Chapter Twenty-Five

As soon as Bella had stopped struggling, Jasper loosens his grip a bit to see what she will do. She just lays there so he helps her stand. She looks around at the people staring at her. Her children were in the house, looking out the window with tears running down their faces. Rosalie, Emmett and the wolves were standing in front of the door and windows protecting the children. Carlisle was examining Edward's arm where she had bit him. Alice and Esme were hugging each other while Peter and Charlotte stood in front of them in a protective stance. All four looked at her with sad knowing eyes.

Bella can't believe she snapped. She had finally snapped like a true newborn vampire…and she felt sick to her stomach. Bella sobbed and would have collapsed to the ground had Jasper not been holding her up. Then all of a sudden she was out of Jasper's arms and in new arms. She didn't even have to look to see who it was. She would remember his smell even without vampire memory. She knew she should pull away, but she just couldn't. She felt safe and at home where she was and she also felt a little calmer. So, instead of running like she wanted, she stood there and sobbed into Edward's shirt.

Everyone can tell Bella is calming down, so they decide to leave the two alone and go into the house. The kids ran to Jacob, Seth and Leah crying. They take them to the game room to try and get them calmed down. Once they are out of sight, Carlisle asks Rosalie "What happened?"

"I….I don't know. We were talking about when Edward cornered her in the kitchen and talked to her. I was telling her I thought she should at least try and figure out a way to get along with Edward, even if it was only for the children's sake. That even human parents do that for their children. She froze when I said that and dropped the food and ran off. You know what happened after that." Rose replies as she hangs onto Emmett.

Everyone turns to the door and watches as Edward leads Bella in and sits them both on the couch. Everyone waits for Bella to speak, hoping it would be sooner rather than later. They really wanted to know what had upset her so much so quickly. Bella is clinging to Edward like he is her lifeline. This just proves more they are mates. Edward's head shoots up and he stares at Jasper. Jasper can feel the hope coming off of Edward.

Jasper smirks. You heard me correct. I have told you more than once that even if she keeps pushing you away I can feel the love she has for you coming off of her. She is just scared you are going to leave her again. But look what happened. When she got so distressed you couldn't handle not holding her. And instead of pushing you away she held onto you tighter. Both reactions are were of a mate wanting to comfort and the other wanting to be comforted. She still isn't letting you go with all of us in this room. Just give her time and she will be yours again. Of course, you have to prove you really will NEVER leave her again.

Edward's eyes sparkle as he looks down at his Bella. He would prove to her as many times as she needed that he would never leave her, that he COULDN'T leave her again. Of course, that would have to be after they told everyone else what is going on. He only knew from Alice's vision, Bella was going to run to Forks, fight Victoria somewhere along the way and die. But how did Bella know where Victoria was? He bends his head down and kisses the top of Bella's head lightly, wishing, yet again, that he could read her mind.

Bella finally speaks. "Victoria is going after my dad, if she doesn't already have him."

Alice gasps and is sucked into a vision. As Edward and her watch it play out they see Bella is right. Now that Alice knew what to look for she could see Victoria had kidnapped Charlie. She could only see Victoria torturing Charlie now and then though.

Edward and Alice stare at each other. "How is she hiding from me, Edward? And why didn't I see that she was going to take Charlie sooner?"

Bella whimpers, so Edward pulls her on his lap and holds her tighter. "I don't know Alice, but we have to figure out if it has already happened first."

Again, proving you are mates. She whimpered and you pulled her, without thinking, into your lap so you could hold her closer and tighter. And again, she didn't fight you doing so. Edward smiles at Jasper's thoughts and squeezes Bella again while listening to what the others were still discussing.

"We were already looking into it while you two stared lovingly into each other's eyes." Rose smacks Emmett in the head. "Hey, I was just joking I knew they were watching a vision. Anyway, Charlie has been missing for about two days now."

Bella looks over Edward's shoulder to see the wolves and her children smiling at her from the door leading to the basement. The kids had calmed down and wanted to be with the rest of the family, so the six of them had headed back upstairs. At first she can't figure out why they were smiling at her after how she behaved. Bella then realizes where she is sitting. Crap! She starts to pull away from Edward.

At first, Edward tightens his grip until he hears Jasper think Edward she is scared and nervous all of sudden, I would let her go.

Bella was going to say something to Edward about how she was fine now, but hears him sigh sadly as he lets her go. She is kind of shocked he didn't make her stay. She mentally shrugs and goes to stand in the corner. She can see everyone is still tense around her, after her behavior she doesn't blame them. She wants to hug her children, but figures it is best to stay away until everyone sees she is fine.

But her kids have other ideas. They came over to her and pull her to the floor. Once they have her sitting, they climb all around her. She smiles sadly at them. Well, at least she knows she is forgiven by them. She looks up to see the wolves have moved a little closer. Bella sighs and tries to focus on what is being said.

"Well, how are we going to save Charlie then?" Esme asks.

Edward replies in a growl "We need a plan. The first thing we need to do is figure out where she has taken him."
