Vic spent the next six days working on his business empires. He took out every Bikers and Sharks empire and turned them all to either small time, medium-venture, and high-roller. After he wiped out every gang members' empires and made them his own, he had to do jobs for each of the three businesses. He hated touching drugs, but knew he had no other choice but to work with the businesses. So he wanted to get everything done as quick as possible.

First, for the robbery business, he had to steal some of the money from the couriers before they could have a chance to reach their destinations. For smuggling, Vic had to collect the packages that fell from the helicopters and transport them back to the business empires he now owned. For drugs, the final business of his empires, Vic needed to arrange drug deals with others. He did each of those three tasks once a day.

Vic, of course did go through a lot of drama during the job, such as couriers calling their guards for protection, other gangs, and of course, the police, as well as the DEA trying to take down Vic. Despite all of that, Vic got each and every job done successfully, and after a week, he earned all thirty of the empire businesses around Vice City. The Vance Crime Family was now the most high ranking gang of the city, along with the Mendez brothers.

Vic was outside of his apartment building looking around, showing great pride of what he had accomplished, when he heard his pager beeping. He took it off of his belt and read the message. It was from Gonzalez.

"Victor," the message read. "My friend. Come and see me. I'm at the Leaf Links Golf Club."

Vic then stored his pager away. Gonzalez actually wanted him to meet him at a golf course. From the hard work Vic had already finished doing with Reni, as well as the empire buildings he had taken over, he felt it was time to take a break for a while and do something to quench his stress.

He then drove through the city. The sun shone brightly in the almost pale sky. The weather was nice and refreshing outside. It was a beautiful summer drive around Washington Beach, and Vic drove through the streets of Vice Point, where he made a left turn and drove west to Vice Beach down a bridge leading to the Leaf Links Golf Club.

As Vic put the vehicle he was driving in to a park in front of the entrance leading to the golf course, he hopped out of the vehicle and walked up to the golf course's entrance. He had to pass through a metal detector. So his weapons were now confiscated and set aside. Vic hoped that the impending task Gonzalez offered to him wasn't going to involve killing anyone, because he was not prepared for such a task without any weapons with him.

As soon as Vic entered the golf course, he spotted a caddy up ahead. He hopped inside the caddy and rode it around the golf course. There was also a tennis court on the right side. Vic rode through a bridge up ahead. The grassy path was getting bumpier and steeper. There were also a few golfers on the course as well.

Vic drove all the way on the other end of the course and came to a stop in front of a golfing platform. He stepped outside and looked around to find Gonzalez.

He said he'd be here, Vic thought.

"Ah, Vic!" he heard Gonzalez call out from behind. Vic turned to see Gonzalez riding a caddy with one of his guys, as well as a second caddy with two other guys as well. "I hope you play golf."

"Sure," Vic answered confidently. "I've played a round or two."

Gonzalez chuckled heartedly. "I play around all the time," he joked, "but don't tell my wife. Vic, I find the way a man plays golf says much about him."

"Really?" Vic asked.

"Si," Gonzalez answered. "For instance, I trusted Jesús over there. Yet, he betrayed me. Heh!"

He pointed to the tall buoy floating in the water just about a yard away from the course. There was a miniature model of a life-like doll strapped to it. "I should have known better," Gonzalez continued. "He's a terrible golfer. Let's see if I like the way you play, eh? Then maybe we do business."

Vic didn't say a single word about this. So he stepped over the edge of the course to take a good hard look at the buoy with the doll strapped to it. Vic pulled out a golf club from the caddy and stepped right onto the spot. It has been so long since he has played golf, and he still memorized the techniques his uncle had taught him during the family's visit at the Dominican Republic.

So Vic kept his concentration on his target, kept his grip on the golf club nice and tight as he got into his right hand stance, pulled the golf club over his shoulder, and whacked the golf ball with all his might. He watched as the golf ball sailed over the water and made a direct hit onto the buoy, the impact causing it to explode instantly. It sank underwater afterwards.

Gonzalez laughed hard at the sight. "Bueno!" he cheered gleefully. "You bastard! No one sells me out!"

Gonzalez and his guys had then hopped inside their caddies. "Well played, Vic," Gonzalez complimented.

"Thanks," Vic told him.

"Regard this as a down-payment on your services," Gonzalez replied. "I'll be in touch."

Vic watched as Gonzalez and the other guys rode off. Meanwhile, Vic heard his pager beeping and pulled it off his belt to read the message. It was from Lance.

"Watch your back Bro'" the message read. "Word on the street is - Martinez has split from FED protection... "

Vic sighed in stress. He knew he wasn't going to like this. Now that Martinez had ditched the DEA to leave the witness protection program, he was free to screw Vic over when he had the chance. So being very wary of the corrupt sergeant, Vic decided to meet up with Lance to see what he was up to. He hopped inside the caddy and drove away.
