No One Else
The room was dark and cold, with the exception of one wall. It looked more like a large window, but I knew that from inside of the conference room, it looked just like all the other walls; boring and grey. Kamiko and I were sitting in our seats in complete silence. While the wall blocked us from view and shielded away our chakra, any sound made would still be heard by the arriving Kage's and guards. Slowly the five Kage's and their guards started filling the room. Once everyone was in their arranged places, Mifune started the meeting. It wasn't long after the meeting was started before the Kage's were all arguing. 'How annoying… The five strongest people in the world, and they aren't able to get through one conversation without arguing and accusing each other.' I complained mentally. After Danzo revealed that he believed Uchiha Madara to be the leader of the Akatsuki, the five Kage's finally seemed to take the situation seriously. Probably as a means to prevent another argument from happening, Mifune proposed an alliance between all of the Great Nations. It seemed to have a bit of a opposite effect though, as once again the different ideologies of the various villages lead to all leaders having a different point of view over whether or not an alliance was a good thing. Still, Mifune managed to keep them under control. He proceeded to explain how they would need a leader. 'That would be Danzo's cue.' I realized and quickly stood up, ready to get out of the room the second the Mizukage's guard, Ao, noticed the use of Shisui's Sharingan. Sure enough, just seconds after Mifune proposed Danzo to be the leader of the alliance, Ao jumped down and stopped him.
"That would be proof enough, wouldn't you agree, Mifune?" I asked as I calmly walked out with Tanuki right behind me, both of us hiding behind our ANBU masks.
"Indeed. It seems you were correct, Commander." Mifune nodded his head gravely.
"ANBU Commander Fox! What are you doing? I'm your Hokage!" Danzo snapped at me, his once visible eye shining with pure fury. "Why are you not in Konoha? That's against my orders!"
"I'm afraid you're not my Hokage. And therefore, I can't possibly be breaking my Hokage's orders." I stated clearly, ready to fight should he or his guards decided to attack. "I'm here on orders from Tsunade. I have known that you have the eye of Uchiha Shisui for years and so Tsunade ordered me to make sure you did not use it wrongly. I have proof that you used it to take the Hokage seat, I followed you here. Ao-san clearly saw you use it, and therefore by orders of Tsunade, the Godaime of Konohagakure and the official Hokage until your inauguration which I now will make sure won't happen, you are now under arrest. Please cooperate until we reach the village."
"What the fuck is going on here?" the Raikage yelled out his confusion. I quickly bowed my head to him respectfully.
"My apologized, Raikage. As Ao just explained, Danzo has been using the power of Uchiha Shisui to climb in power. With the Kage Summit happening so quickly after the first election fase, we had no time to finish his trial for treason." I explained calmly while a group of Samurai entered the room and escorted Danzo and his two Root Agents out. "We were therefore forced to use underhanded means to stop him from claiming more power by such means."
"And you knew about this, Mifune?" the Tsuchikage asked the Samurai Commander.
"Yes, I have here the letter of Godaime Hokage Tsunade-hime." Mifune explained and showed the letter I had handed them.
"Then I assume you find yourself to be a better Hokage?" the Tsuchikage scoffed arrogantly. I took off my mask and smiled innocently while a series of shocked gasps were heard through the room as the Shinobi recognized me.
"Well, I hardly want the position. I have to admit that even after years as an ANBU Commander, paperwork is still a drag. What I do want to propose however, is that I represent Konoha until we can elect a proper Hokage." I said sweetly, naturally slipping into my more carefree way of speaking. The other Kage's had no time to respond before a plant-like man appeared out of the floor. 'The spy, Zetsu.' I recognized from Itachi's descriptions. 'Though it appears only half of him is here.'
"Hello!" Zetsu yelled out brightly with a smile on his face. The reaction was momentarily. Every guard jumped down to cover their Kage should the Akatsuki member attack, Kamiko quickly taking a step closer to me so that both of us were ready to attack.
"One problem after another, now what?" the Raikage complained loudly, a fierce scowl donning his face.
"Uchiha Sasuke has snuck in! Now where could he be?" Zetsu called out, clearly enjoying the chaos he was creating. I sighed heavily. 'Fuck it all, are the Akatsuki trying to kill him off or something? Kami, Sasu-chan, once again Nee-chan has to deal with your shit…' I mentally ranted. Quickly everyone in the room started muttering about Sasuke. "Let's all go look for Sasuke!"
The Raikage jumped out of his seat and grabbed onto Zetsu's neck and started squeezing.
"Where is Uchiha Sasuke?" he yelled out. 'Not exactly the quiet type, is he?' I smirked slightly and quickly unsealed my tanto. "Answer me!"
Next thing I knew, the Raikage and his guards were running out of the meeting room to track down Sasuke. Once again, I sighed heavily.
"I suppose I should do something about this… Why couldn't Sasu-chan have soaked up my ever-awesome advices as well as Naru-chan did?" I wondered out loud and quickly ran after the Raikage with Kamiko hot on my heals.
I arrived just in time to see Sasuke and the Raikage in an intense fight. Raikage was using his lightning armour and Sasuke was using his Susanoo.
"Sasu-chan!" I called out strictly. "What have I said about breaking and entering meetings you're not qualified to attend?"
"Tch. It's not my fault the Akatsuki brought me here once they discovered that the Hachibi had gotten away." Sasuke stated and glared at me. "What are you doing here? I'm here to kill Danzo."
"What do you mean the Hachibi got away?" the Raikage called out in frustration.
"Hn." Was the only indication Sasuke gave that he heard the Raikage. The Raikage however, started ranting about how much of an annoyance his brother was. The famed Killer Bee had clearly used the attack as an escape to get some time away from Kumo. I snorted a bit at that. At that moment a group of Samurai ran into the room we were fighting.
"Nakamaru-san, the prisoner got away!" one of them yelled and I groaned in frustration.
"For fucks sake… I knew we should have brought more guard." I complained and turned around to face Kamiko. "Tanuki, new orders. Head back to Konoha and order the immediate arrest of Elder Danzo. Have every ANBU ready to capture him the second he arrives at the village. Anyone who tries to stop the arrest will face the same fate. Dismissed!"
"Danzo isn't here?" Sasuke asked coldly. 'Why is he so colder than the last time I met him? Shouldn't he be happy now that he knows everything? My genjutsu should have dispelled the second he was alone. Surely he must have been alone after the fight?' I wondered while observing his icy exterior.
"Indeed not." I said brightly, pretending everything was fine. "So now that we know Killer Bee is fine and Danzo is gone, let's calm down a bit?"
No one had a chance to respond before Sasuke disappeared in a strange swirl I recognized. It was exactly the same as Kakashi's Kamui. 'A time-space ninjutsu?' I mentally asked.
"We should head back to the others." I stated, furrowing my brows slightly. Something was off.
The meeting room was trashed, obviously as an after effect of the Kage's and their guards' fight with Zetsu. It seemed like a lot of them had showed up.
"What the fuck is going on and where did Uchiha Sasuke go?" the Raikage yelled as he saw the now messed up meeting hall in front of him. Then another chakra presence suddenly appeared in the room and in another Kamui-looking swirl, a masked Akatsuki member appeared with a knocked out Sasuke thrown over his shoulder.
"Calm down, Raikage. My name is Uchiha Madara. I have something I want to explain to you." The masked member stated. "After you've understood it, I want to ask you something."
The glares of every person in the room pierced the Akatsuki member, though he seemed completely unbothered.
"About what?" the Raikage snarled out. The self-proclaimed Madara went on to explain how he wanted to gather all of the tailed beasts to finish his plan by becoming the Jinchuriki of the Jubi and cast an eternal genjutsu on everyone to obtain what he called peace.
"I will not allow you to touch Uzumaki Naruto." I said coldly in a perfect Uchiha manner.
"Nor will I." Gaara agreed.
"Raikage, what about you?" Madara asked, though he didn't sound like he expected a positive response.
"Of course I won't hand over my brother to you!" The Raikage yelled out.
"So be it." Madara looked down on all of us. "I hereby declare the Fourth Shinobi War. The next time we meet will be on the battlefield."
He then disappeared in another Kamui-like jutsu. 'I have to make Kashi show me that so I can compare the two jutsus, maybe they work the same way?'
"Well… At least your brother's okay." I told the Raikage, trying to stay somewhat positive. "But I believe this proves that we need an alliance."
"That much is obvious." The Tsuchikage stated with a nod. "Now there's the matter of the leader."
"If I may?" I asked softly, earning nods from every Kage. "I believe the Raikage should lead the alliance. Konohagakure and Kumogakure are currently the only villages with a Jinchuriki and as Konoha currently don't possess a Hokage, and of course the risk of Tsunade not waking up, we can't risk a completely new Kage leading the alliance."
The Raikage looked at me in shock. 'Wow, one would think there hasn't been anyone capable of making reasonable remarks without trying to strengthen their own village before…'
"Do you not see yourself as capable?" I asked teasingly while I studied his expression and smiled brightly. "If not, then we could always sick it on someone else."
"I believe Nakamaru-san makes an excellent point. Not about forcing the job on someone else, of course." The Mizukage stated. "The Raikage is best suited to lead the alliance. Kirigakure will join."
"As will Sunagakure." Gaara added seriously.
"…Iwagakure will join as well." The Tsuchikage said after a few seconds of silence and everyone turned their attention to me.
"Oh right! We don't currently have a Hokage, but Konohagakure will join. With your permission, I will report everything back to our Council. Should Tsunade stay in coma, I'll make sure the next Hokage knows everything he needs." I proposed respectfully.
"I believe you mean that should Tsunade-hime stay in coma, you will take the Hokage hat. I will not deal with another Danzo." The Raikage stated strictly.
"I am, of course, extremely honoured that you think so highly of me, Raikage." I started saying respectfully, fully prepared to talk my way out of this. "But I believe that Hata…-"
"That you're perfect for the job." The Mizukage interrupted me with a slight smirk. "Ao-san has let me know how strong of a Shinobi you are. You're close with Konoha's Jinchuriki and clearly qualified. It will be nice to have another lady among all this testosterone."
"But… The paperwork!" I whined slightly childishly.
"You interrupted the Five Kage Summit." The Raikage stated with a smirk. "Call it karma."
