"Get up, you lazy scruffs!"
"Millicent? Are we under attack?"
"You will be, if you don't get out of that bed, Dul. And Valenen-"
"I know. I'm up."
"You should still be fixing the autopilot."
"Ok. I know. I'll go now."
"Well, right now I need you to help me in the cargo bay. Both of you, come with me."
"Should we grab Teller?"
"Absolutely not."
"There's a trading post nearby. Does anybody want to stop?"
"I don't see why not. I need to continue with Teller's training, but there's no rush on that. Becoming a Jedi is a long and arduous process."
"Ok, swing us around, Dolt. The post should only be a few minutes out of the way."
"Can I drive?" Jamie asked, excitedly.
"Yeah, of course." Jon swung the rotating driver's seat away so that D0-1T could squeeze out and let his daughter hop in.
"Should she really be driving?" Thayla asked, raising an eyebrow at Jon.
"Calm down, this isn't a spaceship. Besides, with how often people try to kill us, everyone here should know how to drive this baby, just in case."
"Well, I don't think she's old enough."
Jon's demeanor suddenly shifted. "That's very nice, Thayla, but I raised her and I know what's best for her."
A five minute staring contest came next, with both parties unwilling to give an inch of ground. Thayla's hand gripped tightly around her metal staff.
"Maybe you should save your orders for Teller."
"Well, perhaps you should start taking advice."
"We're here."
Both adults suddenly looked out the cockpit window to see their daughter expertly navigating the ship past the merchant stalls and into a smooth stop.
"Can I go shopping on my own?"
"No, you're not old enough."
"I just parked the ship! Plus, I stay alone all the time and I always get my chores and studying done."
"That's different. That's at home."
"Or in the smuggler's compound. Or in the wharf."
"Don't talk back to me. You're staying with me and that's final."
Jamie sighed and headed for the hatch. "Ok, fine."
Thayla looked at Jon, suddenly very pleased with herself.
"That was a completely different situation."
"She wasn't old enough."
Suddenly, the screen on Teller's bunk swung open.
"What happened? Are we under attack again?"
