiss. The twins have committed a tier 3 offense, and that results in expulsion. I'm here to discuss with you who I will be transferring their papers to."

"They're being expelled because of those 2… troublemakers?"

"They're being expelled for assault, ma'am."

"That's not assault. Whatever my kids did to them, I bet they were asking for it."

"They were walking home together with Emily's 6 year old foster sister. What part of that says that they were asking for it?"

"Well, they associate with that Callahan girl, and she's open about being one of those… you know. And Jake says that those 2 are part of it too. That's asking for it all on it's own."

"Part of what, Ms. Kelcher?" She looked around before lowering her voice, as if what she was about to say was a crime.

"You know, the homos." Rossi tried to remain civil at her response, but they were making it awfully difficult.

"Ma'am, I am not here to argue with you about equality, I'm here to find out where you will be sending your children, seeing as they are no longer welcome here. You have until Monday to let me know, because they will not be stepping foot inside this school or within 100 feet of Elle and Emily again."

"Fine. We don't want our children being taught that it's ok to be like that anyways. It's toxic. We'll be taking Abby, Jake, and Chloe somewhere where our beliefs are accepted."

"Thank you. That'll be all." They both stood up in a huff, slamming the door behind them. Gideon and Carolyn walked in.

"Well that went well."

"Now just do it 6 more times."

After dropping Elle back at her home, Emily walked- well, crutched- into the foyer of the house. Exhausted, she fought the urge to just collapse and sleep on the couch. Her clothes were soaked- a huge thunderstorm had picked up on their way home.

"Hey Emily!" Spencer popped up from under a table in the living room.

"Hey Spencer! Why are you under a table?" She asked as she collapsed on the couch, pushing her tiredness away for the time being.

"The storm's scaring me," he replied with his head down. He was obviously embarrassed about his fear of storms, but it didn't overwhelm the fear as he scampered into Emily's lap when another bout of thunder hit.

"Aw, that's alright kiddo. You know, if you look past the loud noise and the darkness, the lightning is stunning. Have you ever looked at it? I've always found it one of the most beautiful things," she said, almost wistfully. Spencer shook his head no. He'd never been able to get past the fact that storms meant loud noises and darkness, and Spencer Reid did not like the dark. Emily smiled slightly at his apprehensiveness. She held him closely and leaned towards the widow, pulling back the navy drapes.

"Alright, now just watch the sky," she instructed him, tightening her embrace when he jumped at another boom. "See that? You see, storms aren't so bad."

"Did you know that lightning is actually a 4th stage of matter? Traditionally, schools only teach 3 stages of matter, solid, liquids, and gas. But lightning is actually none of those, it's a 4th stage called plasma. Also, did you know that lightning strikes are also 8 times as hot at the sun? There's so much energy being transferred that the particles are super-heated to an incredibly high temperature." Emily smiled at his enthusiasm. He loved his facts.

"That is fascinating, future Dr. Reid. However, it is getting late, and if I remember correctly, 6 year olds are supposed to get 7-8 hours of sleep."

"It's actually 9-10 hours on average," he corrected.

"Pardon my memory, Genius. Mine's not eidetic," she joked. "You should go get ready to go to sleep, ok?" He nodded and hopped off her lap, running off towards his and Derek's room. She sat for a few more minutes, just watching the lightning. It calmed her, watching the bright flashes of light in the dark night sky.

"You know, you should go to sleep too," a voice from behind her pulled her out of her reverie.

"Hey Morgan," she replied, rubbing her eyes.

"Hey Princess. JJ's been fighting to stay awake so she could say goodnight to you, you know. Best not to keep her waiting."

"Thanks Derek," she said sleepily. The events of the day were catching up to her. She grabbed her crutches and trudged up the stairs. He watched her from the bottom to make sure she made it all the way up. He left and went to his own room with Spencer.

Cracking the door open to see inside, she saw the soft glow of JJ's bedside lamp flow into the hallway. Creeping inside, she saw JJ sitting on her bed, on top of the covers, with her back leaning against the wall. She was fast asleep with a teddy bear held tightly in her arms. Emily smiled at the sight. She pulled back JJ's covers and tucked the 6 year old in.

"Em'ly…" she murmured.

"Shhh, I'm right here squirt." JJ rubbed her eyes furiously trying to wake herself up. Getting a better look at Emily, she threw her arms around the older girl.

"Em'ly! You're ok!" She squealed. Emily chuckled at her excitement.

"I'm ok Butterfly, I'm ok. I wouldn't be if it wasn't for you. You saved Elle and me."

"I did?" She asked in awe. "Really?"

"Really, Jayje," JJ smiled at her big sister.

"Can you sing?" She asked hopefully, looking up at Emily.

"Yeah papillon, I'll sing for you." She got up and closed the door. She only wanted JJ to hear her sing, no one else.

"You would not believe your eyes,

If ten million fireflies

Lit up the world as you fell asleep.

"'Cause they fill the open air

Leave teardrops everywhere

You'd think me rude but I would just sit and stare.

"I'd like to make myself believe that Planet Earth turns slowly

It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep

'Cause everything is never as it seems

"To ten million fireflies

I'm weird 'cause I hate goodbyes

I got misty eyes as they said farewell

"I'd like to make myself believe that Planet Earth turns slowly

It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep

'Cause everything is never as it seems

"I'd like to make myself believe that Planet Earth turns slowly

It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep

'Cause everything is never as it seems.

"I'd like to make myself believe that Planet Earth turns slowly

It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep

"Cause my dreams are bursting at the seams," JJ was fast asleep by the time Emily finished the song. She kissed her forehead lightly as she quietly flipped off her lamp.

"J'taime Papillon," she whispered as she crawled into her own bed.

She closed her eyes, and dreamed of fireflies.
