MCGARRETT HOUSE - AUGUST 12, 2020 - 1800 HOURS

"Shit." Catherine's head hit the back of the door as it slammed shut. Steve grinned at the hushed expletive that she had whispered as he kissed his way down her neck. She had made the mistake of welcoming him home from work after he had spent all day thinking back to their "just friends" phase - when he couldn't have his way with her whenever he pleased. After Catherine had opened the door for him when he arrived home from work, they hadn't made it more than three steps inside before his hands were all over her.

Steve pushed the hem of her dress up before muttering, "Off. Now."

"Yes, Sir." Catherine agreed breathlessly as she untied the sash that accentuated her baby bump and pulled the offending garment over her head.

He yanked the thin dress out of her hands and tossed it onto the floor. Catherine's hands had already undone the buttons of his shirt and pulled it off of his muscular torso. She lifted the hem of his undershirt as Steve grabbed it and tugged it off, tossing it with the other discarded garments. Catherine quickly kicked off her sandals as Steve practically jumped out of his dress shoes.

Steve pushed her back against the door, ravaging her lips with his. Catherine wrapped her arms around his neck as he reached around her slim body and unclasped her bra, letting it fall to the floor. A moan escaped her lips as she felt his mouth make his way to her collar bone. Steve inched his hands down to her underwear and looped his thumbs in them before grabbing her ass and lifting her with ease. She wrapped her legs around his waist as he carried her, stumbling up the stairs to their bedroom.

Catherine's back hit the soft mattress as Steve crawled over her body, resting his hips on hers as he trailed kisses across her exposed breasts. The evening sun was still bright and streamed through the curtains, illuminating every curve and valley of his impeccable body. "Oh, God, Steve." She barely choked out the words as her eyes darted across the ridges and lines of his muscles.

"You like that?" He mumbled against her stomach as he placed soft, loving kisses across her belly, then to her hips, and finally landing a soft bite to her inner thigh. Catherine gasped in pleasure.

"Please." She panted. Steve grinned a self-satisfied smirk. Catherine reached down for his belt, but her hand was intercepted by his iron grip. Steve held her wrists together above her head as he kissed behind her ear, nipping ever so slightly. He rocked his hips against hers as another moan left her mouth. She arched her back towards him as she caught a glimpse of his eyes. They were dark and stormy. Steve's eyes were like the ocean - they were a definite way to know his mood. His normal playful, peaceful blue-hazel eyes were suddenly full of lust and desire. Hurricane eyes, as she called them. They could change in an instant.

Steve finally released her hands and they went straight for his belt, ripping it out of the belt loops before tugging his dress pants off and flinging them across the room.

Catherine's breath hitched in her throat as she felt exactly how excited he was to see her. "You feel so damn good." She finally exhaled.

Steve grinned, "Did'ya miss me?" He whispered seductively in her ear.

"God, yes!" Catherine exclaimed as she gripped his strong shoulders.

Not long after, they laid side by side, tangled in a mess of sheets. Their skin was glistening from the workout they had just endured, laughing quietly and whispering sweet nothings to each other. Steve rolled over onto his side and pulled her into his arms. "Hi." He smiled, nuzzling his nose against hers.

"Welcome home, Commander. Did'ya have a good day at work?" She giggled and smiled against his lips as she allowed herself to take in the masculine specimen that was before her, letting her hands wander down the crests and valleys of his muscles.

Steve smiled and kissed her gently, "What do you say we go to that sushi place on King Street that you like for dinner?" He asked, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear and pulling her in for another kiss. That kiss turned into two more kisses that turned into three, before they spiraled into making out like teenagers.

Catherine grinned, taking a breath, "That sounds amazing, but I can't have sushi..." She frowned playfully before pecking the tip of his nose, "Besides. We're supposed to be at the Palace in an hour. Remember? You were gonna go have drinks with the boys and Tani was gonna go out to dinner with me and then help me pick out stuff for the nursery."

"I remember." He admitted as he mumbled against her neck before trailing sloppy kisses down to her shoulder, "I was just hoping that you wouldn't." He chuckled.

She closed her eyes as an involuntary moan escaped her lips, "Steve…" She whined.

"Yes?" He smirked as his hands slipped between her thighs and slowly spread them apart as he hopped up and hovered over her naked body.

Catherine shuddered as he rocked his hips against hers, teasing her in the worst ways. "We gotta go…" She whispered. "Gonna be late."

Steve chuckled and kissed her lips quickly, "Fine. But this is not over, Lieutenant." He smirked, "Round two tonight?" He pointed at her as he began to dress himself again.

"You're on." She grinned as she pulled another dress out of the closet and slipped it on. "So, uh, what exactly got you all riled up before you walked in the door?"

A light laugh escaped his lips, "Can't I just be happy to see my wife?"

Catherine smiled, "I mean, you can, but you also know that your wife is a former government operative who's trained to get the truth… by any means necessary." She winked.

"You got me." He chuckled. "There's a picture of Billy on the memorial wall outside my office and it just got me thinking about, uh, the night where we did shots of tequila at the bar in Coronado."

She laughed, "I still remember that night like it was yesterday. I thought by head was gonna explode when you tricked me into taking that shot with you." She smirked playfully. "And how jealous you looked when you saw me give Billy my number…Don't deny it- I saw your face over his shoulder! And then you walked me home and we got in a big fight…"

Steve held his hands up defensively, "Okay, there were a few hurt feelings, but I wouldn't say it was a fight." He chuckled as he slipped a pair of more comfortable shoes on.

Catherine grabbed her purse and waited for him at the top of the stairs. "Hey, we made up for it when I got back from Kabul. You kissed me on Christmas Eve at my parents house…"

Steve stood up from tying his shoes and grabbed his wallet before meeting her at the top of the stairs. His hands found their way to her belly and caressed it lovingly. "And then we made out every spare minute we had before I shipped out the day after Christmas." He chuckled, "And then I fell out of the sky into a tree and Joe convinced me to finally ask you out."

Catherine laced her fingers into his as they rested on her bump, "And then we went to the Army-Navy Gala and finally, uh, finally did it." She laughed.

He leaned down and kissed her slowly. He kissed her like he had wanted to that night, standing in the dim light of her one bedroom apartment. Savoring every last bit of her. "I have a surprise for you." He murmured as he pulled away. Catherine began to protest, reminding him that they were already late to meet up with their friends, but Steve just took her hand and led her to Mary's old room. He pushed the door open and turned on the light.

Catherine smiled as she walked in and surveyed the room. The walls were freshly painted in a light peachy pink. The color swatch she had picked out at the hardware store had been aptly named, "Hawaiian Sunset". Steve walked over to a large object in the corner of the room that had been covered with a sheet. He pulled the cloth off and revealed a pristine white crib. Catherine covered her mouth as she ran her hand along the railing. "Steve, did you build this?!"

Steve smiled proudly as he placed his hand on the small of her back and admired his work, "It was actually mine and Mary's crib. I found it in the attic when I was moving stuff up there. It's, uh, it's been sanded and cleaned and painted so it's pretty much like new…" He shrugged.

"It's perfect." She smiled as she leaned up on her toes to kiss him.

Steve presented her with a package that had been hidden behind his back, "One more surprise."

Catherine tore open the box and began to unfold the most beautiful knitted blanket that she had ever seen. She shook her head in disbelief. "It's beautiful…" She whispered as she gently brushed her hand over the pale yellow design. She looked back up at him, "Who's it from?"

"Your mom sent it. She, uh, had it overnighted to my office after you finally called her and told her the good news." He smiled. "She, uh, she said she started knitting it the day after Christmas... Your mom figured we'd need a baby blanket eventually, and she... she wanted to be ready."

Catherine held the blanket close to her body as she buried her face in its warmth. "God, it's perfect." She cried before beginning to laugh and quickly wiping away the tears, "I'm so hormonal I'm crying over a blanket!" She exclaimed.

IOLANI PALACE - AUGUST 12, 2020 - 1900 HOURS

"Hey, hey! It's Super SEAL and Mrs. SEAL!" Danny exclaimed as Steve and Catherine walked through the doors of HQ. "You ready to hit up Haleiwa Joe's?"

Steve clapped his hands together, "Let's do it!" He looked around as Adam and Grover sat in their offices. "Where's uh, where's everybody else? Junior, Cole?" He pointed at Adam and Grover, "I thought it was boy's night?"

Danny shook his head, "Looks like it's just you and me. We had a suspect in a triple homicide turn up dead and they're waiting to hear back from Noelani to see if there's any DNA and Junior and Cole are out running down leads, but, uh, we can head out. I'm not on call tonight."

Just as Danny finished his thought, Grover hung up the phone in his office and walked out to the surface table. "Just talked to Noelani. She told me that she found DNA under our vic's fingernails when he tried to fight back. The DNA came up to this guy. He's got an Interpol Red Notice on him, but didn't get pulled at the airport when he arrived on the island two days ago because he was travelling under a false identity." He finished typing in the man's information before swiping the suspect's photo up onto the screen. "Artem Saritova. He's a Chechen national with a jacket so big it'd fill up my office. Saritova's main source of income is, in fact, organized crime and murder-for-hire. His DNA was found on all three, now four, victims. None of them are connected except for one thing: they all saw our man's face. The first vic was his taxi driver from the airport. The second vic was a young lady who checked him into his hotel room. The third vic made his coffee this morning. And our fourth man, who we suspected of the former three murders, was his business partner. That's why his murder was a little bit sloppier. He had the sense to fight back because he knew what was coming. Seems like our man, Artem, doesn't like leaving loose ends. Anyone who sees his face eventually ends up in the morgue."

Catherine froze in her steps as her eyes focused on the mugshot that was on the screen. Her hand gripped tightly around Steve's. She didn't even turn when Tani and Quinn walked into HQ and joined the growing group. "Oh my god." She whispered.

Steve looked down as he saw terror written all over her face. "Catherine… you know this guy?"

Catherine nodded and exhaled a shaky breath, "It's him."
