Lasers are striking the ground around Magni as he tries to make his way to Firepower. Cars explode and rupture gas lines are ignited by the lasers. Firepower doesn't care about the casualty damage he just wants to complete his contract and prove to the world that he was back in the game. He was still flying overhead out of reach of Magni, but in reach of his mini-grenades that he drops on top of Magni as he is caught in the explosion this time.
Firepower looks down and is surprised when he sees Magni get back up. The Rose did not tell him everything there was about this hero. Firepower didn't care if he was the Hulk, there was no way that Magni would survive this encounter.
Magni sees the flying person causing all the damage and attacking him and he wonders who this was? It seems like mid-guard had gone crazy, unlike when his father rule. It seems every day there was some new person out to get him and he didn't understand why. He just wants to return home, not to get caught up in this daily conflict.
"Why are you doing this? What have these people done to you?"
Turning on his armor speakers "I don't care about these people. I just want you."
"Me, I have never seen you. Why would you attack me?"
"You have made some enemies here and I'm being paid a lot of money to kill you."
"Even is innocence people must die for you to get your money?"
"So for money, you will shed innocent blood. I don't know you but that kind of evil I will not stand for. You will find a warrior of New Asgard not easy to kill."
Magni picks up a firey truck and hurls it in the air at his target, but he easily avoids and returns fire with a particle cannon. It hits Magni hard and knocks him through the pavement. Firepower hovers above waiting for his adversary.
Stan was listening to IHeart radio with his earbuds on in the library when he heard about the attack. He rushes from the library and starts toward the museum district. He hopes that Rebecca had the sense to stay out of harm's way. Stan knew all too well the danger of being around Magni and this just proves it. Shore City was still recovering from the Lava Man's attack and now this new guy shows up after Magni destroying the city again. He wonders if it was even worth it having a hero in this city. He wonders how New York has survived all these years.
Viper had her new bodyguard the man formerly known as Trevor Scott and he was working out better than her scientists had hope. He was showing good progress and his strength was even stronger than they plan on. She was interrupted by the news of the battle happening in Shore City, she thinks that maybe this armor fool can get rid of Magni for her. She had never seen him before and ask her researchers to find out more about this armor person.
The Rose was watching the battle from the safety of his penthouse. Unlike the other people that he had sent about Magni, he could not even reach Firepower while he was in the air. This gave him a huge advantage over the hero. He wonders how much longer he will last against the arsenal of Firepower. He looks on and waits to see if the hero will emerge.
As his scanners go wide he was shocked to see Magni slowly rise back up he could see that his body was bruised, but he would get no sympathy from him. He goes up higher and returns with a barrage of weapons all target at Magni. He picked up a car and tries to shield himself from the attack, and while Firepower flies overhead this time he hurls the car behind him striking him to the ground.
Firepower recovers quickly just as he was about to launch again Magni grabs him and flings him toward the park semi-truck. He charges at his fallen foe, Firepower greets him with his double power particle cannon strike him both times and sends him reeling. Firepower takes back off to the air, knowing that as long as he is airborne there was very little that this hero could do to him. He turns about and activates his new weapon the rail blaster that could level a city block and he turns it full blast on Magni striking him and leveling two buildings along with him.
He stares down and his time there is no movement, his scanners show nothing was even stirring down there. He turns on his heat sensors just to be sure but nothing. He had gotten rid of Shore City's sole hero. He laughs as he flies away.
