Long Live the Evil Triplet
Chapter 24
Fire, Threats, and Secrets
Asha heard Damien behind her as she ran. Her chest tighten in fear as she tried to find a place to hide.
No.
Not again.
Not with him.
Flashbacks of Damien's abuse on Asha crossed her mind and she almost paused to throw up on the lavishing carpet, but she swallowed hard and held it down.
"Stay strong." Luis's voice echoed in her ears.
She wanted too.
But she already felt her bravery waning as she hid behind the corner. She was breathing hard, and as the blood rushed to her head she thought of Luis, lying there, in the kitchen unable to move or do anything because of Magica...
"You don't have to take it," Webby said, gently. "Switch back with me. I'll handle Damien."
Webby was actually concerned for her? She was half willing to let her switch back.
But Asha couldn't do it.
She was just like Luis when it came to their alternate egos. She cared about Webby. Like she cared about Luis. Why was it that she and Luis seemed to care so much? How was it that they couldn't do to their alternate egos what they do to others?
But Damien...
"Found you." Damien whispered in her ear, making her jump. She had been so lost in thought that she didn't hear him sneak up on her.
Now it was too late.
Damien pressed himself up against Asha. Asha tried to scream but Damien pressed his arm up against her throat, cutting off her wind pipe.
"I wonder," He hissed as Asha squirmed underneath him. "how much more fun it will be to torture you in this form." He hummed as he used his other hand to brush away the feathers from her sweaty face.
Asha felt the blood rush to her ears. She couldn't use her siren power on Damien, never could, she tried once. She almost died when Damien found out what she was doing.
Asha shivered.
Damien's eyes twinkled at the look on Asha's face and loosened the pressure on her wind pipe just a bit he was hoping to hear her scream. Asha's screaming was like music to his ears. He had been dreading her coming to this world, leaving him alone, but once he was able to join her here, it was all worth the wait...
He felt more alive out here, then he had ever been in the depths of Dewey's mind. It was like Damien was running on adrenaline and he was going to swallow every ounce of it.
"No, P,Please Damien." She pleaded with him.
Damien always made Asha feel weak, helpless, and like the world was against her. If she hadn't had Luis and his encouraging words he had said to her before he left. She would have already given up. Let Damien do with her what he wanted.
Damien scoffed.
"I love it when you beg." He whispered in her ear. "I've missed it."
He started to press his beak firmly on Asha's neck, and Asha's body stiffened. She felt the slight burning of his bill against her neck. Damien's power building up inside him making her eyes water and her heart beat hard against her chest.
Damien had the power to set fire to things with his mind alone.
Asha had been burned by Damien more times then she liked to admit. Sometimes to the point where she turned to ash. It was Damien who gave her the name Asha just for that reason. She had wanted Luis to name her for she was the last out of the curse to come about and felt instantly drawn to him.
But Damien got to her first.
It was a good thing that they hadn't emerged into their alternate ego selves yet back then or else Asha would have been a gonner, in the hands of Damien. Of course, Damien wouldn't get into trouble for he was Magica's favorite. She'd just scold him then give him some light they so desperately craved at times and that would be that. If it had been anyone else, Magica would have done away with them.
Forever.
But Asha would have regenerated seconds later just to feel the pain again over and over until Damien was satisfied and was done with her for awhile.
That's what made Damien the worst out of all of them. Inside Dewey's mind all he could do to Dewey was cause him headache's that obviously Dewey never told anyone about and didn't understand himself.
But now, now, that power was in full out over load mode.
She knew what was coming, knew she couldn't stop it, no matter what she said next. She felt it, the burning, and it was ten times worse in this form as it ever was back in the depths of the mind. Asha opened up her mouth and screamed bloody murder.
Louie opened his eyes to the sound of Asha screaming.
He forced himself up, and groaned as he rubbed his head.
"Louie? Honey. You okay?" Della asked anxiously as she put her sons' face in hands.
Louie heard Asha scream again. He knew it was Asha and not Webby. Webby would never let someone get close enough to her to make her scream like that, unless...
Louie bolted up from the floor.
"Asha!" Louie shouted.
Louie didn't know why he cared so much about her. He only knew of her through Luis. Maybe that was why? Luis cared about her like he cared for him and wanted to protect her? It was the least he could do for Luis now that he was no longer in the picture.
Magica was still standing in the doorway of the kitchen. She no longer looked like Della but that didn't make it any easier on Louie not to be scared of her. She held both his kolepesh and Luis's rifle in her hands and smirked at them.
"Just try and get past me, brat. I'm Magica De Spell! Caster of the dark arts! The cause of your nightmares! i'm -."
Before Magica could finish her dialog Louie sprinted towards her, head first, and fast enough to make his Uncle Donald proud. He ignored the cry from his Mom and the angry snarl from Magica as she tumbled down to the ground.
Luckily the gun didn't go off and Louie was able to grab his kolepesh. He pointed the sharped in blade up against Magica's throat who stared at Louie in a new light.
"I suggest you don't move." Louie spat at her.
"Or what?" Magica snickered. '
"I'll cut you, dice you up into little pieces." Louie threatened her.
Della stared at her son in a new light. She didn't know what to do in this situation. It was both disturbing and intureging to her. Louie wasn't that lonely little boy when she first met him. He was different, but, in a good way.
Louie could still feel Luis inside him. But he kept his distance, Luis had said he's always be there for Louie. But this time, when Louie needed and wanted him. Louie knew they'd never again switch, never again see each other in person, but knew each other was still there. He had let go of Luis, let go of Luis always taking care of the problem, always taking the heat for him.
Right now,
Louie needed to do this on his own.
"You sure you aren't Luis right now?" Magica snickered.
"I know I'm not." Louie snarled back. He grabbed the gun away from Magica and tossed it to his mother who caught it in her hands. "Think you can keep an eye on her, Mom?" Louie asked. Not taking his eyes off of Magica's yellow eyes.
"Sure thing, sweetie." Della said, pointing the gun at Magica who only scoffed at her. "Go do what you gotta do." She added, cocking the gun and letting the already used bullets fall out.
Louie nodded and turned to leave but Magica wasn't about to let them have the last word.
"All my creations have a certain power due to the side effect of the curse, Lewellyn." She said, making Louie freeze at the bottom of the stairs. He looked back at her, his eyes blazing into hers. "Luis never told you what his was, did he?" Magica continued to smile at him.
Louie's chest tightened.
No.
Louie hadn't even considered that Luis had a power. Did that mean Asha wasn't the only one? He knew Asha's power as a siren when he was watching out of the bottom of the hole in his mind. But he had never thought to even ask Luis what his was.
"No. He didn't." Louie said.
"I can tell you, what it is, because it's my understanding that he's found peace with you. But you, you will still have that power. The curse isn't broken, not all of it, only with you, and until it is, you will have that power." Magica explained.
Asha screamed again, making Louie's heart race.
Magica was stalling for time. Why. Louie didn't know.
"You can hear me out, or go save the girl. It's your choice." Magica told him.
"I'm not interested in anything you have to say. Magica." Louie said, finally.
Della's chest swelled with pride for her son as she watched him turn and run up the stairs. Magica chuckled softly and Della glared at her, not moving from her spot. Her chest may be bleeding out, and in pain from the wound, but, she was still a good shot with her other hand.
Uncle Scrooge taught both her and Donald how to shoot at the age of five.
"What were you talking about?" Della asked. "About a curse?"
Louie was about to run up the stairs when he ran into Huey. Huey saw him and was about to tackle him to the ground thinking he was Luis when Louie shouted,
"I'm Louie, Hue!" Louie shouted. "Honest!"
Huey skidded to a stop, and narrowed his eyes at him.
"I'm not buying it," Huey spat at him. He came at him again but the sound of Asha screaming stopped him. He looked up towards the top of the stairs.
"Fine, don't, but right now, we need to save Asha. She's been screaming like that for awhile now. If we don't -." Louie began, then stopped seeing the look on Huey's face, then slowly turned his head towards the top of the stairs.
Asha was being held by her head feathers as she was made to look at Dewey.
She had burns all over her, and her feathers were molted. Dewey stood behind her. His feet planted firmly on the ground as he held her tightly to him.
"D,Dewey?" Huey stammered, shocked to see his brother holding Webby in such a manner that was almost possivily.
Damien looked at his brothers and rested his chin on Asha's shoulder.
"Hello, Huebert. Lewellyn." Damien said.
Louie's eyes narrowed.
"You aren't Dewey. Are you." He said, finally. "Dewey would never touch Webby that way."
"You are the sharp one, aren't you." Damien snickered. He glanced over at Huey who still looked like the curse hadn't reached him yet. "How'd the wereduck situation work out, Hue? I'd thought he'd eat you by now. Or, you'd join them..."
"We came to an agreement." Huey said, not taking his eyes off Asha. "They leave me alone, until I call for them when the time came, and he wouldn't have to die along with his pack."
Damien scoffed.
"Can't get good help these days." Damien said with a disappointed sigh. "Ain't that right? Asha." He cooed at her, making her whimper in response.
"Who are you." Louie asked. He gripped his kolepesh tightly. His head was still buzzing about the power Luis had that Magica mentioned. He couldn't focus long enough to help Asha.
"Damien. Dewey's alternate ego." Damien answered.
Huey glared at him.
"Guess the curse activated when Asha kissed Dewey." Huey said.
Damien snickered.
"Smart little woodchuck, aren't you?" He said.
"Let Asha go. Now." Louie said, as he took a step foward.
Damien's eyes shown brightly. He used one hand to rip off Webby's pink bow. He sniffed it, letting her sent overwhelm him before whispering in Asha's ear.
"Don't think I won't do to them, what I do to you." He hissed, "Convince them not to say a word about me, and stop trying to break the curse. Or I won't hesitate, and make you burn while you sleep." He said, then let go of Asha and pushed her hard down the grand stair case.
"ASHA!" Louie bellowed.
Asha tumbled down the stairs, until she finally stopped at Louie's feet. Face down. Louie knelt down quickly and held her in his arms. Careful not to squeeze to tightly for the fear of causing her pain from her burns.
Huey glared up at Damien who grinned down at him, but Webby's pink bow in between his teeth, then snapped his fingers.
Fire circled around him, Louie, and Asha. But Huey could still see between the cackling fire at Damien who bounded out of sight, heading towards Scrooge McDuck's room.
Damien had a job to do and he was more the willing to finish what Luis started...
