Dabi ended up in Tartarus, where he belonged. Finally, the monster was at long last put away. By his own father and a civilian.

Dabi's reign of terror is at long last at its end. Who knows what Endeavor will do with him? If he'll try to visit or if he'll just let him rot. But he's not getting out of Tartarus, he's done.

Shoto, as it turned out, had been the one to go get Endeavor. When I saw him after the fight, I could hardly let him go. I thought Dabi had done something horrible to him, but he was just a little roughed up. Shoto would be fine.

Maybe Dabi didn't want to hurt his brother as bad as he claimed?

What I was so happy of though, Shoto told me he knew I could do it. That he had no worries I'd be capable of holding off against Dabi until Endeavor showed up. He even smiled at me, a big proud grin that made me tear up.

It was simply good timing that Endeavor showed up when we were soaring off into the sky. Apparently, I must have drained a lot of Dabi's energy. The fight against Endeavor didn't last long.

Taiki was alive. His skin where the metal touched was burned horrendously, but after many procedures he was going to be fine. Apparently, he had heatstroke as well. From how Dabi was trying to cook him alive in his own suit.

Taiki was amazed to see me still walking, and not gravely injured. But he was so proud of me for holding my own against Dabi and for getting him somewhere safe.

Taiki will get to go home to his kids. They won't be losing another parent, not anytime soon. Especially not if Hawks has anything to say about it.

I had a decent amount of burns. Mostly on my back from when Dabi was stamping me into the ground. But burns heal, and scars fade. Plus, the hospital had some of their best quirk healers come in to take care of those injured in the fight. Fortunately, there weren't too many of us.

Keigo was burned as well, a bit more than I was. But for the most part, he was okay. I don't think he even realized he was injured after he saved my life. I think he was too focused on what had just happened.

I think he was more surprised than I was about how well I held off against Dabi. I'll swat him later if I find that to be true. He should have known I'd be alright.

His wings were small, barely any feathers left. A lot were incinerated, but I'm so glad he had enough left to catch me from my fall.

I'm so happy he's still breathing after our fight with the man that last time beat him.

But even with barely any of his feathers left, and small wings, duty always calls. Hence him having been at the commission for hours now. And hours yesterday as well.

It's been two days. I would have hoped they'd have let him rest and recuperate at peace in our apartment.

Our…

I want to tell him. I want to take him up on his offer. I already talked with Kyo about it yesterday. If he still wants it, this can be our home.

"So, you're leaving me for the bird, huh?" Kyo asked, catching Airi off guard as she hadn't thought he'd guess so easily.

"How did you- "

"I'm your best friend, plus…" When Kyo turned to face her, she saw his eyes.

"Cheater!"

"Hey, all joking aside, I'm fine with it. I'm still going to see you every day, we'll just be going home to different houses at the end of the day." Kyo said with a shrug, smiling his signature smile her way.

"Are you really okay with it? We planned to live together for a long time." Airi reminded him of their original plans. Of how they were going to have the shop until they're old or find out they want to make a family of their own and need more space.

"Yeah, plans change. He has that huge penthouse; you'll have more space if you two decide in the future to have kids." Kyo shrugged as Airi shrieked at his boldness, flinging a book across the shop at him.

Kyo dodged it with a laugh though. "We're still too new to be thinking of that!"

"Says the one who got manipulated by a villain because she decided to not use a condom with her boyfriend one night! You and I are going to have a long talk about how birth control and preventatives work- "

Airi flung another book at him.

It was agreed though. Kyo is fine with me living here with Keigo. He even plans to come visit with us a lot, which I know Keigo won't mind because he genuinely looks so much happier when there's more people in his apartment.

It's so big and empty, I can't blame him.

Kyo also told me my room would still be there for me at our flat, which I couldn't help crying all over him after because it became so much more real. I'm happy with Keigo, I want this. But I feel so bad about leaving Kyo alone in our flat.

Even though he jokingly said he'll ask Rumi if she wants to live with him.

I checked my phone once again to see if Keigo was coming home yet, it's been too long. Why can't the commission give him a break?

Keys jingling in the lock of the front door told me more than my phone though, jumping up to meet him at the door.

Keigo's too fast though, he knew I was coming and had me in his arms the moment he was through the doorway. "Hi." Keigo greeted me with his nose nuzzling the spot where my jaw and neck meet, chuckling as he gave me a kiss.

"Hi, pretty bird." I greeted him back, wrapping my arms around his back and being careful of the burns he still had healing.

"I'm home for the night, want some food?" Keigo asked, and I probably wouldn't have noticed if he hadn't asked. Dropped by the door was a bunch of bags, likely take-out from some of his favorite places.

"Sure, here I'll get the plates." I offered, pulling free from him to grab the bags and bring them to the kitchen.

"No, I didn't ask if you'd do that. I can do it." Keigo tried to argue against me, but I ducked under his arm and ran for the kitchen. His playful growl was the only heads up I had that he was following right behind me.

I put the bags on the counter before reaching up for the cupboard to pull out a plate for each of us, nearly dropping them when Keigo lifted my shirt on my back.

"How're the burns today?" Keigo asked softly, his touch gentle as he checked over my battle wounds.

I know he's feeling guilty, I feel guilty as well about his own injuries received from Dabi. But we're both still here. We're both alive and healthy and we're going to have plenty of time to get over what happened that day.

"They're fine, Kei. How're yours?" I asked, turning around to hand him a plate.

Instead of answering me, he leaned forward and kissed me. Taking the plates from my hands, he put them on the counter and caged me in with his arms as I kissed him back, his wings cocooning us in.

"I'm so happy that you're still here to come back home to every day." Keigo whispered once our kiss ended, pressing his forehead to mine.

"I'm not going anywhere, Keigo. You've got me for as long as you want me." I whispered back to him, reaching up to stroke some of his wild hair out of his face.

"If that's the case, I'm never letting you go." Keigo mused, smirking at me before he took the plates from the counter. "Come on, let's eat while it's still hot."

I playfully rolled my eyes at him before following suit.

We ended up on the couch in the living room, eating while I watched the news on the TV and Keigo checked his messages from his agency on his phone. Quietly enjoying each other's presence.

"In latest sidekick news, the up and comer from the Hawks agency, Phoenix, appears to no longer be working with the agency." I nearly spat out my noodles as the TV announced that, looking up from my plate to the TV.

"Yes, it would seem she's been fired. The reason is still unknown, but there has been much speculation it is because of her unprofessionalism." I turned to Keigo, to see he wasn't even paying attention to the TV. He was just eating his food silently while scrolling on his phone. In his own little world.

"Keigo?"

"Hmm?"

"The news?"

That got his attention, looking up at last to see what the news had just revealed to me.

"Oh, you didn't know I fired her?" Keigo asked me, and at my narrowing of my eyes he snorted before continuing to stuff his face.

"Don't do that, explain yourself!" I whipped one of the throw pillows at him, which only made him snicker around his mouthful of food.

"She's a whore, what do you want me to explain?" I narrowed my eyes at him when he just smirked proudly at his words. "She was purposefully making my girlfriend upset, couldn't take a hint that I wasn't interested in her. So, I fired her for lack of professionalism." Keigo explained further with a shrug before going back to eating.

He… he fired Phoenix because of me? Because of how she was treating me? For how she was trying to get with Hawks when he's got a faithful girlfriend at home?

"Only thing I'm gonna miss about her is how she made you jealous enough to blow me under my desk."

That resulted in me flinging some of my noodles at his face.

After cleaning up the mess of food on the couch and putting away our plates, I sat back down with him on the couch. He stretched a wing towards me expectantly, so I scooted over into his side.

Once his arm was around me, I settled in with him.

"You should know you never have to worry about me wanting another woman. You're the only lovebird in my world." Keigo admitted after he turned on a movie for us to watch together, getting comfortable next to me.

"I know you wouldn't cheat on me. Or leave me for someone else. When she was doing that I just… I don't know. It's stupid, there was no reason to act the way I did." I explained myself, Keigo softly smiling the whole time next to me.

"It was flattering though. How hard you were trying. You don't need to by any means, but it was such a turn on to see how hard my girlfriend is willing to try for me." Keigo admitted with a wistful smile, and I narrowed my eyes playfully at him.

"Yeah, I totally didn't fight a villain for you. That totally wasn't harder than the entire year up until then." I said sarcastically, Keigo chuckling before squeezing my body closer to his with his arm.

"Yeah, please don't do that again either. Thought my heart was going to leap out of my chest when I saw you start falling and couldn't fly up to catch you." Keigo admitted, his wing wrapped around my shoulder shuddering to show just how much that sight affected him. How the image still affects him.

"I'm sorry. I'm glad it was you that caught me though." I admitted as well, his wing puffing up proudly around me and making me chuckle at him.

"I'm always gonna be here to catch you if you fall, my love." My heart warmed at his words, leaning up to kiss him on the stubble of his chin before I laid my head on his shoulder once more.

"He's finally put away." I muttered, it's still hard to come to terms with the fact that we're now safe. Well, safer. Dabi isn't out there watching anymore, he isn't plotting on Keigo's demise.

He's incarcerated for likely the rest of his life.

"Yeah, we're free to do whatever we want now. The commission was a little pissed to find out we were actually dating, but Taiki stepped up with me and told them off for getting mad about us." Keigo revealed, and I couldn't help smiling against his shoulder.

Taiki was a part of our family, of course he would protect us.

"I still feel bad I never knew he had three kids." Keigo admitted, running his free hand through his hair.

"He never told you, it's not just your fault, Kei. He's just a very business first guy." I reminded him, not wanting him to feel guilty now that the mutual dislike between them was finally gone after all their time working together.

Keigo finally sees Taiki for who he really is. A man just trying to do his job and get home to his kids at the end of the day. A friend who won't hesitate to step in and protect her and him. They're on new footing together.

"Wonder if we could hide three kids from him." Keigo mused cheekily, and I didn't hesitate to swat him in the stomach for what he was teasing about.

"He got you too with that chicklets comment, don't even!" I chastised him, but all he did was laugh.

"Not gonna lie though, it made me fight harder. So, it backfired on him." Keigo said as he turned his soft golden gaze on me, both of us ignoring the movie on the TV.

"Aw, are you admitting you want kids with me?" I teased, poking him in the abdomen and making him flinch with a tickle.

"Maybe one day. You gotta be living with me first." Keigo shrugged before propping his feet up on the coffee table.

His comment brought my teasing to an end, remembering what I wanted to tell him. The next step in our relationship I wanted to take for him.

"Speaking of that." I began, earning his gaze once more as he had just turned to the movie. "The moving in offer from the night before you went on your mission?"

"Yeah?"

I could practically feel his feathers buzzing excitedly behind my shoulder, he must know where I'm going already. Intuitive bird.

"If the offer- "

Keigo didn't let me finish, he tackled me against the couch.

"You're serious? You want to?" Keigo asked, hovering over me with the biggest, most excited grin I've ever seen him have. I couldn't help laughing over how excited he was, we already practically lived together.

"Yes, Keigo. Of course." I agreed, before he swiftly pulled me up to a sitting position in front of him and kissed me.

"Oh, you have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that." Keigo admitted, hugging me tight as I laughed at how eager he is for it to be official. That we officially will be living together under one roof instead of the possibility of switching between his place and mine.

"You're such a goofball." I teased as he coddled me close, reminiscent of his ruts when all he wants is to cuddle.

"Wait, what about Kyo? Does he know?" Keigo asked, pulling away from the hug just enough to look down at me.

"I talked about it with him yesterday." I admitted, Keigo's massive grin contagious and making me smile just as big at him.

"I love you, Airi." Keigo cooed before leaning down and kissing me again. "I'm so happy you said yes, we can start turning our apartment into a home now." Keigo said excitedly as I hugged him back just as tight.

"I already make your apartment a home, who does all the decorating and cleaning and- "Keigo had no problems silencing my teasing about all the stuff I already do, and I had no problem letting him either.

Some people might think it's too soon, but I don't think so. We've known one another a year in a few months now. But besides…

I love him and he loves me. So, if he wants to move at his trademark top speed, I'm more than happy to go that speed with him.

"Okay, come here." I squealed as I was suddenly lifted off the couch, Keigo tossing me over his shoulder with ease.

"Hey! Put me down!" I shouted, struggling to try to get free from his arm.

"Nope!" Keigo punctuated his answer by smacking me on the ass, which earned me swatting one of his wings. "To our bedroom with you! I'm getting you in a nice bath and I'm gonna show you just what you can look forward to now that you're living with the Number Two! Starting with a nice massage after your bath!" Keigo announced as he walked for our bedroom.

Our… The bloom of warmth in my chest felt nice at acknowledging that this is our bedroom now. Our home.

"Shouldn't you be striving to be number one in my life?" I asked in response, propping my chin on one of his wings.

SMACK. I smacked him on a wing in response to smacking my ass again, struggling harder to get free from him.

"If I'm not already number one in your life, we're gonna have a problem, dove." Keigo said before tossing me into the air above his bed.

When I landed, I watched him puff his wings out cockily before literally prancing towards the bathroom. "You goofball!" I called after him as he laughed loudly as he went.

"Love you too, Dovie!"

I laughed softly after him, falling back on our bed with a giddy smile.

How did I get so lucky?

I screamed when a flourish of feathers came for me, dragging me up into the air and into the bathroom after him.

"Now, undress before I toss you in clothes still on!" Keigo announced, kneeling on the edge of the tub as he ran the water and ignored me held in the air with his feathers.

"You wouldn't dare!" I squeaked, Keigo immediately standing and turning to me with a devious smirk.

"I could cut the clothes from you with my feathers. Would you rather that? I have no problem doing everything at my trademark top speed." Keigo reminded her, stepping closer to hold her chin between his fingers.

"I dare you." I challenged him back, calling his bluff.

Keigo's devious grin grew before leaning in and kissing me.

I'm more than happy to go at his top speed, so long as I'm with him. If I could handle a monster like Dabi, I can easily handle a pervy bird like Keigo.

Dabi laid still as he was rolled through the pristine hallways, face blank and unfeeling. His arms and legs were strapped to the side of the gurney he was lain on, a quirk suppressant collar across his neck holding his head in place.

One day, one day he's going to get out of here.

But if it's Endeavor that's in the waiting room for him right now, that's the reason he's being moved around like cattle, it's going to be a lot sooner. He'd rather have the death penalty than see him again.

Dabi quirked an eyebrow when he was wheeled into the visitation room, realizing it wasn't his sad excuse for a father on the other side of the glass.

The guards stopped moving him once he was in front of the glass, walking away as he stared back at his visitor expectantly.

Her lips quirked into a smirk before she sat up straight.

"Why is there a Phoenix visiting me today?" Dabi asked, watching her stand and walk closer to the glass.

"So, you're the one that almost did it? That almost ended the Hawk and the Dove?" Phoenix asked, sizing him up as Dabi sighed angrily. He'd rather be sitting in his room than be stuck with some fangirl of his enemies.

"If this is the only reason you're here, then you can fuck off."

"Oh, hey, chill out. I'm just taking in who almost did it. I'm fairly sure you could have if it weren't for her." Dabi glared angrily at her as she spoke. Her voice was grating, he'd rather take the needle than this.

"Your voice annoys me." Dabi voiced his disdain for her willingly.

"And the fact that you're locked up in here annoys me." Phoenix responded with, smirking his way as her hair lit fire, leaning an arm on the glass between them.

"And why is that?" Dabi asked, watching as she tapped a manicured nail on the glass.

"Because you'd be so much more valuable to me if you had done your job and ended her." Dabi quirked an eyebrow, a small smirk beginning to spread on his blistered lips.

"Why? Because you wanted that corrupt bird for yourself?" Dabi asked, watching the way her fire flickered angrily across her head.

"Because she's not as valuable as you originally thought. If it hadn't been for her, you wouldn't be here." Phoenix reminded him of what he already knew, his smirk falling to a scowl.

Yes, Dabi knew it would have been better just to kill her. Her death would have been the bird's undoing. His mission would have gone as planned, with or without her alive.

Dabi would have enjoyed burning her alive in front of Hawks. Enjoyed his screams of anguish over losing the thing he treasured most in the world.

Would have happily taken his sentence here if he had already scorched every trace of Keigo Takami off the face of the earth.

"In fact, if you were to, say, have valuable connects to gather information on- "

"What do you want?" Dabi asked, done playing games with this embittered sidekick. It's obvious she's here because she's angry she couldn't screw the number two herself. Angry that he's with a civilian over her.

"So glad you asked!" Phoenix clapped her hands together with a massive grin that looked befitting a hyena. "I want your intel. I want to know how you were spying on them, I want your help." Phoenix revealed, leaning closer to the glass with a smile that to others would probably make them believe her a cute innocent girl.

But he's seen that look before.

"And why would you ever believe that I'd help the sidekick of the hero I hate most?" Dabi asked, curios now as to what she'd be getting out of this. Surely, she didn't think he'd want to see Hawks alive, even if it's with her.

"See, that's the thing, I'm not anymore." Phoenix revealed, and Dabi grinned wickedly as he realized what happened.

"So, he fired you and you're wanting to get revenge by ending his girl?" Dabi surmised, laughing at her turmoil.

"I didn't say that at all." Phoenix replied to him coolly, but her eyes were burning almost as strongly as her hair did. "I just want to know how you did it. Maybe I could put in a good word for- "

"As if the word of a lowly sidekick is going to do me any good." Dabi interrupted her immediately, uninterested in whatever plot she had. A lowly sidekick like her couldn't possibly have a solid plan. But him? He's got a good one.

Phoenix glared at him through the glass for his comment, stepping back and sitting back down in her chair. "Then what's it going to take to get you to give me what I want?" Phoenix asked, folding her arms over her chest.

Dabi grinned wickedly at her through the glass.

"If I were to still have my ways of gathering intel on your favorite hero and least favorite civilian, it's going to take a lot to get me to reveal what you want to know." Dabi admitted, finally feeling like he had some power again.

Maybe this Phoenix can be of actual value to him.

"Whatever it takes." Phoenix said the magic words, flashing him a smile so devious that he almost felt hopeful for the first time since he's arrived in this dreadful prison.

Hmm… maybe the game isn't over just yet. Maybe he still has another chance at his mission. Guess the Hawk and his Dove are going to find out.

Dabi laughed before motioning for his new way out to come closer to the glass.

Don't count me out just yet, heroes. I'm still coming for you, Keigo and Airi.

You didn't think this was the end of their story, did you? No, it's the end of this arc, their story still has more to come. And Dabi isn't finished with them yet, neither is Phoenix now that she's switched to the dark side. Life doesn't end this soon, so neither should Keigo and Airi's story.

But in this actual document, yeah this is finito. I've already started on the next installment. But that's it! That's the end of Damsel Turned Dove!

I would feel bittersweet about it, sad that it's over. If not for the fact that I started writing the sequel yesterday. Plus the bonus chapters and such. I'll be posting those in a separate story, I'll link everything together to make it easier to find the sequel and One-Shots book that the bonus chapters will be posted into.

Thank you all so much! Thank you for sticking around for the entirety of Damsel Turned Dove! Thanks for all the favorites, reviews, everything that you've done! You have no idea how happy it's all made me to know how many people are reading this and enjoying it!

The One-shot book will probably go out first, and then the sequel after that. I've already finished the first chapter of that, so if I don't post it tomorrow, it'll probably drop the next day. I'll figure it out, I still need a name for the next installment and I'm horrible at naming my work.

Thank you again, and I'll see you in the next installment to Damsel Turned Dove!
