The Geist Within

Chapter 35: Trials of the Timeskip Part 1

"So, you're leaving for a training trip?" Tsunade said as she and Naruto talked in the Hokage Office.

"I do have to deal with the Akatsuki. They're after me and my fellow containers." Naruto remarked. "So, I'll need to take a leave for some time and so will Fu. We'll be traveling around the continent training with our fellow containers."

Tsunade gave the approval as he nodded before leaving her. She looked to the pile of paperwork with a tried look. She swore most of that paperwork was from Hiruzen who delighted in being free of paperwork.

"Curse that old monkey summoner! I bet other Kage don't have to deal with this shit!" Tsunade snarled.

Every other kage suddenly had the surge to punch the Hokage…really hard. Naruto headed home to prepare to pack for the journey. His harem all made their plans for who they wanted to train under. Kin and Hinata opted to train under both Kurenai and Anko, both to better their genjutsu among other things. Tenten and Ino went under Tsunade. For Tenten, it was to better her physical conditioning whereas Ino wanted to learn medical ninjutsu.

"Fu? You're not coming." Naruto asked.

"Precaution. Chomei suggested that the two of us traveling at the same time may attract unwanted attention. Taki's still pissed at losing me." Fu remarked. "So, I'm training off-world. Samantha offered to take me someplace that I train. I'll be back with her team by the time you're back."

"Fine, then. I'll take Temari with me. May as well let her see her." Naruto said getting on his new clothes.

A black sweatshirt with orange lining under his Jonin flak jacket, dark orange pants, a red armband with an Uzumaki crest on his left arm, black ninja sandals, his black clothed hitai-ite that was a bit longer, arm guards, shin guards, a black overcoat with a red spiral on the back, and his Kitsune mask (which he stuffed in his bag). Getting his weapons, ninja gear, and bag in tow, he went down to the living room.

"Temari, I'm heading out on a bit of a training trip. I'll have to past through Suna, so I wanted to ask if you wanted to come." Naruto said coming up. "I'll be seeing Gaara first, and I'm taking the Sky Fox."

"Give me a few minutes to pack. I'll meet you at the gate." Temari said getting up.

Naruto headed over to get to Hinoto to give some officers just to keep an eye on things and especially keep an eye on Asana and Mebuki that they do not try anything stupid. The Butterflies were also tasked to watch them. It was rather sad that he could trust the newcomer servants over his fellow villagers. Naruto had readied the Sky Fox while giving Merch a call for a status update.

"You'd think that little shit would have heeded word not to mess with you, Merch. Either way, you really think Rebecca's dead and gone?" Naruto asked.

"Honestly, I'm unsure. Her bodyjumping was going to catch up. One or two things were going to happen. Either, she was going to fail to get a body and finally die or she loses more of herself with her jumping. If she's being claimed dead, most likely it's one or the other. I'm hedging my bet on the second option. Most likely, her mind is gong to be a conflicted mess." Merch said sagely. "Wherever and whatever she is, she's going to need to absorb warper flames. Plenty of it to keep her mind in check."

"Thanks for the assurance, Merch." Naruto said dryly. "Say hi to Beth and the family for me."

"Will do." Merch said before hanging up.

Naruto got in the Sky Fox before piloting it to get right in front of the village. He waited for Temari to show up only to see Sai come up to him.

"Hm, Sai? What's up?" Naruto asked.

"My father wishes to ask where's your first location. He's in Neo Uzu, and wishes to catch up to you." Sai remarked tersely.

"Suna. I'll be meeting up with Gaara." Naruto said as Sai nodded before taking off.

Temari soon came up with a bag for the road only for Sakura to be trailing behind.

"I wanted to just say goodbye, and let you know that I put in a call to Team 5 to go with you." Sakura said sweetly.

"Why so?" Naruto asked. "I don't really need protection."

"No, Naruto-sama. Not for protection…for your entertainment." Sakura said to Naruto's surprise. "I suggested this to Karin and she agreed it was a good idea. Miyabi agreed to let you be your temp jonin sensei to use however you want."

"Sakura, why are you…Oh my god, you're naked under that thing." Temari said seeing a dripping pool form under the closed trenchcoat.

"I was just on my way to Miyabi. You know the usual payment…I'll be waiting for you, Naruto-sama." Sakura said biting her lap. "When you come back, take me and remind me of my place."

Sakura headed off leaving Temari look at Naruto incredulous.

"Geez, you broke her." Temari said as Naruto shook his head.

"Yes and no, Sakura in this universe was…always a bit of a slut. She willingly threw herself at me to save her family, but I think she gets off on being dominated." Naruto said nonchalant. "Total sub. Hope you don't mind Team 5 coming though."

"As long as I get my time with you, it won't be too bad." Temari said as Shikamaru and Mai arrived via Shunshin.

"Naruto, I just wanted to wish you good luck on your journey and ask for a Hirashin. Just in case." Shikamaru said before being tossed one.

"Stay safe, partner." Mai said with a small grin.

As they made their leave, Team 5 sans their sensei arrived. Kasumi, Fuki, and Ami were there with their bags as they quietly boarded the ship with Naruto and Temari.

"I'm glad you ladies can join me." Naruto said with a wry grin. "Have a seat and get ready for takeoff!"

Naruto had taken to the skies right as Itachi and Kisame just arrived at the village. Ironically, the Akatsuki's vacation time in the West left them blissfully unaware canon was derailed. Itachi looked over the village…confused.

"Are those…fox people?" Itachi said befuddled.

(A/N: The next following chapters are going to rather short pieces detailing a few things before we start Shippuden. Namely, training, Guren, and Itachi. How do you think Itachi is going to react to the new Konoha or what happened to Sasuke? Tell me in your review.)
